I saw this house with a big blue sign posted on the front door that said it was being put up for auction due to tax foreclosure. I spoke with the next door neighbor and she told me that it’s been vacant for a while after the homeowner passed away. 2 families have been fighting over who gets the home and neither of them bothered to pay the taxes. Well, now neither get the home so I thought I could at least clean the yard up to make it look better for the neighborhood.

The family members were so overwhelmed with greed they didn't see the big picture. Together fix it up and sell the property and split the money and go on there merry way never to see each other again. Plus the house would have given someone in need a home. Now they lost and the bank wins again.
That's why all of my assets (including my paid-for home) are in a living trust. There will be no fighting over assets when I'm gone!

While I love watching SBMowing, I love watching the homes with someone living inside that isn’t able to do it themselves. I find it more rewarding when someone sees their lives changed by a good mowing of their yard that improves their home. And life.

There's a lesson to be learned from this - 'cuz 2 families were fighting about it so neither paid the taxes, both families lose. The city gets the auction money, they get nothing. It will sell a lot faster now that it doesn't look abandoned. Great work SB!
Another perfect example of somewhere a HOMELESS VET (OR TWO) can be placed. The CITY is the owner for probably no more than a grand or two in back taxes (which is B.S. to begin with). Put a Homeless vet there, and he'll not only be safer, but HEALTHIER. They'll be able to pay a couple bucks a month "rent" so the city doesn't lose it's precious tax funds either.
Being an ELDERLY disabled vet, who's BEEN homeless because of rent, I'm here to tell you I'd STILL be _more that happy_ to pay $100-$200 / month to rent this, which would MORE than pay back the city on it's taxes. When you *ONLY GET* $1200/month on S.S. and PAY $1000/month for rent, your food choices aren't very good. So I STILL have to work IN PAIN (no cartilage in my R ankle and a never healed broken L foot) so I can eat something more than potatoes every day.

Disabled combat vet here as well who @ 64 cannot pay rent nor buy food, for my wife, as I practically gave up food in 2020. You know I'm sure that pandering pols would put illegals in that home for free before they gave a second thought to acting on those campaign promises about veterans. We would defend the Flag again in a heartbeat, wouldn't we, Brother. Best.
Don't forget...the bank is involved. And that's what keeps it from going to anyone. New immigrants are moved into a foster family home, a relatives home, or a very small apt. They have 1-3 months to get a job & start paying rent on the apt or they lose it. Mostly volunteers & donors help them. They do get a couple hundred dollars & an old donated phone that's been refurbished to allow them to access job sites to look for jobs.
You probably increased the auction bids just by doing the clean up! You are an amazing young man.

My dad had a similar experience when he mowed over a clump of chives we had at the edge of our garden. We didn't have chives after that. LOL

Glad you and Mrs. SB took sometime out for each other and had nice dinner. Really sad when family fight over personal belongings when someone dies. If they worked together they each could have had some and respect to the one who passed. I like the little extra things you do and try making the video better. It's so sad that these two families were so blinded by their greed that they managed to ruin it for everyone involved. It's the story of Solomon and the Two Mothers in real life.
Probly couldn't pay equal parts. Of tax.. if the mom passed it should've come out of her insurance..maybe .to bad looks like a nice property.
@@karenklucas923 while I agree, if the mother had massive health bills, the insurance goes to that and the federal government has a right to take it to pay insurance bills. I don't think it was a case of fighting, maybe some, but it may be that it was best to let it foreclose and move on. The one thing banks cannot do legally is go after next of kin if they are not on any agreement for the home. My friend went through this with her mother's house after she died of cancer. It cost her thousands in lawyers alone.

Good morning. Glad to see you took some time for you and the Misses. You work very hard and long hours on those tough jobs, but to much is not good for your body or your mind. We don't to see what happened to Al happen to another of the mowers . We really enjoy you and the work you do for others.
The only simple reason I watch these types of videos is because I still know there are people around who do care for others. It's amazing to see the difference which you bring to these local areas. You should be so proud of yourself.
That's gotta be some of the thickest grass you've ever cut!!! Usually it's lots of weeds but that looks like it would recovery nicely :)
Love watching your video's, and you helping out your community. I had one pop up on my feed a couple of months ago, and now I'm addicted to watching them. Cut my lawn for the first mowing of the season yesterday here in NW Florida, would have edged and the weed eating, but could not get my power head to crank, had it for a while, guess it's time for an upgrade.

The reality is... neighbors want failure. I bought city parks that dozens of neighbors had been offered. They were messes! I cleaned them up. Cost me a few thousand, and a whole summer, and a couple of neighbors were nice enough,... but behind their drapes, many were suspicious, and upset. As the parks got pretty, most got jealous. Anger, jealousy, snide looks, calls to the City, etc. Mostly nasty.
