- The Santa Monica Pier Unpermitted Vendor Task Force patrol on and around the Santa Monica Pier on Saturday, February 12, 2022. Santa Monica Code Enforcement Officer issued a citation. No food was confiscated by the Health Deputies. Santa Monica Police Officers responded to a fight between vendors at Santa Monica Beach. No arrests were made, a report was filed.
The task force today consisted of Santa Monica Police Officers, Santa Monica Fire Marshal Joe Cavin, Santa Monica Code Enforcement Officers, Santa Monica Fire Department personnel, Los Angeles County Heath Deputies, Santa Monica Harbor Patrol Officers, and private security guards.
The newly formed task force has been instrumental in helping to educate and enforce the City’s safety laws and ensuring safe sidewalk vending practices across the City.
According to information from the City of Santa Monica website www.santamonic... ; Santa Monica was one of the first cities in the state to develop a permitted vending program. The City's comprehensive program that has allowed permitted or licensed vendors to operate for over 30 years includes permitting processes and parameters for safe vending, and today over 150 vendors are legally permitted to vend in the city. In 2018, the state law changed with the “Safe Sidewalk Vending Act” (SB 946) to provide important entrepreneurship and economic opportunities to low-income and immigrant communities.
State and local laws guide safe vending practices and standards in Santa Monica. All vendors need a City of Santa Monica business license and if applicable, a vending permit to sell any items in the City, and vendors selling food must also obtain and display a Los Angeles County Department of Public Health permit. The permit requirements reflect Santa Monica’s commitment to balancing public health and safety with expanding opportunities for micro-entrepreneurs.
Vendors are encouraged and welcome in many sidewalk locations throughout the City. In particular, sidewalk vendors are encouraged to vend on the sidewalk along Colorado Avenue between the Expo Light Rail Line (4th Street) and Ocean Avenue (top of the Santa Monica Pier). Street vending is restricted areas including Third Street Promenade, Palisades Park, Santa Monica Pier and the beach.
Lol they're turning on each other 😂
This is what happens when you lay down the law, it was never like this with all the illegal vendors in the 90's
Are they after legals, or illegals ? 💀
Exactly, I’m sure they didn’t mind it back in the day cause there only few , but now 50 of them is ridiculous,
Illegals are costing taxpayers millions more dollars as they consume more welfare (they get it through their kids) and displace Americans who are living on the streets.
What's up with these vendors now and these days? They have balls and have no respect ugh F the police? Ok say that next time you need their help!
It cost too much money for a permit
Why aren't the officers issuing trespass warnings to illegal vendors? If they are caught on the pier or beach, just trespass them so they can't come back on the property. If they return, arrest them and confiscate their carts and make them pay a fine to retrieve them from storage.
why don't they split up and cover more ground instead of following each other around ?
Beautiful Sunset! Awesome video! 👍
Too much noise, no action, they keep on coming back time after time, ridiculous!. 😂🤣😭. Suspicious. Organized crime.
That's what the Mexicans do even over in Anaheim
Nagyon szépen köszönöm ezt a csodálatos videót.
It's so ridiculous that people can't enjoy the day at the beach without this illegal vendors drama,,shame shame,,very so south central🤷♀️👎
This is getting good 🤣🤣🤣
Wow, not surprised at all with more Latina on Latina Crime. But who is watching all their kids when they are "working"?
Well it is every man (& woman) for their selves. How Capitalism is.
The ca prison system.
every time The Vendor Task Force are deployed i have The A-Team theme playing to rev up the intensity!
Absolutely beautiful work.
are motor vehicles allowed on the bike path?
The salmonella cart’s are sick😂
Muy bien que limpien todo 👮♂️😍🎊🎊🎊🎊
Excellent coverage
Ahhh ..... just kick them all out.
Did you say Illegals 😂
Keep up the good work bro
Ohhh lord 😂 now they are fighting amongst themselves 🤦 u guys don't own the beach.
At least these people are trying to make money, honestly, their no stealing. Leave them alone. I respect that.
Good work!
It seems it's same vendors all the time, in Canada here, you get 1 warning, then they would confiscate everything if you return.
Their poor people trying to survive honestly. Leave them alone.
Imagine the man hours wasted on this sh*t
Well over half a million dollars a year ...
Alot of vendors selling those bacon wrapped dogs at Superbowl. The ( dogs)just sat there uncovered as people passed by.
Government doesn't seem to be supporting police.
Then police rush to assist those that shouldn't be there?
They should just give it up.
This is all disheartening- waste of time. Give it up. They are just riding around. How many arrest vs man hours?
What do you call an illegal acting like a legal??
A seagull!
They need to confiscate the carts unfortunately hitting the offenders in the pocket is the only way to discourage the persistent law breaking
THIS IS AMERICAN, You are living here need to follow the rules. If you don't like, you can get out, go back to your country.
This was Mexico. We need to put walls along the ports so people stop coming in sardine containers. Then they marry white guys and get legalized keep the same energy.
Yeah, they need to pay taxes too.
@@BCMLS313 Key word "was." Time to move on from that bs. This is the United States of America NOW. Time to move forward.

