....but did you FEEL it? That is the question. Nobody will ever play with more feel, emotion and fire than Gary Moore. Saw him lots of times live. Best guitarist to ever walk the earth.
Man don't even get me started
Still got the blues is just as emotional if not more
Man Gary moore was some kinda monster
@@Sensei.shonuff Corridors of power all day this guy is amazing
Over the Hills and Far Away
Thank you Polo for reacting to this..i have never heard Empty Rooms before. What an outstanding guitarist Gary Moore was. I don't know where I was in the early 80's..
Still got the blues for you. My favorite one from him.
Still got the blues live from hammersmith Odeon 1990, the messiah will come again live montreaux 91, parisienne walkways live royal Albert Hall 92 or the loner live from Sweden 87 same concert as empty rooms..Gary as you said had it all, playing fast or slow, always clean and full of soul and emotion .
Great to see a young guy experiencing , for him, new music and artists.
Wow this was a treat! Never heard of him before Thanks Polo and the person who suggested this video!
Great song! Love it!
NOBODY had better control over the distortion like Gary…he’s #2 next to SRV imo
Terry Kath (RIP), Chicago, 25 or 6 to 4....live, Tanglewood...unbelievable solo. Even Hendrix said Terry was was the best. (Igor Paspalj...Breakneck...another unreal solo, check it out too.)
Gary was a typical working class north England lad 👍 that song is about his sister and him and the poverty and neglect they experienced as kids, Empty rooms.. where we learned to live without love..two little kids, with a very bleak future ahead of them.😔 I think it effected Gary all of his life, R.I.P. Gaz..❤️
He was Irish
@@themove1904 I'm Irish mate... another offshore paddy 🤣 Liverpool 🤣🤣🤣
Gary was Irish 🇮🇪but did live in England.. northern English life identical to Irish life back in the days
Seems to me like Gary Moore and David Gilmour influenced each other quite a bit
To me one of the most under appreciated guitarists of all time
Still Got the Blues for You.
classic
My favorite ❤❤❤
Gary RIP❤ ,dont forget the great Aussie bass player Bob Daisly❤
America had SRV and Europe had Gary Moore. Two of the absolute best to ever do it. Stevie shredded strings and played dirty nasty blues, Gary burned amps to ground and poured his soul through every note. Their souls were fused to their instruments in a way few will ever be blessed enough to approach.
THE MESSIAH WILL COME AGAIN.... More feeling, emotions, extraordinary talent, expression, stage presens, showmanship, love for playing his instrument, passion to inspire and delight your fans, is not possible. Only Gary can do that, in my opinion. I was lucky enough to see him live on stage once. Here in Cologne, Germany on his "After the War" tour in 1989. Before he switched to the Blues. Unimaginable and unforgettable experience and defently a lifechanger for me. R.I.P. GARY
Oh yes! Most definitely. Live.
World class performance
Saw Gary do The Messiah will come again,as an encore at Manchester Apollo...wow oh wow...he almost took the roof off... Amazing to say the least.🎸🎶❤️
Yes, best solo ever!!!
Gary Moore had been playing since the 60's and also played in the Irish rock band Thin Lizzy (he was good friends w/ late bassist/vocalist Phil Lynott)... He launched a solo career in the 70's and was pretty big in Europe by the 80's... Unfortunately, he didn't break big in America until his blues album 'Still got the blues' sold gold in the US in 1990... That success sort of limited his fame as a blues guitarist (He was more of a hard rock guitarist & vocalist w/ heavy blues influences) Tragically, he struggled w/ alcohol abuse and passed away in 2011 at age 58.
You are watching a master of his craft Gary Moore was by far one of the best guitarists of his generation along with David Gilmour.
Gilmour is excellent but nowhere near Gary Moore. In my opinion.
Gary Moore is a god. Great reaction.
This video came from the comment section great pick!
Blood, Sweat & Tears had a song - I'll love you more than you'll ever know . Gary does a phenomenal version of that song! Beth Hart & Joe Bonomassa also do it justice...
Parisienne Walkways! Still got the Blues! Great Stuff from a Great Artist!
Yes! 👍👍Parisienne Walkways.
Thanks for the great coverage of some of our favorite artists. Have you listened to Still Got The Blues yet? Gary is just great, what can I say.....
A great melodic solo. Very Jeff Beck-ish. Gary could really make that guitar sing
Also died way too young; fucking alcohol.
Still got the blues for you
Gary Moore
Parisienne Walkways too!
