Gonna go out on a limb here. Russia has a pretty hefty history of novel aircraft design. They led the way in IR technology, and the Mig 29 was the epitome of a short range high speed, maneuverable interceptor. They also pioneered off bore site targeting with the IR system. The F-15EX was most likely bought not because of capability, but because Boeing needed a "bailout" of sorts. The F-15EX has been proposed a number of times in the 2000s in different forms. Then there was the JSF program, meant to replace basically all fighters used by all branches of the armed forces with a one-size-fits-all design (a strategy that has never failed to fail, but I digress). You are forgetting the differences in cost of living between both countries. The military aerospace industry is usually a national endeavour, with very little parts coming from abroad. So what happens is that you pay (or overpay) for things just to keep the industry homegrown. The cost of living in the US is several times higher than Russia, and on top of that you have the cost of lobbying. What this boils down to, is that both aircraft might even be very similar in quality of parts used and design efficiency, but americans simply pay more for it. The differences in price do not forcefully mean a difference in quality. And you should know by now that russian engineers are top notch, as was proven by the space race. With enough funding, i think they would surpass the US. A very good proof of concept is the russian Buran Energia space shuttle, which was vastly superior to the american one. And they did it with a fraction of the budget. People need to start leaving national pride out of the equation, and start objectively judging things for what they are, not what you want them to be. It might sting a little, to some.
I think you need to update yourself on the Gripen. Just because the name is kept doesn't mean it's old like the F-16's. The laws of physics will just give Russian engineers a "ticket for their transgressions." (Good news for the F-35 / F-22 ... the laws of physics aren't subject to repeal).
F-35 was made fat on purpose (to accommodate VTOL ventilator) so it has bad drag coeff. its not problem to made a plane that gonna be better than f-35 flight characteristic vise. And F-22 well its a 30 y old plane? composits and engines came long way since then
I feel like the old Sukhois and Mig 29's are still the best they have, we saw how much the F-35 compromised for it's multirole platform here I can't imagine the amount of gimping this thing is going to take for it's cheap cost.
Four will be the maximum number they will ever be able to build, and those jets will make interesting museum pieces when Russia is forced to convert back to a horse-and-buggy economy (although in Russia's case, it will be mule-and-cart). If they ever build more, it will be our fault.
Russia claims. 🙄 Watch this. I built a stealth fighter in my backyard out of scrap metal, wood and duct tape that can supercruise at mach 10. Has a range of 10,000 miles. Fires megawatt lasers at any angle and is LITERALLY invisible to ANY detection system. See? Claims are easy. It's just talk. Or typing. Stay tuned for my next creation. A death star, carrier, black hole creating super machine. I'm thinking grass clippings and old cardboard. 👍
You made mistakes. It was claimed that the jet can carry 3 RVV-SDs (R-77M, medium-range) and 2 RVV-MD (R-73M, short-range) in 3 internal weapon bays, not RVV-BD (R-37, long-range). All of these missiles are not hypersonic. What they meant is either R-37M (in testing stage) or a new hypersonic air-to-ground missile that is currently being developed for Su-57. But the fighter will be able to carry only 2 of either of those in its biggest weapon bay.
