It is worth noting that Angelina's mom, the blonde lady watching behind the curtain was crying and when asked why, she , her name is Sara, said she realized she has just lost her daughter to the world.❤❤❤❤❤
This was really her first public appearance. She sang three more songs on Norway’s Got Talent, and it’s astonishing how much she improved on each one. Her final song, which won her this competition, is Summertime-and she kills it. It’s patterned after the Ella Fitzgerald version, but like all Angelina songs, we get her own interpretation, phrasing, and riffs. Even at seven, there’s no stage fright. She starts singing, she’s swaying with the music, and it seems effortless. And that continues with everything she does in any genre. I envy that you’re just starting. Angelina is once in a lifetime.
Angelina’s grandmother loves jazz and introduced it to her very young. She did a lot of covers with a jazz style and her voice is perfectly suited for this genre of music.
Yes, she might have planted a seed, but ANGELina started searching YT for Billie Holiday and music she liked. She did most her self, and she was allowed to do so. Her granny, took her to a real record shop, specialized in old genres in OSLO, so she could get the feel of the vinyl and search in the rows of different genres and musicians.
Angelina and her Grandmother Mery Zamani are of like minds. It’s as if the two of them share one soul. She introduced Angelina to jazz, playing the vinyl records of Mery’s own extensive jazz collection when Angelina was TWO. It was only later that she started spending a lot of time at Oslo’s jazz record shop (“Bare Jazz”). In all of Angelina’s early videos it is Mery behind the camera (her cellphone) giving Angelina encouragement. Later on after Angelina Jordan won NGT, it was Mery who directed and produced Angelina’s early music videos. As an artist (a prodigy in both art and poetry at six) Mery shared with Angelina the process of creating the video’s story boards and the two of them worked together on them. Angelina has said of her Grandma: *“…She’s my inspiration, my best friend… my EVERYTHING.”* 💙❤️
Yes, that was her official introduction to the world. I kinda liked your comment, "She's adorable but she's a savage, too." It's true. The way I interpret that is that she has the audience in the palm of her hands. Did you like the way she motioned to the people behind the stage that she was ready to sing? Also, that had to be a very nervous moment when the judge asked her if she knew what the song was about. She paused for a second, and then calmly said, "Yes, it was a sad Sunday." She understood the story of the song. She sang it because she fell in love with Billie Holiday and, in particular, loved to listen to her sing this song. Btw, there were three other songs she sang and we can actually see her maturing during the taping of the show. And many viewers can tell you her age by counting her teeth. It'd be a good idea if you watched the other three songs. Another Billie Holiday song, 'I'm A Fool To Want You', she sings a cappella. Then 'Bang Bang' (Nancy Sinatra) and she finishes with George Gershwin's 'Summertime' and she sings it in the style of Ella Fitzgerald. Not making this up. After her run on Norway's Got Talent she performed at an outdoor event to a massive crowd and after a short interview (she was 8) she sang 'What A Difference A Day Makes' (Dinah Washington recorded it in the 50's) and the video ranks very high on the list of our favorite Angelina performances.
Angelina is Norwegian by birth. But her ethnicity is like much of Europe. Mixed. Mom is half Iranian half Japanese. Dad is Swedish. Angelina definitely inherited the middle eastern roots. Very apparent as a young adult now. And got the Nordic genes for her height. She stands around 6 feet tall. If music doesn’t work out she could easily model. And loves fashion and the arts
Angelina started with Jazz at a very young age (1-1/2) thru her Grandmother, Mery Zamani, a well known artist. Angelina gravitated to music immediately. She couldn't get enough, then she started discovering the different genres and it became an almost obsession. She has always been able to convey emotion thru her music and uses her empathy to channel the greats. There is much to learn with this one...
Her love of jazz came from her Grandma Mery when she would play Jazz music around her. From there, she listened to other singers in other genres. As you continue your journey with Angelina, she has covered Whitney Houston, Amy Winehouse, Adele, and Lana Del Rey as well, but she definitely loves the music from the past....
Here is a quote from Angelina (7y) from an interview with TV2 after her Auditions NTG 2014. "The reason I chose this song is completely random. I love jazz, but" Gloomy Sunday "was random. It was a night I could not sleep and my mother was stressed that I was awake long after midnight. Then I borrowed my mom's iPad where I wanted to listen to jazz on UA-cam before I fell asleep. Then came a picture of a beautiful lady screaming at the sky and with her eyes closed. I heard the song "Gloomy Sunday" that night and then I had to hear it every day. I love the melody. I understood well what the text was about because I know English well. Every time I sang it I felt something special about it, it's hard to explain in words. When I sang it for mom, she said that this song is nice, but that it was incredibly sad song. " ♥👣👸🏻🎷
Since Angelina first sang in her crib at age 1 1/2 years old - I think it would be safe to say that she was hearing music sounds from her grandmother's jazz records while still in the womb pr at least since birth.
