Enjoying this project, Luke! We'd had a VT2 Acclaim '99, sadly written off, but had appreciation for their 3.8 and reliability, except for past owner neglect of bushings, loom, cost us thousands, but would have gone on and on except for being the meat in an X5 and CX-9 sandwich. Commodores sure to remain favourites, they're already 25+ years old, making them classics, on the classic, veteran and vintage scale. Loved seeing an expert do their work carefully and concisely explained! Gives folks ideas for their own sidelined projects and plans! Cheers to you and the family, Luke.
I am so glad you are enjoying our cheap car videos so far @Gabi Valla we have a heap more work to do yet and share on video mate🙂 The older generation commodores are just amazing and so reliable as you mentioned. Not much really to go majorly wrong with them and most you can easily fix on the cheap. With parts readily available most anywhere you go too👌
What a shame the old VT2 got written off. Would of been a great car to keep for future running around. I am not to sure what we will do with this vs just yet, but it was way to good to pass up😁 Cheers heaps Gabi, catch you on the next my friend🙂👍🤝
The old coins down the back seat - bonus 👍
Winning alright @The Gold Rush Guy especially when I want to keep the costs down on this project car👌👌
This project is great … never seen the details of a car like this before
@Lisa R I am so glad you enjoyed watching this video. The old vs is going to be a lot of fun to continue to show and work on for future😊😊
@@DigItDetecting gives me a new appreciation of my car and the work that has gone into it ! Thanks for sharing Luke - look forward to seeing how this car turns out after all your and Andrew’s work 🙌
100% @Lisa R it really shows the design and engineering hidden away and what you normally don't get to see at all. We have plenty more to show and enjoy for future. I look forward to sharing😊 Thanks again.
Good work stripping the carpet mate, that’s always a pain.
Thanks heaps @MD MELBOURNE I have done a fee carpet removals of the old vr/vs commodores now. It's all I used to own and work on when I was 18 and loved them😁 I might even keep this one for future and turn it into a daily
Great start Luke. Now the hard work begins. Look forward to the next one 👌👌👍👍👍👍🤜🤛
Free money under the seats @joe kolenik and a good looking car so far mate. I think we are on a winner. I might even keep it myself and run it as a daily driver😁
This was satisfying to watch Luke. 😂
Im really glad you enjoyed watching this one @I Dig It Melbourne we have been having a lot of fun filming and sharing the cheap car videos lately. And plenty more to share very soon😊
G'day Luke! I wish i could get my car clean in less than fifteen minutes, never going to happen! Well if I calculated properly it comes to $185.00. Better than I thought! Which reminds me, Theres a few dollars that fell through the handbrake slot in my car, its been there a few years, Ah well! when I get desperate enough ill know where to look! My dad worked at sims metal when i was in my late teens, he was the last bloke to work there, He ran it by himself till it closed down. A lot of old cars would be brought there for crushing, Im talking, cars from the forty's up, My dad would go through them and hunt them out, It was when he brought home an expensive divers watch and a handful of old coins Thats when i got interested, I was down there every chance I got, hunting out those old cars, And filling up my newly purchased coin book. 48 years later, im still trying to fill that book. But my detectors working on the rest of that. And I never did find a watch, but I still have the one my father found. Im enjoying these video's Luke, Its a bit like a good story where you cant wait to see the outcome! Thank''s Mate, Cheers!
Thanks so much for watching @wayne armstrong I can see already that this project car is going to be alot of fun for future videos mate. And something different is always nice to enjoy😁
I have actually heard of people doing the exact same thing at metal recycling places, checking the old cars and getting coins and all sorts of wonderful treasures out, also secondhand markets and people searching the old couches. It's amazing where the coins will turn up🙂
I bought a Toyota Hilux years ago in my early 20s and once home I pulled the seats out only to find a World War Two Katana Samurai Sword and an axe! The sword turned out to be genuine and I end up selling it for more than the Hilux cost me!😁 Somehow though I wish I still had that sword now🤣🤣
@@DigItDetecting Wow! I can't beat that one, Yep! I would regret selling it too, That would definitely be a display item! Cheers Mate!
Great to be reminded of Simsmetal, we'd been as a kid a few times at the Dandenong, or is it Noble Park/Harrisfield there, cash for cans! Mum had to get us last week to pick up her replacement for her written-off Territory, a near exact Audi Q5 2.0T to my 3.2, and I found a pair of Prada sunnies in their case in the glove box! 😂 Onya & hiya Tootgarook Wayne! @waynearmstrong
The only major problem I see someone put the steering wheel on the wrong side! 😮
Haha thankfully it suits other cars on the road here in Aus @goldendredger 😉😁👍
Pan the gravel 😅
What sell it for ??
.
Ironic the coins have more bacterior than the hair pins.
