I have a lot of respect for these men, but I strongly disagree with them when it comes to standardized testing. From my own experience, the issue in school was not the test. The issue was that the teacher didn't know the material well enough to teach it and didn't know how to inspire kids to learn. Teaching is, largely, impossible. What you must do is inspire kids to learn. That inspiration is going to be different for every kid, but the material they learn better not be.
@J Don So you agree with me that their issue with standardized testing is misplaced?
