the main reason i picked one up was because i hoped it would scratch my Bionicle itch, and it has :) got the blue Alto now, might get a Portanova for him to fight next
@@amazingfan15 another Bionicle fan here I just ordered my first 30MM kit. White Rabiot I love the color scheme of it reminds me of the Toa of Ice a lot with that kind of sand blue color.
That space Portanova looks like a custom Tau battlesuit. I Love it!

Okay. That's it. I'm fully convinced in getting one of these. I lost my spark in this hobby for quite some time and seeing these 30MM kits reignited my passion for this hobby
In different colors the Portanova Space Type looks like it could be a cool and obscure MSV design.
soon this kit will be called 40 minutes mission for adding so many accessories on them 😁😁😁
I'm a slow builder, so my first one took about an hour. My second one took 41 minutes.

I got the Alto Flight Type about a week and a half ago. I found it at my nearest Hobbytown USA. I LOVE IT!!! It's my favorite 30mm so far! I highly recommend it!
The flight type really reminds me of the Justice's backpack

Before you attached the flight unit on the Alto... i just thought it looks like a graze/reginlaze from ibo

These kits are so fun and versatile that a lot of kitbashing ideas come to mind.

That Alto Flight Type Navy looks so badass, It would look great with the Guard Frame kit
I could see using the rear skirting joint and one of the main legs to act as a stabilizer for heavier artillery, like a walking howitzer

Totally love this line from bandai. I've been fiddling around their add on flight and booster pack to end up something like an aile striker.... Then they release a similar complete pack that includes all parts plus leg extenders
What's better: 30 Minute Missions or Frame Arms? And last question: Which and how many of these kits from each line should I buy? They're becoming so sick, Mecha!!!

I have the Alto Flight, and now to see if I can get the Space type. And yes, getting the Equipment with for color matching is nice.
I’ve never built one, but I’ve seen you review the add on set that makes the Alto look like a Gundam and combining it with the flight type would probably make it look even more Gundam-y, so now I kinda wanna get one
I'm really looking forward to the Alto Land Battle type coming later in the month, I might even get a second one like I did for the Portanova Space Type.
Now I want to make a master chief alto
30mm articulation felt really great, and they won't get loose after extreme play. Now to fix my MG marasai and geara doga which flops like crazy
I like how the Alto's head underneath the face-plate is literally just a GM's head.

Why not try giving out some of the extra alto and portanovas in any future 30mm video?
These 30MM looks so incredible that while they are gundam inspired, I feel like they would fit well within the Gen:lock universe.
Finally took the plunge and started on a Black Alto and the Navy flight enabled one. Didn't like the white parts on the Black Alto and swapped them with the other one, finding the white meshes better with the navy blue.
Incidentally also found an unobtrusive position for the long shield like thing from the booster set: placing them between the inner and outer boosters of the backpack moves the wings back a little and improves the clearance with the arms. Aw gawd luvin' the modularity of this line!
Honestly, this line is giving me some serious (affordable) armored core vibes. The ciel nova to me feels like a sobrero that went to the gym.
I took the flight alto’s boosters and slapped them on a portanova with the option booster and flight commander armor. The results were pretty awesome.
Those kits are becoming crazy awesome as time pass! Nice Review Dude. Hey mecha, do you know if the core gundam works with the Machine rider or the Mercury Rev from Gundam Build Fighters Amazing?
I quite like the alto flight type with the regular alto legs, to me it looks awesome
My biggest problem with the alto flight type is that we don't get that second pair of ankle pieces like on the space type portnova. This annoys me, because I'm worried that if I keep detaching the ankle pieces to switch between a normal alto and flight type alto, they may break eventually. I really like the look of the navy flight type alto, but I also really like the look of the standard navy alto, this is why it would be nice I there we're the necessary pieces to easily change in between them whenever I want, without the risk of the pieces eventually breaking.

by the end of collecting these you could make some pretty awesome custom mobile armour looking suits especially if they keep doing these option types hoping for a tank type potanova or alto
The backpack connectors are indeed a different diameter. Grab one of your Core Gundam backpack plates and you'll find the exact same thing with the outer slots being looser than the central slot.
One thing I absolutely love about the 30mm line is all the seam lines on the main mechs are incorporated into functional panel lines. They almost manage this one the weapons too.

I got the Flight Type Alto and Space Type Portanova on release and they're amazing!
30MM is easily becoming my favourite line of kits.
I know this ain't gundam, but I honestly hope to see reverse-jointed mobile suits in the future.

Hey Mecha, I know i'm a year and a half behind, but if you want to make the centaur, you can buy the Extended Armament Vehicle (Space Craft Ver), which has the extra legs you need

Okay, I’m now officially interested in actually starting this hobby just because this review got me thinking.
i got the Portanova Space Type because i wanted a baddie for my Alto to fight, and i figured that it would be taller than Alto because of the legs, and it is :)
it's a miracle that even with the backpack, the Portanova can support itself on such tiny feet. i guess it helps that most of his parts are just hollow :p
Note on portanovas- you can panel line the eye. it has a circular edge, as well as the dot in the middle. So you can make it look more like a camera with a bit of black in there.

You can build a completely white Portanova with the Space Portanova and White Portanova.
That Alto kinda os giving me a Windam vibe. Like the upcoming HG with the flight unit from Seed Destiny. Wonder if this was kinda a test for the Windam. Like a prototype or something.

I'm gonna have to check out that hlj stuff because I think I've finally found the model kits I want to try out. this 30MM stuff looks really cool and seem like they'd be great models for generic mecha in tabletop games.

You could mix the alto flight type and space type to make a blue white Quadrupeds since the alto flight also has those extended leg it might look funky but if you don’t want to buy 2 space types you can try this

These are so much cooler than regular gundam. I got into it because of bionicles, but regular models just aren't this modular, plus the designs look more ac style which is more appealing to me :)

these kits looks pretty cool ! the only thing that i don't like is all the visible holes everywhere on them, they look kinda unfinished.
I get it, holes might be there to further customize with future kits, but they should incluse some pieces to cover the holes

I would love to! Just need to git gud first...
He has to learn how to paint with an airbrush, weather, correctly pannel line, and remove seam lines, as well as use water slides and actually customize and modify kits. He can't do any of the above listed things.

I just saw images of the hg windam and it shares the same elbow and knee joints as the 30 minute mission kits.
I bought the alto flight type and it is a really nice kit.
That space type is really tempt me
I like them both, so hard to decide