Yes to both! 👍👍
If you haven't seen Joe Bonomassa's version of Still Got the Blues Live at the Beacon Theater, it is "Other Worldly".
@@raytull3922 Thanks!

Please recognize Janis Ian. She wrote "Societies Child" in her early teens. "At Seventeen" a standout
You will never ever hear a better guitar player than Gary Moore👍
David Gilmour
Not even close but he is a decent guitarist. Don't think much of the band either.
@@chip8204 I was lucky enough to see David Gilmore 30 years ago and he is high on my favorite guitarist list, but Gary is on another level, one that only Gary has ever been able to reach.
My favourite guitarist, worlds best emotive player. Parisienne walkways, messiah will come again, sky is crying. All his live stuff. Incredible guitarist. One of the goats
the high point of Gary's fame was my teens. I was 19 when this was performed. He was truly great. His early hard rock stuff is excellent. And his blues is phenomenal
If you are a genuine guitar 🎸 music lover then Gary is you're man, He played with love , passion, conviction and dedication to his art... I loved him and miss him every day 🎶🎸❤️😞
One of the GOATS!
Gary is sorely missed.
The thrill is gone bb king and Gary Moore it’s fire🇨🇦🔥🇨🇦
It is truly an empty room without Gary Moore.
Gary Moore was a Guitar God
His stuff with Thin Lizzy was flawless
Without, too.
Gary Moore's cover of Red House (live). 🔥🔥
100%
R.I.P Gary, You're still the Best...🙏💯💔
His work with Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce on BBM's Around The Next Dream was also outstanding. Absolutely brilliant guitarist with such unique tone. Some of us have been lucky enough to escape our demons and come out healthy on the other side. He was not. RIP Gary Moore.
Parisienne Walkways ❤️
Gary is an absolute beast!…he’s made so much music it’s hard to get a feel for him from one song…dive deeper
The influence of Peter Green is unmistakable in Gary’s playing and I love Parisienne Walkways which he recorded and played on Greeny until he sold it.
He did right by Peter Green with his playing The Supernatural on the the Blues for Greeny recording.
@@dansloan4169 Agreed. The Supernatural is an amazing song and I didn’t think anyone else would get that much sustain with that much feel out of a guitar, but yeah, Gary did that.
Loved watching your face during this one. I could tell it got to you. Greatest solo? No. Not even the greatest Gary Moore solo. There are better. But it was indeed a hell of a performance.
Love it!! So unexpected! Never heard of this person before but will have to more! Thank you for airing this❤❤
the best guitarist
Hi Mr. Polo, Great, U should review the live version of "Still Got The Blues" and "Parisienne Walkways" ♠Mr.G..
You have to watch/listen to The Loner from the same concert. Simply mindblowing !!
IMHO, Gary's performance of "Red House" at the Fender Stratocaster Anniversary show is better than this. Jimi Hendrix would be proud.
I was THERE
Damn, man. How lucky.
The Messiah will come...live
Virtuoso performance..
He's got way bettwr stuff than this.
Some of it mentioned.
One of the best concerts ever..... Live in Stockholm. The Looner is a masterpiece,
I definitely need to go down the Gary Moore rabbit hole. Wow!!!
And I need to go and saw my respects to him. He's buried in a very unassuming plot about 30 mins from where I live :)
@@michaeldean7220I went to Gary's grave at St Margaret's Church Rottingdean in 2022 on a sunny summer day. It's a lovely quiet spot to stop & think for a bit.
Check out Rory Gallagher too
Gary Moore was one of the badasses.
Red house, at the 50 years of stratocaster concert, after that the guitar needs a smoke when Gary is finnished.
He used the EMG 81 pickup here.
I was lucky to see Gary on this tour in a small club in Providence, RI. I still have photos and a guitar pick from the show. One of the best live performances I've ever witnessed.
Both David and Gary play with full emotion & passion! THAT is the similarity you're hearing. I've been playing guitar for 57 years now, since I was 8 (I am no where NEAR even a good guitarist) and have watched/listened to them all over the decades. Gary is right up there with the very best of them! In my view, he's in the top 25 easily. This was an outstanding solo from him, and very much a demonstration of that emotion and passion that he played with. Plus, he had great vocals!
Well said! Seen them both live, David solo and the two tours with post Roger, Floyd. Was a fan of Gary's in Lizzy, saw him live from his rocking days of Corridors of Power all through his blues era. There few guitarists that can squeeze as much emotion out of a single note as those two guys.
Now, Jeff Beck... "Where Were You"
Similar feel
Parisian walkway
He was da best!