The three leaving at the last was Angelina Jordan (*) .. her maternal grandmother Mery Zamani .. and .. Angelina's muse in music, Iranian artist who her mom, Sara Astar (last one out the door) says Angelina got her talent from. In her early least you will see her at home recording standing in front of one of Mery's paintings.
Omar the first judge to speak became a family friend to Angelina after the competition. He has an interesting history himself. He is the son of a woman that was the nanny for Michael Jackson’s kids. A rumor followed him for years that he was Michael’s first son. I’m pretty sure it’s not true. But he spent a lot of time with MJ and family as a kid
Get used to saying WOW;) She turned 8 during the competition so you will see her at 8! lol There is a vid with all 4 NGT performances (about 15-20 min I think) if you don't want a separate reaction vid to each. Well worth it!
👉 I'd highly recommend continuing with the remaining 3 songs from her time on Norway's Got Talent journey - her vocal development here is well worth the watch! Another awesome reaction, Zac - very genuine! 👍
Great reaction! The older lady you see at the 12:32 mark is THE reason why Angelina caught on to this kind of music. That lady is her grandmother, Mery Zamani, who grew up in Iran and was considered a child prodigy herself, only in writing and arts. Angelina would not have been who and what she is today had it not been for her grandmother. Their bond is an EXTREMELY tight one, as you might suspect. Mery was constantly playing jazz in their home, and by the age of 3, Angelina was an active listener to the genre, and an avid guest in the local record store, constantly looking for more. From that same age she was also using UA-cam a lot 🙂 But at age 3 she was already a vet, as she first sang with a mic when she was 18 months old, covering Whitney Houston. CRAZY, I know. Love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥
It's so cool to see someone who gets addicted to Angelina like I have. You don't know how many times I have watched each of these videos and about half the time I'm shedding a tear or two or many. Nice to see your reaction
It’s funny that you would refer to her singing in a lounge. She actually did a cameo performance on the show Lilyhammer where she sang “I’m a Fool to Want you” in a lounge. When she was 8, she did the semifinals of NGT, “Bang Bang” and then “Summertime” in the finals. Right after she won NGT she performed “What a Difference a Day Makes”, which I consider to be her best as a child, at an annual Jazz Festival on the boarder of Norway and Switzerland!
The beginning of her journey and making of a star! A seven year old owning and commanding the stage and has the audience and judges in the palm of her hand. Smiles at the end capturing hearts! Listen to the original and you can see her control and timing are spot on at seven! 🇳🇴🇺🇸 When she was two years old Grandma Mery introduced her to the Jazz greats and listened to them and searched them out! As Angelina has stated “if there was no Billie Holiday, there would not be an Angelina Jordan the vocalist!” She is music!
You'll have to go through the other 3 songs of this amazing quartet of songs she did throughout the 4 months of filming. There's "I'm a Fool to Want You" (pa1189j, ua-cam.com/video/LXknLZDoRVQ/v-deo.htmlsi=z1qYtPLhz766TBxs), "Bang Bang" (John Kjetil Johannesson, ua-cam.com/video/pcBoB49Gxn8/v-deo.htmlsi=FrFJ0mFuEC_XqEUE), and "Summertime." (pa1189j, ua-cam.com/video/bnpFsCNKzFg/v-deo.htmlsi=a_HfovFJp3oFfPQI). The videos that need subtitles are already subtitled; have a wonderful time with them! ❤
Zack, if you really want a treat, watch Angelina sing I’m A Fool For You as one of her performances on Norway’s Got Talent. She sings it acapella in front of all the other kid contestants. You just know those poor other kids were shitting their pants as they watched Angelina sing. It’s definitely worth it. 😂❤😂
Grandmother Mery introduced her to jazz and AJ was attracted to Billie Holiday and her style and sound. Then she learned from many recorded mentors, Dinah Washington, Frank, Louis, Elvis, Amy, Patsy, Jay Hawkins, so many more. She has picked up qualities from each of them to formulate her own style and sound. The second song in this competition she did a cappella, I'm a Fool To Want You, also by Billie Holiday. To me it's the most telling of her skill and discipline. This 10 min video has all four and the second one starts at 2:50. You have to see all four to get a sense of her amazingly quick progression during this period. ua-cam.com/video/O2bX15tYFVk/v-deo.html
In order, the other NGT performances are an acapella version of 'I'm a Fool', also from Billie Holliday (too many survived auditions, so an additional audition was needed before the next round), Nancy Sinatra's 'Bang Bang (I Shot You Down), and Gershwin's 'Summertime' for the finale, which is my favorite performance from the show.