Just a few remarks! Development of the Checkmate is done solely by the Sukhoi, it is not a state program and its serial production has nothing to do with the Russian economy, which is very stable by the way (don't buy the western hype and propaganda). Also, as we speak, the new batches of operational Su-57 planes are entering units, and its production will increase with every passing year, and that is the fact. Sukhoi made a smart move with the Su-75 Checkmate because the export market is in the need of relatively cheep and modern stealth fighter plane, and they can be extremely competitive regarding the price/performance ratio for one very simple reason, and that is the homology between it and the Su-57! The Su-75 shares the cockpit/canopy, wings, vertical tails, main weapons bay, engine, on board electronics and weapons with the Su-57, which means that there is no need for additional funding for majority of the parts because they are already tested and proven. Also, the Su-75 won't have "some" degree of sensor fusion like you have stated, it will have the full sensor fusion suite, far superior to F-22 for example, and on similar level with the F-35. According to the official statements from the Sukhoi, even the early Su-57 prototypes had few times superior computing power of its main central computer called IMA BK (in early stages of development the computer had software volume composed of billions lines of code, (between 4-8 billions, which is much more than the F-22's 1,7 billion), and computing power of some 300 GFLOPS, compared to 20 GFLOPS of the F-22). Second thing, the notion that the plane has "only" 8G limit by itself absolutely doesn't mean that the plane is less maneuverable than other planes that can pull the 9G's. The 8G limit is the structural limit, not aerodynamic limit (they probably didn't want to increase the weight and cost of the plane by addition structural strengthening), and the plane pulling the 8G's at lower speed can have better turn rate and smaller turn radius than the plane pulling 9G's at higher speed! In other words, If the plane has better lift to drag ratio and SEP (specific exes power) in the area below the 9G compared to the other plane that can pull 9G, and if it has better nose pointing capability (high AoA controlability, or post stall capability), than such a plane will have advantage 99 percent of the time! To put it even more simply, even the old Mig-21 can pull 8,5G's, but does that mean that the plane is more maneuverable and agile than Su-75? The answer is definitely no, especially if we keep in mind that the plane will have inherited maneuverability of the Su-57 (it will use the number components of the bigger brother including TVC engines). Third, since the plane has the same main weapons bay as the Su-57, it will be able to store every type of weapon Su-57 can use, including the hypersonic version of the R-37M. The RVV-BD is the export version of the R-37M missile with the limited range of 200 km, but the R-37M for the Russian military has the range between 300-400 km, and the missile was able to make a world record kill in Ukraine of 217 km! The AIM-120D can't come close to this missile regarding range, speed, active seeker power, and warhead power! Other than that, you made pretty dissent video!
The plane is not funded or ordered by the Russian government, it's independend project of Sukhoi, and apparently it already has some foreign investors. They will utilize technologies from Su-57, so it's going to be cheaper to develop and produce.
Yeah, this thing is made out of plywood, su57 promised to hit production in 2013, is still not being made. All you need to know. Oh and MC21 a mid size passenger jet- they uncapable of making even that, because terrorussia does not have technology to produce materials for its wings and fuselage. Oh and light military cargo plane - they cant make that either - comes out few metric ton heavier than needed no matter what they do. They cant make clothes iron, microwave, TV, CPU, car, smartphone, vacuum cleaner, underwear, socks, space rocket (last remaining astrunaut was recently laid-off) , can't build space rocket launching pad, can't build aircarrier nor fix existing one, among many other things. What peaceful neighbor invading fascist russia can make: Kalashnikov, Novichek. Oh, scratch off Kalashnikov - that was German, soviets actuall had to bring in capturet in WW2 German engineers to finish it off.

Ironically judging from its look and configuration, it could have a much better stealth capability than the su57. Cuz su57 isn't a stealth fighter at all lol, just look at the engine air intake. It is completely straight without any S duct configuration
AI is easy to implement. Look at Comma AI. Teaching it is hard. You need data. A lot of data. Like Number 5, “NEED INPUT!” No data or bad data means worthless software.
and for all of you that say it is not a stealth plane , if india or china get involved , then this plane could become superior to most other fighters of its specific platform, it is merely a marketing design , features can be change
India and china won't touch it. India had a large contract with russia for the Su-57 and then cancelled it entirely stating that it there were 'problems'. And why would china give all that money to russia when they can steal plans & build their own platforms just as well......

It looks like a 35. It's essentially an F-35 "lite" being made for a fraction of the cost. That being said, this channel seems to have a clear bias in favor of the 35, hence why this video is kind of salty. If every other video here wasn't a spunk-fest over that expensive wet fart of an aircraft, I'd be more inclined to place stock in your points here. The SU-30 from Russia would likely give the F-35 a lot of trouble in a fight. I have yet to see this channel shit on Chinese planes like it does on Russian ones. Well, America should buy a few, help Russia grow, money to them is help to them rather than everyone funding China in multiple ways… looking at the craft it’s pretty much an F16 though, but not being a radar engineer, it looks l8ke it’s not stealth at all, unless the paint is absolutly amazing.
