This was When Nigeria was true one, any tribe can speak all 3 major languages in Nigeria fluently. Igbos can speak Yoruba and Hausa and Yoruba person can speak Igbo and Hausa and Hausa person can speak Yoruba and igbo language very well. ❤❤❤❤
Stella Monye remains evergreen in my memory since 1984 when I was in primary 2. I love the song and use to sing it on my way to school and farm even while in our cocoa farm working. Nigerians are wonderful people.
wow, good memories. Is amazing how a single song back then could reign & last for up tp five to 10 to years. I was a five years old primary 1 student in 1991 and this song was very big and popular in Calabar where i was born and raised. I use to think it was a new song back then, little did I know the song was released in 1983 long before I was born 😛😃
I was in Primary five when the music was released in 1982. I was going Afternoon School when I heard the music from the cassette seller in our neighborhood😊. I so much loved the music as a teenager. Here I'm in 2025 as a grown up responsible adult with family😊😊. Wonderful days of yore!
Thank you so much for uploading this song. I used to cry each time my late dad played this song. I would even beg him to play it. God bless you. Please do you have Victor orwifor (I don't know the title, but some part of it goes... If u dance and run away I no go green ooo.... Ogbona mi no go die ye ogbona)
I thought I was the only one that's usually disappointed when I see all these beautiful oldies having very discouraging views and low traffic in the comments section.
These are the real Nigerian music stars, songs with meaning, oh I remember my late cabin crew friend OJ, he loves this song like kilode, singing and dancing to the song in the cabin
Just woke up this morning with the song on my lips. Good old days of music, bringing back sweet memories of me playing the song on my dad's turntable in the military barracks
I used to hear this song in the mid 80s as a kid and I always cried. I think it was emotive for me. I actually thought it was from Christy Essien Igbokwe. Thanks for uploading it.
Thanks for leaving this message. Do you remember why it made you so emotional? There is definitely a sort of nostalgic quality to the song that I can't put my finger on personally. It must be her voice.
This is a song that makes one long for a better Nigeria. Now, there is this song she sang which i think is titled 'Stella Monye'. I may be wrong. But that song pales this song and 'Arigo samba' into nothingness notwithstanding that they are classics. Having said this, this is one of the songs I will like played for me when i achieve a major milestone. Tis inspirational.
This album seems to have a lot of meaning for folks who were growing up in Nigeria in the 80s. Can anyone tell me why? Is it something about the lyrics?
I have been dying to have this song out here but without a trace. I'm just asking, can you lay a hand on her earlier entry with the track IFE and upload it for us? I'm in love with these two songs by Stella and for bringing happiness to me through entertainment like this, does anyone has a lead to her contact? I read about her story and would gladly like to also contribute my token to her effort on her son. A little way to return that joy of heart. Thanks.
@Jacob Harris: Can you please field "Ife" by Stella Monye here please for her dying fans like me. I have looked for it at every place to no avail. Thanks.

This kind of song is extraneous to a society that does not value the presence of a husband or father in the home.