Her grandma Mery, a reknown iranian artist, showed her Billy and many jazz classics very early, likeat three. So when shes still learning language itself she took those front forrward mimic and repeat skills and picked up the nuances. This is a huge leap away from learning later and mdifying what has been set. She is a keen observer and then engages it into her own.
Many believe English is her third language. But that can not be so. When she was 1 yo (in january 2007) her father was employed as Asset Manager Statoil Iran with his office in New Mexico, USA. (Source: Linkedin). His family very likely moved to the US with him, and there are at least three videos showing AJ in the US in her early childhood (she moved back to Norway in time to starting school at 6). - And how would a 3 yo girl become fascinated by Simon Cowell if she could not understand what he was saying? Thus: English is probably her first language (in parallell with Norwegian).
Omer Bhatti the judge that interviewed her about 2 years after this when he was visiting his friends the Jackson's in the US at Christmas time he introduced Michael's mother to AJ's singing.
Great reaction Zach. Angelina was still 7 for her next performance. Too many singers passed their audition so they had a Judges Cut round to trim the field. Each singer was required to sing a Cappella unless they also played a instrument. Angelina sang Billie Holidays last hit, "I'm a Fool to Want You". Please choose the video which is 2:32 in length.
Andy, I've always heard she was only 7 for Gloomy Sunday & turned 8 for the last 3 performances. Do any Angels have the exact dates for the performances to clarify this discrepancy.
@@keithserafy Gloomy Sunday was performed on November 24, 2013 and aired at a later date. I know someone sent me the date for the Judges Cut round and it was before her birthday. The Judges Cut aired on February 7th, 2014. I will keep looking for the performance date.
The judges cut was performed at Feb. 7th, 2014 (it was aired only on March 28th). This is very certain, as there is a news story giving that date in a story about the girl in the red dress behind Angelina. Search for "Inna (9) gikk videre i Norske talenter", then use a translator. What you have to understand though it's, that they call that the 3rd round, as for them an internal, non-televised screening audition was the 1st, and the first TV recording was the 2nd round. I believe the claim that she auditioned on Nov. 24th is only based on the fact, that this was an official audition show that was announced before her 8th birthday. However, that was in Trondheim, but all communications from TV2 indicate that she auditioned in Oslo. The problem is, the only announced audition shows in Oslo were in late January, were she would have been 8 already. There were non-televised precasts done at Jan 10th to 12th, so there is a slight possibility that they had a non-announced audition show there prior to that. Possibly as a test run, were the audience was selected by other means than public invitation.
@@most2dot0 Thank you very much for your information. I made sure to put it in a proper place, in my ever growing library of information. Would love to know your first name for future use. I appreciate all the work you do to help support Angelina.
Apparently, her "mormor" (lit. mother's mother in Norwegian) got Angelina interested in classical jazz at a young age. There was no looking back after that...
Angelina’s greatest influence and inspiration comes from her Iranian 🇮🇷 grandmother Mery Zamani who is a talented artist and poet, and is always by Angelina’s side when Angelina is in the studio recording and is also involved with production , Mery introduced Angelina to the old classic songs when Angelina was 1 1/2 years old, Angelina signed with Republic Records at 14 years old, and her Uncle Mike is Angelina’s manager, Republic Records absolutely appreciate Angelina’s amazing talent and dedication to her craft,so much so they gave Angelina her own studio, Angelina is not like other kids she has understood her craft from a early age, you cannot teach this talent Angelina has jazz and soul flowing through her veins, great reaction thanks 🙏
On her recent short documentary ANGELINA JORDAN 10 YEARS IN THE MAKING. On it is a film of her singing with a karaoke mike at 18 months. She describes becoming obsessed with music at 2. It also has footage of her recent Vegas concert. Though it was short notice as the venue had a cancellation that Angelina snapped up as its a venue Elvis performed at, her international fans flew in for 2 sell out concerts in the same day. On it you hear her at 18 and some of her own songs. Non of her family are singers or musicians but Grandma Meri was also a child prodigy. Reading her own poems on local radio as a preschooler. As a result the family knew how to nurture a prodigy. Combining trying to give her as normal life as possible whilst encouraging. They refused to sign her turning down Disney and many others until at 14 offered a deal where they would not push her out till she finished school. After she fulfilled her NGT obligations they limited performances to school holidays and carefully selected venues.
