      hehe thank you Carmine. I would love to do football. Maybe never for NFL but HS football sure. I can do this. NHL hockey I would enjoy more, only because I like that sport.

    The rendering is gorgeous, hands down! What a beast of a lens! I'm personally not a prime super telephoto kinda guy and I appreciate art and craftsmanship when I see them, and this is both at their finest! Congrats my man, you look very happy :) Enjoy your dream lens!

      Thank you so much Yamen. I was revisiting this video today and I totally missed these comments for some reason. this 600 truly is amazing. Yes the 800 PF is great this and that. but something about the rendering of this lens IMO is awesome.

    First, let me say my mouth is watering looking at that lens.... - both of them! You hit on something I tell a lot of new photographers or say in my video - it takes practice, practice, practice. It kills me seeing new folks out there with loads of money, all new gear, and they have no idea how to set it up. I am still debating on the Z9 (I fell in love with it when I rented it), and that has made me go back to my D800 for my wildlife - no eye tracking, no IBIS, no peaking, no EVF, no simulation - just me watching my settings ....... and I LOVE it!!!.Watching this while editing photos, I think I just found my next lens rental - oh man, I am in love with what that can do. I will use if for my wildlife!!! 💖🤗🙏

      Thank you Johnny. I love my 600 FL. It really is an inspiring lens. The more you try and fail the better you get. I have some much to learn when it comes to these long teles but I take it and enjoy the process of getting better. Love my D800. I still have that camera. Reminds me, Im gonna go out and shoot with it soon. Something special about the D800 image files I really love. Believe it or not, D850 is cool, I prefer the D800 image.

    • @JonnyPink65
      @JonnyPink65 2 роки тому

      @@Vahagraphy Out of all my cameras, the D800 has always been my favorite - the Z9 has that same magic in the images. I like going between cameras and systems - each time I do I find something that sparks that love all over again - like going between guitars.... or drum kits!! I picked up the D800 again a couple of months ago after not using it for a while with my old 300 F2.8.... and it was heaven! That lens works extremely well on the Z9 too. And yeah, the more we work on on craft, the better we get. What I found going back to the old DSLR is I have to THINK about each shot, the settings - everything, so I feel like a real photographer all over again and the shots are all me, not the camera helping me along. I LOVE it. I shot the Z9 that way too - such a pleasure to shoot. Enjoy your D800 - I am going back to mine for a while until I get the Z9. That whopping 4 FPS..... man, I LOVE it! 🤗

    Fantastic overview of the 600. Especially with "manual focus" becoming a lost art, you showed just how awesome the lens is. Nikon could use this as a marketing video. 🙂 ... Hey 600 - "how YOU doin"? (Friends TV show reference).

      THank you Charles. I was watching this video today and sometimes you look back at your earlier stuff and you miss a few things. I also noticed I did not respond to any of these comments in this video. I don't thing much of my own videos because .. well they are my videos. haha. but this one I really like. Probably my favorite out of all. the lens has allot to do with it. lol

    It's so gorgeous that you can do no wrong. That hammock! (for my 300, I'm a big fan of the Wimberly gimbal - when balanced, it stays wherever it points, and the RRS and Wimberly feet/plates go great together)

    That is a really good Super Telephoto lens, it got really good sharpness, bokeh and color for it's focal length. The birds and the ducks look very nice in the video and photos with this lens.

    The TC-14e III is harder to find these days than the 600mm FL. I haven't had a chance to play with my 600mm or 800mm with the Z9 yet but can't wait. I suggest getting a good gimbal head for support. I'm currently using the Benro, it seems to have the right amount of tension for birding. Also a good idea to have a quality monopod. That beast WILL get heavy after a few minutes. :). Good stuff as always.

      Thank you Dave. Im having allot of fun with this 600 so far. You bet the tciii 1.4 is very hard to find. Not sure what the new market is like now but used market, yes very tough to find one at a good price.

  • @fredsbloggs656

    Had the 600 FL for four or five years or so ..... decided to build a lighter smaller lenshood out of carbon fibre ... it weighs 130 gms ...... I nearly always use it handheld even with the TC14E III and rarely use a tripod ........ enjoy your FL !!