10:05 smpd no regards for the pedestrian with the stroller…
Not true. SMPD are courteous and drive slowly. How that Dad with his stroller couldn't hear them coming because they are fairly loud is beyond me
@@kristycrosby8893 Probably looking to get hit so he can file a million dollar lawsuit.
If those officers are there 8 hours a day , that's probably costing us over $800,000 a year ...
It sure is for a pinch hot dog

It’s also a shame that a satellite police station has to waste tax payers dollars on this type of unlawfulness that occurs. I’m glad I lived in Santa Monica & Marina Del Rey when all these officers driving in and through the SM Pier area! Where “homelessness” runs rampant. Overtaking all the restroom / showers locations. Why doesn’t the health department step and meet with the public officials i.e. Mayor, Governor, Code Enforcement Board, Coast Guard Commissioner? Come in one accord and stop this madness and stop being intimidated by civilians who are either mentally impaired, disabled in body, addicts. Is the police station too clean to get their jailhouse cells dirty? The officers afraid to touch and handcuff? All o see are officers who’ve become overweight because they do zilch but stand with their hands on the weapon belt taking a few steps watching the homeless individuals(s) gather their disgusting items only haul it away until they see the police officers have gone. Where’s the motto “Serve and Protect” taking place in this? Receiving high pay + benefits. 0 dignity in that. 🤦🏻♀️
Local government must find job for those who are free on street going to work in company to get money to support their family
Why did they get carts with lawnmowers engines?
The fight was between 310SoCal and gordon 🤣🤣
How sad. Police must speak Spanish to accomplish anything...
They need to go sell back in East L.A. where they get away with it. They aren’t entitled to sell at The Santa Monica Pier unless they are willing to pass health regulations code enforcement sanitation handling laws vendor FEES. It’s insults “all” the businesses that do follow and pay to sell accordingly to the City of Santa Monica regulations. Cash only for the most part. 0 taxes. They Mexico 🇲🇽 vendors possibly work for the cartel to pay off their illegal entry into our country America 🇺🇸
Do they always run around in a convoy?
turd world
Just more SMP being council workers.
Sound is better on this video.
California beaches starting to look like Mexico. Only thing missing are the horses

Ok, soo what's going on here everyone is vaccinated, did they lift all mask mandates, or just for the vaccinated people or what? Because i see everyone without no masks except for a couple of people. Why are you all enforcing the masks too.
There is no outdoor mask mandate in Santa Monica.
Get smarter.
Why there are a lots illegal drug sellers in Los Angeles ? Because law inforcement and polices never teach the Californian people to stop use or sell drug on street .
Go Vendors!
America was built on unregulated business...

@@mikejones6314 Fine as long as they pay taxes and don't get any welfare benefits.
You see, America paid for California..sooo keep your illegal vendors in Mexico..
After twenty-seven years as part of independent Mexico, California was ceded to the United States in 1848 with the signing of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. The United States paid Mexico $15 million for the lands ceded.
send the vendors to mexico...problem solved...
