      @@BACKPACKERish I also appreciate your demeanor, your balanced sense of self. Honestly - I've just watched a few more of your videos, and there is a quality of character in you. I also admire anyone who has the courage to hike solo. I always hike with a friend/sister/daughter/granddaughter, but would love to develop the courage to hike solo. Anyways - I sure look forward to exploring Kananaskis. (I'm doing the skyline Trail in Jasper with my daughter this summer!) Thank you again for your video(s) and all the best on your hiking "career"!

      There are some places that just hit like that. I find they make all the harder parts of life easier to handle. If you’re close to kcountry, this is one of the must see hikes for sure!

    Great video. I was there last week, being out of shape, I had a tough time going up the first 2 km.
    My friend had surgery last year and started getting symptoms of his previous illness, so we decided to go back. Overall a good experience non the less.

      I get that! This trail will definitely remind you if you're not in "game shape", but it's great that you got out anyways!
      If I read that right, you guys decided to turn back? I have bailed on several trips and have never once regretted it. The potential risks should always outweigh ego, so I have nothing but respect for those decisions.

      @BACKPACKERish thanks for the quick reply. Yeah my buddy had surgery last year and half way to the top started getting intestinal symptoms which required surgery last year.
      I was more than happy to turn back, since his health is more important to me than getting to the top.
      We'll be back! And made a vow to be 30 or 40 lbs lighter. 😂🤣😅

      And sub'd btw! Thanks for the great content. Clearly the best video on UA-cam regarding this trailhead.

    Does PickleJar Lakes require a reservation to backcountry camp (since it's located in Elbow-Sheep Provincial Park), or it's random camping (first come first serve)?

    • @BACKPACKERish
      @BACKPACKERish  2 місяці тому +1

      You need a conservation pass for the area, but thankfully it’s random camping in all the wildland provincial parks. No services, no sites, no reservations!
