The video is good enough for situations where there wont be any close up shots for the tire. The only issue I have is that the tread pattern does not conform to the curvature of the tire.

I definitely prefer this style of tutorial that just gets straight to the point. my only feedback is it would be helpful if you could annotate/highlight what you just did and why you did it as it is sometimes difficult to see what you're clicking on. for example: when you joined two objects, a simple "now these two objects are joined" message or something like that I think would be helpful.

you could have used the spin tool(in the edit mode) to copy the screw instead of using the array modifier. It's lot easy with the spin tool.