  • @stevelandphotography

    Isn't it fun to use?! It does take getting used to finding anything in the EVF. Ive had mine almost 2 years and still its not easy. The 1.4 works great on it. Wait till you get your Z9 for it. It gets even better. I use a monopod with mine with the Winberley SIdekick. Works for me really well. Enjoy!

    • @Vahagraphy
      @Vahagraphy  2 роки тому

      YOu are right about the Z9. WOW. what a camera and lens. Yes the Z6 is a fun camera too shoot, but the Z9 is the RIGHT camera to shoot with this lens. Loving it so far. EVF is tough sometimes out an about but with the new firmware. I heard things get even better.

    Nice buy.... I am jealous, definitely too expensive for me as I would only use it for pure pleasure.
    Definitely get a gimbal for it, it’s a game changer, the possibility of having the system perfectly balanced and still free/unlocked at the same time is awesome.

      Thank you Nilo. I love this lens and with the Z9 its even better. Yes even with the FTZ I adapter. no problem. Focus is fast and very responsive . LOVE IT. Honestly I don't need it but I figured. If I go on a vacation, I blow 5K. or more. rather skip a trip for one year and get this. lol

    I’ve been lucky enough to own this lens since mid 2015. It’s stunning quality. I only have a D3s body but even with that image quality is superb. Just need to start mugging old ladies now to get a z9 to go with it. 🤣😱. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

    • @Vahagraphy
      @Vahagraphy  2 роки тому

      hehe don't mug old ladies. ask them kindly and they might write you a check. lol. People talking about the 800 PF Z. but honestly. the 600 FL is .. well you know. You own one. Its different when you actually own and use one isn't it. You truly appreciate the work of brilliance this lens really is. 8 pounds, doesnt bother me at all.

    I actually prefer to use professional video tripods with a large fluid head for all photography, especially when using a 600mm lens. My choice is a Vinten. It is a sturdy tripod with very smooth and fluid movements that is vital with super telephoto lenses, especially when using manual focus for video & stills.

    • @Vahagraphy
      @Vahagraphy  2 роки тому +1

      I've seen a few guys out there use fluid heads. I since got a gimbal and I will be putting it to the test soon.

    I hear what you are saying about not making fiancially, but in the long term it is worth it. I have a Nikon 200mm F/2. The best lens I own, but I am now reaching out further and further. So, hello 600mm. The problem is, you have to use a gimble and a monopole or tripod. I like the 400mm it is super fast, but the 600 really reaches out there.

    V How sharp!!!!! I got a few things from this video. 1 you need to go where the birds are! Location, location, location! Patience my ass! 2 Try a zoo for practice, a lot of subjects and pick a time and day that's not so busy and you can carry your rig without a crowd. 3 Don't go near that hammock with the challenge going, You couldn't get my lazy ass out of that thing with a gun. 4 buy a bird feeder and put it out near the pool with the light that's just right, google home bird environment, or something like that. You tube a guy named Darrel Oakden an English guy that took it to the extreme but you will get some hints from him on setting up perches near the feeders that make good spots to shoot at. The lens looks fantastic and I'm going to take a nap now after looking at the hammock, it's power of suggestion. I look forward t seeing a lot more of the 600mm in the future.

    Nice video, would love to own the FL version but have to be satisfied with the G version of the 600mm f/4.0, I sold my 400mm f/2.8 G version to get the 600mm f/4.0.
    As you mentioned probably more hobby photographers own a beast like the 400mm,500mm, or 600mm, and even an 800mm.
    I probably am going to stop with my sports photography and just focus on portraits and birds photography.....
    Don't get me wrong I do love the fact that I own a 600mm f/4.0 and my support system is a Benro tripod (Benro TMA38CL Mach3) and a Benro gimbal GH5C and both are great to support my 600mmf/4.0. Take a look if you haven't found good support for your 600mm yet.
    I also sold my TC 2.0 version III to get a TC 1.4 version III which I do love more than the 2.0 version III. I'm happy I made the switch.

      Hi Pim. That tcIII is a hot item thse days. No one has it anywhere. My Tc x2 II is bad. but the tc III 1.4 . so amazing. I used to own the 600 G very briefly in 2013. I had to sell it cash reasons. but that thing was a beast.