As far as teeth are concerned, Freddy Mercury had 2 extra incisor teeth and refused to have them removed as it would prevent him singing with as big a range as he had.
Just for reference, Angelina was born on 2006-01-10, her mother Sara on 1984-01-31, and her mother's mother Mery on 1961-04-12. So we have to go at least one more generation back to get to the time that this song was popularized by Billie Holliday (1941). She has covered other songs that were popular even earlier than that (I don't have all the relevant years "at hand"). To answer your question about where her love for old music comes from, a lot of people say her grandmother's record collection, but I think it's more likely (and more firmly based in at-least-semi-reliable sources) that it was simply by browsing UA-cam that she developed a taste for "classics" going back to almost the beginning of recorded music (early 1920s). Several sources say she was already listening to songs on YT when she was literally still a baby. For example, a blurb about her at the UCLA Health website says: "Angelina Jordan was one and a half years old when she discovered UA-cam after hearing and falling in love with Whitney Houston's 'I Will Always Love You' a few months earlier. Incredibly, this little girl eventually taught herself to type the first four letters of that song into UA-cam so she could listen to her favorite track over and over." (If this source seems a little random, the explanation is that Angelina participated in a charity event in 2016 that benefitted the UCLA Children's Hospital.) Her bio at Republic Records' website (published in 2020) describes her transition to jazz in this way: "Angelina went from belting out Whitney Houston's 'I Will Always Love You' to immersing herself in jazz at five-years-old. She discovered Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, and Louis Armstrong by combing jazz playlists across UA-cam." And the bio at Angelina's own official website says: "Amazingly, her passion for music began at just one-and-a-half years of age when Angelina first saw Whitney Houston on UA-cam performing 'I Will Always Love You'. Whitney - and later Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington - became her first major musical influences." (I've taken the liberty of improving the punctuation and spacing a bit in this quote.)
As I understand it, Angelina largely got her start listening to grandma Mery's extensive collection of jazz records, supplemented both by YT videos and by scouring the racks of vinyl records at stores around Oslo. There is video from a local TV story when she was still quite young as she browsed records at one such store. In the case of this particular song, Angelina has described mother Sara being stressed one late night that Angelina couldn't sleep. She let her daughter use her phone to find music to help her sleep and this was the song Angelina found . . . and became obsessed with. Basically, she was as driven at a young age to learn and enjoy music as you find with those who stand out in any field and it has shown in her amazingly rapid development over the years. One simply cannot sustain that pace of development without burning out unless you absolutely love what you are doing. That her family was committed to protecting her and allowing her to have a pretty normal childhood has been important to her growing into a very well-adjusted young adult, avoiding the pitfalls so many young talents in many fields experience.
@@michaelsoper3610 But is there an actual source for that claim about Mery's record collection? That's what seems to be missing. People say that, but I've never seen anyone cite a source.
@@DonaldLancon I saw it referenced in a few early interviews/feature stories on Norwegian TV when she was much younger and closer to the events. Can't recall whether it was from her/her family or broadcaster. Just a long-time fan here; not a researcher. You can do that on your own. It's also important to note that Angelina and YT basically went through their infancy together, so YT was not the monolithic source of music it now is. Specifically, I recall Mery's collection being where Angelina discovered both Billie Holliday and Dinah Washington, who continue to be among her strongest influences to this day.
No, that was later. The NGT format starts with auditions in front of the audience (apart from pre-casts, that are not done by the official judges and are not aired). That is different as for singing contest like American Idol, or The XFactor. Were she sang a cappella, that was the so called Judges Cut, where the selected from all the contestants that passed the audition, who would proceed to the semi final.
..and that one went viral! There are 5 million people in Norway.....and that is the number of views it got in the first week! Very nice reaction, Zack :) !
Angelina has said on many occasions that she loves late at night to sing and compose. She has a strong affinity to the moon and songs that mention the moon. You see moon images over and over in her vides and songs. I am sure she was a challenge as a little girl for her family as is every extraordinarily talented child is.
