There is no piano in the original. Joe Perry delivers epic guitar picking that is a crucial part of this songs success. I disagree this has more oomph than the original. I suggest you listen to the original again. Yes, Sam ignores the guitar picking of the original but the piano delivers a flatter, less dynamic rendition than Joe Perry gives, even in the later part of the song. That was part of the original songs charisma was how dynamic the guitar work was, as were the vocals, starting softer but building to high intensity as the song progressed. I think Liliac's version is ok but misses this component, even though it does seem they tried to amp it up some. I've listened to both versions dozens of times since this came out trying to find what bothers me about this version. It is mainly the intro erasing Joe Perry's epic guitar picking in the intro. It's just unforgivable to me to remove such a critical component of the original. But this is just me. I love Liliac and their work, just not as thrilled with this one as I have been their others.

@@ket0_t0ne39 Steven Tyler does play piano in this song but not in the intro and it not a central part of the song like Joe Perry's guitar is. Note: being hostile doesn't improve your arguments.

@@ket0_t0ne39 You should reread my comment. I wrote that I was ok except for this intro guitar picking issue. This is saying I am not complaining about the vocals, which are anything but note by note cover. I actually like the vocals. I could live with the flatness of piano performing the intro if Sam's guitar intro had included that epic guitar picking which was such a huge component of the original. To me erasing this component is like performing the song and removing key lyrics. I am disappointed more than irritated by it. I listened to a great review of the original recently by a classical musician. The things she pointed out about the genius of the build up of the original opening made this just that much more clear to me.
