On my 1977 cj5 with model 20 rear axle I always changed fluid at least every 30 000 miles. One day fill plug would not come loose. Had to heat it completely red hot and it finally moved. Made no sense why it locked up. Replaced with a square head plug and now fully coat with anti seize. Learned from you that the 2a has a drain plug. Pretty cool. My 1971 Dana 44 doesn't have that. Sure don't want that coming loose.