The Messiah will come again, is truly amazing
Now this is the kind of music i truly love.
Gary Moore Parisienne Walkways live at Montreux has possibly the greatest guitar solo ever recorded.

When your music theory is ten out of ten and your soul is 12 out of ten...
Peter Green basically "gave" Greenie to Gary Moore.
Now it's soiled by Kirk Whammit
Congrats, you have arrived at the finest of the finest.
"As the Years Go Passing By".......phenomenal. Rest In Peace Gary Moore, GODSPEED.
Every great guitarist has a recognizable sound. You know Beck, Gilmor,Page ,SRV, etc. You know Gary
Peter Green, Frank Morano, Robin Trower,, to add to your fine list
@@rodneymacomber6337 absolutely,! I just spent a month or so visiting with Green on old tracks 💕💕Now I have some others to revisit
Blackmore!
This is a great song. Gary’s solo album “Corridors of Power” is also excellent! Gary also played guitar for Greg Lake on his early 80’s solo albums. They are worth a listen also.
Just listen to Thin Lizzy.
This will be heading right for my playlist
The song sounds so much like the 1980s. Specifically like the late 1980s. There is definitely a difference between what was going on musically in the early 1980s and then the late 1980s.
Sorry I dint know this guy is his band and whatnot. I thought this was a Journey song. Ya gotta admit this guy sounds a lot like Steve Perry, yes? 🎶 🎵
🎼 💿 And the guitar here is magnificent!! 😮
Check out The Messiah will come again.
I was so happy to see him on stage. 🇫🇮🤟
Dammmmm thats good.
The truth is the late Gary Moore was almost out of the business until he made an album mostly for himself called “Still Got The Blues” and BOOM! Grammy time and top selling album.
Polo, because you loved this song so much and Gary Moore’s musical genius, l highly recommend that you listen to ‘Parisienne Walkways’ with Gregg Lake and Gary Moore. The song is stunning and the guitar work is superb! A hauntingly beautiful song. Thank you.
Been going to gigs for over 40yrs, Gary was the best guitar player I've had the pleasure to see. His rendition of Hendrix' Red House at the Fender Anniversary Awards will knock your socks off.
Just found your channel, I enjoy the way you watch and listen instead of interrupting. You allow yourself to experience it and then share your thoughts. There’s another version of this when he’s much older that is just amazing. Gary passed several years ago, heartbroken and an alcoholic. He was an amazing guy and guitarist. Thanks for reviewing this!
Two of the best blues guitarist come from Ireland 🇮🇪Rory Gallagher and Gary Moore ☘️💚
I humbly asked for Parisienne Walkways with Gary Moore and Gregg Lake. I see that many others are asking for this song as well. Here’s hoping and thank you for listening and sharing!
I appreciate you listening to great music 🎶 ❤
From a different generation
Great reaction Polo - pls react to Parisienne Walkways live in Dublin a real banger like Empty Rooms - You will love it plus Bad Reputation Thin lizzy and Gary Moore live -Epic
The start sounds a little Jeff Beckish but just a great song. Thanks POLO.
God, Gary is a God....but in my opinion this is the most comercial song besides his ultrahit still got the blues (recommended too) my favorite is Parisienne Walkways where he makes his guitar cries like no one, a total beast.
I've also suggested this song a couple of months ago. Great to hear you react to it!
Gary was the greatest
And will likely always be the greatest!
BS There will only be one Prince.Playung while my guitar gently weeps.Moore pales in comparison. Teddy G.
Polo, I hope you will react to Haley Reinhart and PostModern Jukebox covering "Don't Speak" by No Doubt.
I love your channel, Polo! Thank you for your work!!
I´m like you in that I don´t like saying that "this is THE best ever". When it comes to any instrument, there are different times, genres, ways of playing, available tech, different styles and different feelings. BUT, I feel comfortable in saying "DON`T MISS THIS!" - he was _one_ of the best. Anyone on the "Guitar Road" can´t just skip Gary. RIP.
Still got the blues for you
Check out the original version Roy Buchanan
incredible (almost not credible) if you heard this you wouldn't believe he's doing all that.
He draws you in with such feeling .. perfection!
Honestly, although he’s not my favorite guitarist (I do enjoy it he’s just not at my #1 place) I believe that the title of “greatest live electric guitar solo” goes to Jimi Hendrix playing machine gun at the filmore east. One of the few times jimi showed just how good he was outside of the studio.
He also couldn't even carry claptons guitar case.
