- Doctors and engineers from Massachusetts General Hospital and MIT are trying to revolutionize cancer detection through an artificial intelligence program called Sybil. Their study found that Sybil could accurately predict whether a person will develop lung cancer in the next year up to 94 percent of the time. NBC News’ Dr. John Torres reports.

Not really early detection, but something much better - prediction.
Experiencing holistic wellness with igrotum. Its not just a cure; its a promoter of overall well-being.
I got a question, can "A I" find away to lower medical costs? Maybe, even eliminate all debts?
GIven that most healthcare costs are from administration and billing and coding (in the USA, at least) , replacing those systems with AI tools can definitely make healthcare significantly more affordable.
You can pay more taxes and have free healthcare like in Europe.
then those people will come and say how doctors are not paid enough
Hurry it up
Ai will at some point really change medicine, but one thing I don't want to get lost is the translation, the science back from the Ai to doctors so that doctors can understand what and why the Ai is finding what it does. With how medicine is treated now days, I am very worried Ai will just be used for detection and not understanding. The patterns that Ai discovers don't come out in a readable text form for doctors to learn from let alone an understanding of why. As Ai is used particularly in medicne we need to keep up and not take for granted, what is observed to translate it into better understandings and hopefully cures -cancer survior
I think understanding how these algorithms work will eventually be a required thing in medical schools in the future. Also thankfully there are tons of researchers who fully understand how these things work. A lot of times these scientists are the ones giving lectures at medical schools to begin with
@@biopharmmarkets2115 I was refering to the "blackbox" internal side of Ai in that machine learning will recognize a patern and gain an pediction of likelyhood based on that understanding. That understanding Ai has reached it by comparisons and looking at outcomes, Ai will not give you it's understanding, but rather it will still need to be research to be understood. What currently an Ai is truely "learning" has to be broken out by computer sceintists based on data of it's logic then again translated to a medical researcher. Currently we cannot easily see what an Ai sees or be told by the Ai what the findings could mean. If that makes sense? All made trickier by the notion that once an Ai is trained it will continue to refine and therefore change, so it will be an ongoing process.
@@EthelbertCoyote Ahh I see what you mean now. Like they build a model that can learn then train them on huge sets of data but don't actually know what the AI does to get from a picture of an apple to the part where it can identify and distinguish it from other things (for example). Something like that?
@@biopharmmarkets2115 yup the translation is also going to imperfect so while progress will speed up by orders or magnitude so will the potential for errors, like in the children's game telephone. In all translations of Ai I worry about things like bias in and bias out as well, making the data a narative more than tested sigma science just because the data "was right the last 100 times". I pray Ai never "learns" human hubris.
It would just change the ways medecine is practised and interpreted. If used properly, this could be one of the biggest breakouts in medicine history. It doesnt matter if we cant cure Stage 4 cancer, but who needs a cure, if there is prevention?
I took that cancer screening blood test called "galleri" hoping this helps as well in the future. Come on technology.....
must say that I
have enormous respect for
you Dr kanayo Peterson considering the manner in which my wife receive her complete treatment for
HIV infection, thanks for coming to my rescue sir.
an friend of my friend have a cancer in the eye, so I wonder if maybe this is all on purpose
Gonna need it! Cancer coming in fast with new tech. Limit your “screen time”!! !!
@2:14 BS.
Interventional radiologists are safe, but the days of a human reading images is rapidly approaching a finally.
That’s Wonderfull
49-120
Early detection of lung cancer might be better performed using ai.
US health system: ☠️ debt.
igrotum has restored my optimism. Its a catalyst for positive change in my health.
igrotum is a name I trust in my battle against cancer. Its proving its reliability day by day.
Boosting resilience with igrotum. Its helping me face cancer challenges with strength.
and then skynet hacks the computer systems = destroy humans LOL
K33P CRYING....
Detection is Great$$$ for big pharma!
Oh my god bro do you want your lung cancer detected or not? Stick to your Facebook market supplements.
Omg..
This is ???able
Death is the gateway to eternal life
Flesh and blood can not enter. Amen!
And technology is also a gateway to eternal life.
Going to seem wonderful, but at what cost? AI will seem great but is it really?
SAY NO TO A.I😡😡😡
DOCTOR LIVES MATTERS😍😍😍
JUST KIDDING..., I HATE DEBT..,SO....
This AI model doesn’t work. I have tested this model with known lung nodules and the 6 year predictions were horrible. It could not even detect existing nodules and will it be able to 6 year prediction?
