      bflo1000 Reverse P pickup on the PJ is even better! Also, I’d add an undersaddle piezo pickup and link it with the upper electronics. With some flatwounds on, you basically have the most versatile / all-in-one bass ever!

      @@Dustiliciousz I had a Reverse PJ (I think Dimarzios) in my 83 NT Washburn Bass. The idea of the reverse P is to thicken up the D & G strings.

    I have this bass, but olympic white.
    Some corrections:
    01:22 - 18 volts (2 x 9v)
    02:23 - bass and TREBLE, not "bass and tone"
    04:38 - Treble cut, not "tone control"
    04:54 - Bass cut, not "bass contol"

    One aspect of bass guitar that is always overlooked in reviews like this one and is important to me is... Does the guitar balance properly on it's strap when playing it in a standing position. My Squire Jazz Bass does not and the tuning head end of the guitar always wants to pull downward for me by gravity. I don't like that because then I have to apply downward pressure from my right arm to the bridge end of the body to counteract it. My left hand must be free to do the fretting work without the distraction of a downward pull at the neck end.

    • @lukeknowles9267
      @lukeknowles9267 4 роки тому

      Thomas De Lello weird problem to have cos the jazz bass has a very heavy body and mine keeps totally in place and doesn’t drop down down at the headstock at all......

  • @punman5392

    I wish they would make this with the Jazz bass neck pickup again. Or even better, a new or lesser used pickup design

  • @edwincancelii2917
    @edwincancelii2917 3 роки тому

    I love it on the series mode for the precision split pickup for the salsa, Latin jazz, traditional jazz, Brazilian jazz, some soul music, today’s hip-hop & rap & possibly love songs, without the mute, for a louder tone. My second favorite is both pickups also in series mode, for pop or Top 40 music & soft rock music.

    That is not a "Tone control" In the active switch, That's a treble control, So it has: Bass and treble! When we talk about a Tone knob, A master tone it controls Bass, Mid and treble! That's tone! Then what you have in the active switch is treble and bass. and a master tone for instance in a pasive bass controls the 3 eq bands!

    • @porkypiny1
      @porkypiny1 8 років тому +9

      +David Barrera Tone knobs don't control any set frequency, they're low-pass filters.

    I must add that it sat in its case for two months on a container in a ship whilst I relocated from British winter to Aussie summer, both extreme cases. North was particularly cold this year whilst south was 40+ often this summer, getting back on point, the little fucker was still in tune when I got it. Think about what Ive just said and you will realise that that is very very decent.
