She didn't write them. (Actually: she MAY have added/changed them to "...I got in a fight." - which is, absolutely, a massive improvement in-and-if-itself! ...but I am in no way certain about that!)
Lita played all the gituar on that song , but producers thought it was wrong showing her do it ! She is a real star ! And magic giturest , she was the Runaways, even Joan Jett says , " Lita Ford out did me on gituar" !
Back in my 20's, my roommates and I would hit Karaoke 2-3 nights a week. Took some nerve at first, but it was so much fun. Some of the Grease songs are great to sing with a girl, my go to was Whenever I Call You Friend by Kenny Loggins and Stevie Nicks. Knew 2 girls that had great voices.
I grew up in Southeastern Kentucky, it's good to see people from Kentucky doing some videos. I remember when this song came out. I had already joined the USAF, so it came out when I was in San Antonio. I love many Lita's attitude and talent. She had a terrific duet with Ozzy on the same album, called "If I close My Eyes Forever", which was one of his highest charting songs. The album, Lita, was produced by Sharon Osbourne. She later did some songs with Alice Cooper. Oh, on the karaoke night, if you haven't already, you need to check out the cover of Smooth Criminal by Alien Ant Farm.
This is a great post! Odds are there is a better than 50% chance that one of the girls cruising with you were named Jenny, Janie, Jamie, Katie, Kim, Heather, Tracy, or Christine (but she would only go by "Christie" because the other Christine, spelled with a "K" and not "C" in the same grade at school was a "total witch with a B"). 😂
I was office manager at a radio station when this song hit. Good lawd!! Young guys were poppin in off the street to see if I could slip them a “free” promo cassette 😂😂. Nope. Call in to win it. Sorry boys.
Saw her and April wine in May at Turtle Creek Casino in Manistee, Michigan. They both still rocked!! And they loved the audience right back!! Awesome show, best $50 I ever spent!!
The mid-1970s stuff from Heart would make for very good reaction material. Rock hits from that period like "Barracuda" all seem to get pushed to the side for the more numerous, bigger pop hits and ballads the group did in the mid to late 1980s. (EDIT: Thanks for the notes about "Magic Man" and "Crazy On You." I adjusted the original post above. I try to check the "Playlist" tab on the channel before suggesting songs, but I missed the Heart section. Unless I'm still missing something, it does not appear "Barracuda" has been done yet by the guys. Thanks again.)
You hit it head on.. for girls was was like you said" driving around singing it".. most of us guys.. while yea, song was ok.. but we watched it for Lita... and the girls loved it.. we weren't stupid lol
Great reaction guys to Lita Ford. Cherry bomb is my favorite including the Runaways, Close your eyes forever and dancing on the edge. She has some rockn songs. Other female leads are Pat Bentar heartbreaker, love is a battlefield, Hit me with your best shot and you better run all. Of course Stevie nicks Edge of seventeen and a Stop Dragging my heart around with Tom Petty is excellent. Happy Holidays to you all ❤ peace and love
Another Pat Benatar song that joins your fine list is "Shadows Of The Night." The video has pretty high production value and tells a great story for it being produced in 1982. The video also features Judge Reinhold from "Fast Times At Ridgemont High" and "Beverly Hills Cop," along with the late Bill Paxton.
Another song to add to your Stevie Nicks' solo list would be "Stand Back." That song gave her a second big solo hit, after "Edge of Seventeen," and proved to any remaining doubters that she didn't have to work with Fleetwood Mac or duet partners to put out very successful music.
I did not know I knew this... But I did. My ex who liked Metal - loved her. I am sure the video did help you guys. 😏 It is a good/fun song. Karaoke is fun! Stevie Nicks/Crystal Gale are the only two singers I am confident singing. I have done Dreams and Whenever You Call Me Friend. In the car i'll sing anyone. 😂
Hey guys, love watching your song reviews and especially your reaction. I'm a huge music lover, it's my go to for everything. My parents gave me a Pioneer Stereo Turntable with 8 track tape player and 2 huge speakers on my 11th birthday in '78, my first 2 8 tracks were Queen and Foreigner and first 2 albums were Kiss Love Gun and ELO. Something funny my mom said to me a few months down the road was "Why is it when you have a class assignment to read a book to do a book report, you remember NOTHING! But you know the words to all these songs?" I told her, it's simple I hate reading, but love ❤❤ music! I live about 45 minutes from Louisville and grew up in the 70s and 80s music genre and went to Freedom Hall concerts all the time, still have a bunch of my ticket stubs, concert for $9 or $10 General Admission. Love Lita Ford, my favorite is her duet with Ozzy Osbourne, Close my eyes forever, make sure to squeeze that one into your to do play list. A few of my favorite reviews and reactions were Children of the Sun by Billy Thorpe, Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd, and Sara Smile by Hall and Oates. Sorry for leaving such a large comment. I'm still trying to catch up on your reviews that you have posted. Keep doing what your doing cause it works!!🎧🎚️🎛️🎸🎤🎹🎷🎺🥁🤘🎶🍻
She was also engaged to Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath before she had kids with her second husband and had acrimonious custody disputes where he allegedly poisoned her kids against her. It was sad, but she was at her peak here, not including being a member of The Runaways which was really her pathway to fame as a solo artist.
For another kick ass female vocalist. Did you guys ever cover Jukebox Hero, by Foreigner? Its off the same album Urgent was on and i jnow you loved that one. I think you will love Jukebox Hero just as much
Another 1970s rock band that I don't see often mentioned on the channel but might deserve a shot is Bad Company. That group can be pretty well overlooked by many today, but they were extremely popular and had quite a few hits in the mid-1970s.

This isn't Pop-Punk. It's Pop-Metal, a.k.a. Glam-Metal a.k.a. "Hair Metal." It's way too slick to be Punk anything. It's just all a bit too slick for its own good. I much prefer the heavier Lita that preceded this era. (Check-out "Dressed To Kill" from 1984 if you don't believe me.) I get it; Lita was still just young enough to do tripe like this, but in 1987 she was also hearing the ticking of the clock, and knew that if she missed her opportunity to score big, she would financially regret it forever. So she did the financially smart thing by putting out this Pop-Metal tripe, but in the process sacrificed most of her cred as the serious guitarist she was. I mean, she couldn't let Joan Jett run-away with all the glory, could she? BTW, check-out 2 other songs from this album: "Close My Eyes Forever" which was a duet ballad with none other than the Prince of Darkness himself, Mr Ozzy Osbourne, and a really good solo ballad called "Lisa." I think either of these two songs is better than "Kiss Me Deadly."

This song always made me cringe and I would change the radio station when it came on back in the day. I will say your response to the reaction is a bit harsh. Try to put the listener 's reaction in context with their age and the other "reactor factors". Totally agree with your suggestions and Gotta Let Go is my fave from her.