When she said she wanted to be a superstar, it was not a vague dream - it was a plan. And she was about to make her first move. As I'm sure you have found out already by now, the biggest inspiration for Angelina was her grandmother, Meri Zamani, who is Iranian and an internationally acclaimed artist. She is also a jazz lover. Angelina's other inspiration is Billie Holiday herself. Angelina once said that without Billie Holiday there would be no Angelina Jordan. At eight she performed the two live songs on NGT (Bang Bang and Summertime), and went on to sing What a Difference a Day Makes, Fly Me to the Moon, and perform at a concert given in honour of two Nobel Prize winners, as well as other charity events and TV appearances. All while continuing her normal school education! The world was never the same since.
Her Grandmother loves Jazz and swing.... Angelina loves it independently... she didn't need anybody to tell her... she loves it on her own ... she was sneaking on her mothers phone at 2yo and listening to old music the singers were people like Sinatra ..Louis Armstrong .. Ella .. Etc. she says Billie Holiday is her Favourite.. they taught her to sing.... She is of course A Very bright Girl... Her mother Sara says she had a very adult way of thinking at 7 or 8 yo. She is a Shy girl in public and like many girls like that is very intelligent ..... But then the Music Starts!!! ... Angelina said that is how she expresses her self.... And we all benefit. The best thing is she doesn't sing to earn a living... She sings for other reasons !!... Lucky for us !
Angelina Jordan Astar, born on January 10, 2006, in Oslo, Norway, showed a passion for singing at an incredibly young age. At just one and a half years old, she sang in her crib, inspired by Whitney Houston's performances on UA-cam, and by the age of three, she was already listening to jazz and classic legends on her iPad. While her grandmother, artist and poet Mery Zamani, was the greatest influence of her early musical tastes, it was Angelina who ultimately decided to pursue a career in music, with great support from her family. At the age of six and seven, Angelina had her very first studio performances, singing "Rolling in the Deep" and "I Who Have Nothing." However, it was at the age of eight that she gained viral fame by winning Norway's Got Talent. Singing old-time classics from artists like Billie Holiday, Nancy Sinatra, and Ella Fitzgerald, she became one of the youngest vocalists ever to win an international Got Talent show. Her rendition of Screamin Jay Hawkins' "I Put a Spell on You" at the age of nine is considered one of the best performances by a vocalist of that age. She is truly a prodigy. By the time Angelina was eleven, she recorded her album "It's Magic," which consistently charted as one of the top 10 best-selling jazz albums. With over 130 covers of songs from 80 different artists by the age of 13, and over 200 to date, Angelina always adds her unique touch to each rendition. Here is a semi-chronological UA-cam playlist for Angelina of over 200 songs, beginning with some originals, her EP, and a few specialty songs. Then it starts chronologically beginning with Gloomy Sunday from Norway's Got Talent. ua-cam.com/play/PL2v8kgVeo4EbQD6l_WAVjOfItquzW7oEc.html&si=HrEm55lV164yKJqu In 2019 and 2020, at the ages of thirteen and fourteen, Angelina once again gained viral attention on America's Got Talent: The Champions. Her unique versions of "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" impressed not only Simon Cowell but also earned her the golden buzzer from Heidi Klum. The surviving members of Queen also praised her performance. Perhaps most astonishingly, Angelina sings in English, her third language. During her earlier years, and especially after her America's Got Talent performances, multiple record company executives took notice of Angelina's talent. However, her family declined their offers, prioritizing her education and a normal childhood. It wasn't until she turned fourteen that a contract was signed with Republic Records, marking the start of her career. Between the ages of eleven and twelve, Angelina even composed her first three original songs: "What is Life," "Oslo," and "Shield." In November 2020, at the age of fourteen, she released the song "Million Miles" as a tribute to her late maternal grandfather. This marked her first release under Republic Records, and a year later she followed it up with her jazzy and upbeat single, "7th Heaven." Why does Angelina perform barefoot? It all stems from a promise she made to herself at the age of six. While traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, they encountered a young orphan girl who had no shoes and had scarred feet. This girl weighed people with scales to earn money. Angelina gave her own favorite shoes to the girl, and when asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, the girl said she wanted to be a doctor but couldn't because she had to take care of her siblings. When Angelina was asked the same question, she said she wanted to sing for the world. The young girl