@@jamesharris9816 LOL... where did you get this silly and WRONG idea from. The SU57 is not for any client state and the Russians say they will built lots of them. F-35 was made fat on purpose (to accommodate VTOL ventilator) so it has bad drag coeff. its not problem to made a plane that gonna be better than f-35 flight characteristic vise. And F-22 well its a 30 y old plane? composits and engines came long way since then
👍 Check out CW Lemoine’s review on this as well. Good stuff.
I feel like the old Sukhois and Mig 29's are still the best they have, we saw how much the F-35 compromised for it's multirole platform here I can't imagine the amount of gimping this thing is going to take for it's cheap cost.
Take a photo of it and slap F35 on the photo. Wonder how many people can tell the difference.
Crowd funded Vaporware, looks cool but so did the SU-57 and T-14 Armata.
Four will be the maximum number they will ever be able to build, and those jets will make interesting museum pieces when Russia is forced to convert back to a horse-and-buggy economy (although in Russia's case, it will be mule-and-cart). If they ever build more, it will be our fault.
How can Russia build a real stealth plane with black smoke pouring out the tail pipes 😂
Russia claims. 🙄
Watch this.
from other commentaries, it sounds like a lot of the proposed equipment is about a decade behind the F35
Reminds me of the Iranian “Stealth” Fighter
Great chan, subbed
More Russian hardware soon to be burning on the desert floor!
Ah yes, 5th gen fighter that miiiight enter production after the US 6th gen fighter. Nice.
At least this plane comes with LEDS 🤣🤣🤣
Nothing new here mostly hype and research...respect though
The checkers "The Checkmate" 😆🤣
The Bear doesn't do anything without a great reason behind it
The plane is not funded or ordered by the Russian government, it's independend project of Sukhoi, and apparently it already has some foreign investors.
They will utilize technologies from Su-57, so it's going to be cheaper to develop and produce.
AI in the cockpit? The movie Stealth is becoming more and more prophetic
Oh aye the f35 millstone, a great aircraft my arse and mustard
It’s literally a poverty style f35 lol..
This made me laugh
Amen👍🙂
Am I the only one who was disappointed that when this plane was revealed that it wasn't Firefox...?
Russian story telling is world renowned.
Hate to say it but Russia makes some good stuff.
Their Su-57 isn't still a 5th gen fighter.
Now doubt it will be first choice of Pakistan Air Force...
Here’s all you need to know about it….they’ll only make 6 of them
...then let 4 of them rot, stitch togheter the resting 2 out of the pieces of the other 4 and some tanks, and let them fly every 9th of may to show the world on how powerful they are and spread fear to anyone speaking the opposite with some blue or yellow color (they will be banned forever... and 1 day).
Planform reminds me of Boeing X-32.
Union Aerospace Corporation up to dodgy tactics? The hell you say!!! 😁
Pie in the sky.
Russia has no problem developing modern military tanks or planes. Problem starts when russian goverment is asked "how many will you actually buy ?".
MR. HUNTER, I'LL BE IN WASHINGTON DC, TOO SEE SITE'S HISTORY OF AMERICA 🇺🇸 ETC
I’m waiting for 🇬🇧 tempest
Pls show us how it performes at an arial display.
Checkmate? more like Reality Check!
HOLY SHIT! ITS GOT THE X-32 GOBLIN CHIN ... the OBVIOUS LOSER that competed with the F-35!! lol
So, F16XLski. Bet China wants to rent one badly.
Ironically judging from its look and configuration, it could have a much better stealth capability than the su57. Cuz su57 isn't a stealth fighter at all lol, just look at the engine air intake. It is completely straight without any S duct configuration
I don't even think it has divertless intakes
$30million? 🤣🤣🤣 yeah ok.
