Even after Ellie cuts Joel out of her life and berates him for saving her, he stands by his decision. That’s how you know Joel truly loves Ellie. And that’s what makes his conclusion that much more heartbreaking.
Q is legit. Don't trust the media. I wouldn’t say the second game isn’t canon. I think what Part II tried to achieve is that in a world of chaos and anarchy there is no such thing as a villain. At the end of the day who you consider bad is a matter of perspective. To Ellie, Abby is the enemy because of what she did to Joel and to Abby it’s Joel because of what he did to her father. The make or break aspect of the game is whether you end up liking Abby in the 10 hour section when you play as her. For some it worked and for others it didn’t and therefore the dichotomy between the fan base. Regarding the ending, I feel the game should have given a choice to kill Abby or not. If you kill her Ellie loses everything including Dina and JJ and if you spare her Ellie gets to live her life. As Arthur Morgan said: “Revenge is a fools game”
Tlou 2 is a game about Ellie losing her self because of Joel's death. (Almost losing her self because she left Abby to go in the end),By doing terrible things, things even worst than Joel did to save her. THOMAS KAGKELARIS Yeah she is loosing herself but because of her obsession with revenge and Abby not because the things she actually does( torturing and killing Abby freinds) they always attacked her first so I wouldn’t say it’s that terrible. All survivors in this world does killing and torture so I wouldn’t say it’s terrible things worse than what Joel, Abby, Tommy,Firefly,WLF,hunters and many others did
i wish they made abby kidnapp him and torture him for what he did, that would've made the story better, better than killing him in my opinion, anything but killing him, you don't kill off that man like that, you just don't.
It’s a post apocalyptic story full of characters doing brutal things in a broken and dead world. Joel’s death fits perfectly into the themes and tone of the series. People reacted like this, similarly to TWD with Negan killing Abe & Glenn, simply because it’s difficult to watch beloved characters die. Even worse to see them killed in such a cold and calculating manner. Joel’s death is essentially a warning to Ellie. It’s a message to learn from the mistakes of those that came before her, the ones that committed brutal acts in the name of survival. His actions led to this outcome. It’s also a reminder to the player that just because Jackson is civilised and safe, the outside world isn’t.
Scott Exactly. In my opinion, had Joel not suffered the consequences of his actions in Part II, the story would have been significantly weaker. I appreciate the fact Naughty Dog and Druckmann took many risks with this game instead of creating a fan service second part that gave Joel and Ellie plot armour for no reason.
@@axinite77 umm i think they should have killed joel when they wanted to end the franchise certainly not in the second part where they're planning on a part 3 cuz believe it or not joel and ellie's relationship made this game interesting its the reason people waited 7 years for a sequel and now there's just no reason to wait for another game they ripped out the heart of the franchise i personally think they should have killed joel in part 3 giving the player a little bitter sweet ending and closing the franchise
God I hated Ellies response to Joel when he finally told her the truth. It's like... bitch, Joel fucking did everything he did for you. Even if it wasn't the right choice, you can't change it now. Why treat him like shit? Made me seriously dislike Ellie. This series had so much potential... how could they have fucked it up so bad?