promised to pray for Angelina. Since that day, Angelina has performed barefoot as a reminder of those less fortunate. At the age of nine, she even wrote a book about this experience titled "Between Two Hearts," becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. Aside from her music, Angelina is known for her charitable nature. She has helped raise millions for children and environmental causes, mostly from performances at fundraising events. At the age of eight, she even pledged to donate her winnings from Norway's Got Talent to children in need. She has performed for heads of state in various countries to raise money for charity and during the pandemic, she was seen buying meals for the homeless on the streets of Los Angeles. Throughout her career, she has continued to prioritize helping those in need. Now that Angelina has recently turned eighteen, her activities with Republic Records have multiplied. She released her original song "Love Don't Let Me Go" on May 5th, 2023, followed by her EP "Old Enough" in July, featuring five new original tracks. Her song "Our Time" has been featured in a commercial by SoFi, a finance company, and is played regularly at Sodi Stadium. Additionally, it has been heard on various radio stations. Angelina's performances have taken her to numerous high-profile events. In December 2022, she performed at the Asian American Awards in Los Angeles, and in February 2023, she performed at the FIFA Awards ceremony in Paris, France, reaching an audience in the millions. She was also invited on Germany's Next Top Model in 2023 by Heidi Klum. On November 25, 2023, Angelina had the honor of attending Le Bal, the annual Debutante Ball in Paris, France. Additionally, she was invited to perform at the tribute to Narges Mohammadi, the recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, on December 11, 2023. Narges is an activist for women's rights who is currently on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran. This performance held great significance for Angelina and her family, as her grandmother Mery Zamani grew up in Iran. They hope that Angelina's performance, combined with Narges' story, will inspire change and raise awareness of her mission. Most recently, Angelina performed two shows in Las Vegas on the same stage that Elvis Presley graced for many years. Her new song, Princess of Ruins, is a tribute to the young girl Angelina gave her shoes to when she was 6 years old. This should be Angelina's anthem. Angelina's humble and compassionate nature is what makes her so special, in addition to her music. Since childhood, her goal has been to sing for the world and spread love and peace, and she is well on her way to achieving that. Peace and love.
It's probably been said. Look into wearing no shoes. She is adorbale here, she is 18 now, and you guessed it, very beautful today. Her mother looks like Lady Gaga, what do you expect? Her confidence being up there so young, snagletoothed is amazing.
As my friends here said, grandma Mery Zamany is a Jazz fan. At age 2 Angelina was introdused to the greats of Jazz and blues. Be safe. Elmar from Germany
She was ONLY SEVEN YEARS OLD. She knows how to use voice, Let’s just say she was a True Diamond in the Making . As she Grew some Rough Edges were Smooth Out . ❤😮❤😅🎉😂
Her grandma, Mery, is the reason for Angelina's exposure to this repertoire, that goes from old school jazz and blues (Billie Holliday, Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Louis Armstrong, Diana Washington, Screamin' Jay, etc) to soul and to iconic singers (as Elvis, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Fred Mercury Amy Winehouse, Adele etc...).
She has some Adele songs that she does I think better than Adele, she also did a Michael Jackson Billie Jean cover and made it jazzy and you really need to watch the rest of her performances on this show and you could also go back to when she was 6 and singing in a booth I'm not sure where at school maybe and she's saying I who have nothing. There's also a clip of her a lot of people have not reacted to but it is her in preschool I believe and they are trying to get them to sing Christmas songs as she's just looking so disgusted like she's not going to do it it's really funny
Her grandmother Mery played jazz music and she loved it. She gravitated toward it and would listen to records of Billie, Ella, Louis Armstrong, etc. There’s a clip of her in a record store-looks like she’s a preschooler-picking out the records she wants. What was she doing when she was eight? Singing live at the Nobel Peace Prize outdoor concert in Norway in freezing weather in a little white dress, and singing at an annual outdoor summer festival in front of hundreds (maybe thousands) of people an old favorite, “What A Difference A Day Makes” (one of my very favorite performances of hers-check it out!). Be sure to watch the other three performances of NGT before you continue-
You will be even more impressed if you watch the next three performances in this contest. Her progression over a few months is incredible! Great reaction, thank you!