AI is easy to implement. Look at Comma AI. Teaching it is hard. You need data. A lot of data. Like Number 5, “NEED INPUT!” No data or bad data means worthless software.
i wish it was a mig tho but its a cool jet
Pfff what a hype. Lets call it the battle off the mock up fighters.
and for all of you that say it is not a stealth plane , if india or china get involved , then this plane could become superior to most other fighters of its specific platform, it is merely a marketing design , features can be change
India and china won't touch it. India had a large contract with russia for the Su-57 and then cancelled it entirely stating that it there were 'problems'. And why would china give all that money to russia when they can steal plans & build their own platforms just as well......
@@jaysonpida5379 wy invest 40 billion in a new project , wwhen u can pay a tiny fraction of that for a top of the tech line cheap fighter
I wonder how long it will be before they build the mars base.
Or rather the mars moon bases LOL.
So it's just a concept...
Yup! They might make 2...in a decade.
The only one they can afford to build.
real question is, can it beat f-22?
Seriously?🤣🤣🤣
Yes. By the time it becomes operational, it will be more advanced than any 5 gen aircraft. Because technology evolves each year.
@@katimboallan4605 1 engine aircraft against the stealthiest most maneuverable 2 engine thrust vectoring aircraft?
It doesnt even fly yet?!?😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
By the time it does, sure- but what will be fielded on the opposing side that is top tier by then?
Military's whole purpose is to lower mental "load" ;)
The car pulling the jet is german
Did anyone say yf-23 is this damn sure what it looks like one lost of the F-22 Raptor this jet looks almost identical to the one the lost the contract
I think you mean "plans for a new fighter".... there is no fighter, there is a cardboard and plastic model of something.
So by 1:06 we know everything we can know.
ZOOOM
So, we’re racing to the bottom on military planes?
This is the newest, did they actually have an oldest.
I love how from the start its Russia never finish's this or that yet somehow its the only country that every american seems to be afraid of. Perhaps there is a reason for that which your context lacks or you neglect to share
Reason is nuclear weapons not Russian fighters.
Maybe that's because the Chinese fighters are based off of stolen blueprints from the US.
Having seen the great display of Russia's military display in Ukraine, I am going to call B.S. on most if not all of Russia's claims about this fighter jet. I think that they are exaggerating and embellishing the jet's capabilities. In lamest terms, I think they are lying.
Looks like a Boeing X32 and a Euro fighter had a bastard drunk son....smh...
"Bargain basement stealth" ?! 😲
Vladimir disagrees strongly with your assessment ! 😠
He NEVER said anything about a bargain ! 😐
It just reeks of desperation and sale on speculation!
Lmao.. We really think they're showing us the good sh!t
If stealth is dead like Russia (falsely) keeps claiming, then why are they working so had to develop one that works?
They aren't. This aircraft is for their client states so they don't lose them to the competitor.
@@jamesharris9816 LOL... where did you get this silly and WRONG idea from. The SU57 is not for any client state and the Russians say they will built lots of them. The "Checkmate" is vaporware at this point. It does not even exist other than a mockup.
If you think low observable aircraft are dead you are clueless. Low band radars can NOT engage aircraft. and are easily jammed. Those radars are literally WWII technology and useless in a war setting.
Asa Russian, i personally think this will never fly...Looks like this was done in a hurry, for some reason..
Great name for a plane ... LOL
A single engine YF-23
if I was given to select a jet j20 from Xhina or Russia jet fighters even due it's a cheap one surely I will consider to purchase a Russian Made instead of Xhina jet fighters
There is almost certainly AI of some form in the F-35, and there'll almost certainly really be AI of some form in the checkmate, when/if it materializes. AI is a very broad term and can mean a lot of things.
2022 here, this thing isnt getting built lmao.
Let's hope it won't fail like the su57
Looks like a knockoff of the F-16xj.
