  • Gilera 150 sport . Presented in 1952 as heir to the eighth-litre, the 150 will be the best-selling Gilera ever, with no less than 96,000 examples (excluding those built in Argentina by the local branch). The engine was revised by the technicians Antonio Parolo, Franco Passoni and Luigi Piazza (under the supervision of the new director of the Gilera Experience Service, engineer Sandro Colombo), bringing the bore to 60 mm and maintaining the stroke of the 125. The increase was due also to the rules that imposed the labeling of the eighth of a liter, until then exempted. Two versions were initially available: Turismo and Sport, which differed mainly in the front suspension (parallelogram for Turismo, telescopic for Sport). For both, the gearbox remained 3-speed. Already in 1953, however, the Sport gained a 4-speed.
1953 also saw the entry into the catalog of the Demonstration, a more stringent model built in a limited series. They were followed by the Gran Turismo (1955), Super Sport and Rossa Super (1957). Production ceased in 1960.