I can tell you,Angelina was very much at her parent,s and thei had very much old Lp whit jazz, sold and you name it,and she play them over and over and learn to jus the voice to jazz, soul, old pop stars..and she nail it at one,two years old..she can sing evry sjanger to day..grandmother is her ril mentor..😊👌💟
Thank you for your reaction. You will really appreciate AJ in the following link. It showcases her Professional Start at the age of 6 mind🤯🤯🤯 #AngelinaJordanHurtlivestudio #AngelinaJordanIWhoHaveNothinglivestudio
Her performance of "Fly Me to the Moon" on the U.S. TV show _The View_ (seen in the top row, second column, in the grid of thumbnails YT showed you at the end of this video) would be a good choice for your next AJ reaction. (It's easy enough to find with a search. Look for the upload by pa1189j.) It would show you that she was already singing with quite a bit of vocal "decoration" at age 8, when the song called for it. (This is a followup to your comment about all the vocal "tricks" [I think you said] that she was doing as she sang "Bohemian Rhapsody".) And her slightly earlier performance of "What a Difference a Day Makes" on the Norwegian TV show _Allsang på Grensen_ (bottom row, third column) also comes _highly_ recommended. She was also 8 in that one. (In a little pre-song interview, she said that she was about to travel to the U.S. and would be singing there. That was an allusion to her upcoming appearance on _The View_ .)
The brown hair female judge had an operation for brain anueism, so she had a hard time standing. The dancer grew up in Neverland, but has never commented on the roumers that he is Michael Jacksons son. Nr three is and actor, and should stick to that, or at least not be the leader of a big theater stage. The blond is super sweet. She worked for decades with my sister and her husband at Rogaland Theater. She is incapable of being rude. So now you know.
"Where did she go when she was 8? Did she take a break?" In the same light-hearted spirit, around that age, and for years after that, she was in "Rehab" (aka "School"): ua-cam.com/video/MJnGNtYm24c/v-deo.html 😀
Looks like Angie's momentum has stalled out as an adult. Maybe something is up with the record company. Strangely she doesn't master her own material live as well as previousl songs. Now, The Warning is killing it, Angie...not so much. I'm bummed.
Angelina has said of her Grandma: *“…She’s my inspiration, my best friend… my EVERYTHING.”*

@@peterhormell1511Thanks so much for this Heartfelt Information 👍🙏💯👣😎
I did - in everything I've seen she doesn't hold back with her directional cues to anyone else involved
watch the 3 next shows to see the growth on each performance
Awesome reactions to our Angel man. 🤗
Love of old jazz songs came from Grandma Mery. She just latched on to it in the cradle. ❤️❤️
There is much to learn with this one...
she was 7 here. She was 8 when she won Norway's Got Talent
🤯❤🎶
Please watch the other three songs from NGT. She improves with each one. The final when she wins is very heartwarming as well.❤👣
I love your reactions. Just your thoughts and comments are well said.
In my opinion she became a superstar as soon as she started singing
👍😏😎
Zack, you must listen to the rest of Norway Got Talent, she won the contest, with singing « Summertime ».
Since Angelina first sang in her crib at age 1 1/2 years old - I think it would be safe to say that she was hearing music sounds from her grandmother's jazz records while still in the womb pr at least since birth.
Sara, Angelinas mom was 29 years old. 🙂
Thank you!
You are right when you said it sounds like she just came from a lounge. I would have eagerly paid the club's cover charge.
❤👣
It’s tempting to go to her page & just watch her stuff the rest of the night! 💜💜💜
Hi Zack. I really love this performance but my favourite NGT Angelina performance is "I'm a Foot to Want You" because it was acapella.
She is our Internet Baby, we love her so much❤ Grandma Mery introduced her to jazz, she does Whitney songs real good. Everything she sings is magical.
Get used to saying WOW;) She turned 8 during the competition so you will see her at 8! lol There is a vid with all 4 NGT performances (about 15-20 min I think) if you don't want a separate reaction vid to each. Well worth it!
THANK U ❣
Angelina was a very busy 8-year-old. Enjoy!
😍
It's so cool to see someone who gets addicted to Angelina like I have. You don't know how many times I have watched each of these videos and about half the time I'm shedding a tear or two or many. Nice to see your reaction
Thanks ❤❤❤
I watch you for many great reactions, but watching you doing Angelinas little hmm journey on Norway's GT would be something I'd like. 😊
Sweden 😊
@@stevenhambek846
Yeah, I realize that I made a mistake.
On the Lilyhammer production she got to meet her 1st famous musician Steve Van Zandt of the E Street Band .
Grandma, Mery Zamani is Angelina’s greatest creative influence on Angelina’s love of singing the classic jazz songs.
In fact the girl in the red dress who was up next after hearing AJ could not sing acapella.
Go ahead and do a block of the rest from this, three more, very short. But it helps set the foundation for the rest.
I agree. The progress just in this short amount of time from "Gloomy Sunday" to the final song, "Summertime", is amazing to watch!
