    Well, in my opinion, this is the best bass that Fender has, I mean, Precision and Jazz bass at the same time, active and passive at the same time, not so heavy, comfortable and it looks beutiful, someday I will have this bass in my collection.

      I wish they would take the Jaguar bass series more seriously instead of the Dimension basses they decided to do which nobody seemed to like. They can do so much with these basses and it would appeal to Fender's core audience much more than some mediocre stingray clone

    why did fender stop making this? by far the best bass iver owned. P and J in one, Active Passive in one, series parelell as standard. i mean, come on fender, bring this back!

    I like your reviews because you give real critical feedback along with due credit. I hate the reviews that seem to just praise the instrument/gear with rainbows and sunshine. Nothing is perfect and it's good to keep in mind all aspects.

    This bass is great. People kinda have mixed feelings about it. Some say its the best of both worlds of p/j basses and others say that it does neither job exceptionally and thus a mediocre over complicated bass. However, me personally, one thing i always hated about fender was their god damn "good but one trick pony" sounds. With p and j its always something: "Oh i wish my P had more twang"; "oh I wish my jazz had more punch and depth". I personally like basses with maximum versatility so i would much rather save and buy this one bass to fill all of my fender needs than to by two separate basses that I will only use "in certain situations"

      People hate change and for something to come along and challenge their beloved p or j world means it has to be rejected, it can't be just accepted for what it is. I had a USA precision and it was great but I needed more versatility so I got one of these. It is a great bass, in fact, it's amazing.

    Thanks for the review. I can't understand the lack of a Fender video. I haven't even seen this model in local music stores.

    I own this bass and It would take every bit of 10 grand to get me to part with it. That's the best way I can describe how much I love it.

    Nice - I just bought one - dark sunburst. That should compliment nicely my 4003 Rick and Ovation. I'll see if it can replace the Rick as my favorite. Time to sell the Musicman - it plays great, but I just don't seem to play it.

    Great review Dan! Nice sounding bass for sure. Wish they'd make a fiver and move some of those switches & dials around but I guess it wouldn't be a Jaguar then... ;)

    So we got a bass review were the player, goes from pick style to slap and NEVER uses finger plucking? Really? Come on man thats like thousand levels of WRONG in a bass review....

    • @6arcsn1sky
      @6arcsn1sky 7 років тому +3

      Who are you? A jazz enthusiast? Finger picking on a bass guitar is an overused technique. Plus, a pick can give other skills that finger picking can't.

    • @JohnnieGrooves
      @JohnnieGrooves 7 років тому +4

      I don't know when or where did you get the notion that finger plucking is an overused technique on bass, but let me tell you that it is still to this day the standard plucking technique for playing bass. From Jazz to RnB and from Rock to Metal. In every music school of modern music from the lowest one to Berklee and beyond bass teachers teach their students to primarily play with fingers and then move on into other plucking styles. Every plucking style serves its purpose in the sonic spectrum of the instrument and you can't go by without paying your respects to the standard.
      Also I don't know who you are and if you play music or not, but you really need to do your research before forming opinions like these...

    • @6arcsn1sky
      @6arcsn1sky 7 років тому +4

      Be wordy as you appear which I believe you aren't. You don't seem to respect the reviewer since you could seem to be those bass guitarists who bitch and whine about others playing their bass with a pick.

    • @JohnnieGrooves
      @JohnnieGrooves 7 років тому

      I don't appreciate reviews who do not showcase a proper review of a bass. A proper review being, playing the bass with the 3 major ways: fingers, picking and slap, through all pickup positions and tone/eq options if present.

    • @6arcsn1sky
      @6arcsn1sky 7 років тому +1

      Also, I don't appreciate your comment since you want the reviewer to play the Jaguar bass with his fingers. If you want to listen to finger picking on this bass, I'm sure you can find videos of finger picking bass guitarists playing the Jaguar bass.
