Tom brought me great memories from the great Mel Krieger... they both shared the passion, calmness and enthusiasm on sharing the art they know so well. They uncles every fishermen would love to have had. Thanks for the video!
I love fishing in my local creek! It's in the downtown park and everybody looks at me like "woah". Its truly great! Not much trout, but fish are fish! My love for fly fishing only grows, and this video definitely fueled it even more! Thanks, keep up the amazing videos!
This is what I do. I take a trip or two a year to great fishing locations but in the meantime, I'm checking my local parks for fish. Good fight on a 3wt.
I have carp here in two ponds on our property. Started last year to fly fish and to fish for them. God they got clever quickly! They ate almost anything in the beginning. Now a year later they are soooo careful and aware and suspicious and hard to catch. But very interesting and challenging to catch and they make up a great fight on my small 4WT :)
I really like this video and I caught my first fish on a fly last weekend, it was a small rainbow trout. I live in New Zealand and lots of people saltwater fish but I never knew until I got into it that many people wish they could fly fish in Nz and it’s one of the best places for it
Great video! Shows how easy it is to find fish near you! No, it’s not Patagonia. But it’s very near, and very inexpensive! If Bream grew to 5 pounds, few would trout fishing!
I fish locally all the time but I live in Denver so there’s an abundance of great options. I’ve discovered that many of our waters hold trout in addition to suckers, bass, and carp. Sometimes I land a carp on my 5 wt fly rod, usually when using a streamer. Carp fight like hell for a long time and eventually break my 5x tippet. Do you have any advice for playing a carp on the line and getting it into the net (other than the obvious of sizing up my tippet and rod to something more appropriate for carp)?
where were you when you made the video ? I think it would be great if you clued us in on these place's or if they be great for a cheap DYI fishing trip .
where did you catch this carp? Because I would like to give it a try sometime. I love flyfishing and tie my own flys. mostly for trout but fishing for carp sounds great. One time I did catch a horseshoe sucker in a small creek that was about 14 inches. One question to anyone here: Have you ever fished on the white river in VT. It's really amazing. respond below if so.
Hi Tom, I love your channel, if you live near or, can travel to the south fork of the snake river please publish some videos about trout fishing there. I see you catch lots of fish not far from this area. Cheers.
Most accessible fishing spots here are on peoples property and they don’t like trespassers on their land... not sure why the farmers are like this as I don’t need to be on the farm field and i’ll be mostly in the creek. :(
Tom paints trees and mountains with that fly rod. The way he presents his videos calm me and got me into fly fishing.
He is the Bob Ross of fishing.