@@bills5268
Yes, I to concur 🤔
One must finish the NGT once you start.
Summer time all ya got to say
🥰
Amazing, watching a prodigy grow and come into her own . Not a bad or ordinary song . Ever.
If you see a comment from Andy Schnell, it will answer a lot of questions
Many believe English is her third language. But that can not be so. When she was 1 yo (in january 2007) her father was employed as Asset Manager Statoil Iran with his office in New Mexico, USA. (Source: Linkedin). His family very likely moved to the US with him, and there are at least three videos showing AJ in the US in her early childhood (she moved back to Norway in time to starting school at 6). - And how would a 3 yo girl become fascinated by Simon Cowell if she could not understand what he was saying? Thus: English is probably her first language (in parallell with Norwegian).
👍🏻👍🏻
erik A family friend had confirmed that Angelina's English was so advanced from an early age that it was practically her native language.
Omer Bhatti the judge that interviewed her about 2 years after this when he was visiting his friends the Jackson's in the US at Christmas time he introduced Michael's mother to AJ's singing.
On this same show, she sings "Summertime" by Geo. Gershwin as her final winning performance!!
@@most2dot0 So you are saying saying she was 7 for Gloomy Sunday & was 8 for the other 3 performances? If so, that's what I originally said to Andy.
@@most2dot0 Thank you very much for your information. I made sure to put it in a proper place, in my ever growing library of information. Would love to know your first name for future use. I appreciate all the work you do to help support Angelina.
cant wait till you see her 2nd round, Im a fool to want you, its crazy
english was her 3rd language unless im stoned and mis-remembering
Apparently, her "mormor" (lit. mother's mother in Norwegian) got Angelina interested in classical jazz at a young age. There was no looking back after that...
👣⭐❤
She is one fearless little girl! I would have lost my lunch on stage!
It's her grandmother's influence. She loves jazz.
*NEW* Sweet Juliette, the Babysitter (sister of Angelina Jordan) ua-cam.com/video/_llsNukSsAA/v-deo.html
And so a New shining Star was born !!!
@@michaelsoper3610 OK, that gives me something to work with. I'll review her early interviews and see if I can find such a reference.
There is one more video of her that was before this one, it was an Acapella that she sang for her first audition!
@@most2dot0 OK, thanks, but I hope he reacts to it.
..and that one went viral!
There are 5 million people in Norway.....and that is the number of views it got in the first week!

It’s fun watching a new reactor “get” Angelina, people like me in Australia can see her. Cheers from Australia 🦘🇦🇺
Then it starts chronologically beginning with Gloomy Sunday from Norway's Got Talent. ua-cam.com/play/PL2v8kgVeo4EbQD6l_WAVjOfItquzW7oEc.html&si=HrEm55lV164yKJqu
In 2019 and 2020, at the ages of thirteen and fourteen, Angelina once again gained viral attention on America's Got Talent: The Champions.
This marked her first release under Republic Records, and a year later she followed it up with her jazzy and upbeat single, "7th Heaven."
Why does Angelina perform barefoot?
And so she began her conquest of the world of music and hearts
She is awesome heaven sent wild bill
please watch angelia,s first recorded song i who have nothing
Be sure to watch the other three performances of NGT before you continue-
Her grandma lived with them and played jazz all the time. She started singing jazz when she was 1 and a 1/2 years old.
From her grandma!❤

Thank you for your reaction. You will really appreciate AJ in the following link. It showcases her Professional Start at the age of 6 mind🤯🤯🤯

English is Angelina's 3rd language.
Figuriamoci come saprà la prima.... Angelina conosce benissimo l' inglese, scusa.
(This is a followup to your comment about all the vocal "tricks" [I think you said] that she was doing as she sang "Bohemian Rhapsody".)
And her slightly earlier performance of "What a Difference a Day Makes" on the Norwegian TV show _Allsang på Grensen_ (bottom row, third column) also comes _highly_ recommended. She was also 8 in that one. (In a little pre-song interview, she said that she was about to travel to the U.S. and would be singing there. That was an allusion to her upcoming appearance on _The View_ .)
Think this was originally called The hungeryen suicide song, made popular by Billie.
Nice review. Okay, I'll go spend $7,000.00 on a larger monitor so I can see the performer screen at an adequate size . . . . . . . take care, rh
Looks like Angie's momentum has stalled out as an adult. Maybe something is up with the record company. Strangely she doesn't master her own material live as well as previousl songs. Now, The Warning is killing it, Angie...not so much. I'm bummed.
