    I understand that it could be a creative choice to expose a lot of light in your studio. But I can say for most that it’s not what a lot of people would call a cinematically pleasing video. Thanks for your video tho. You made some good points.

      Thank you for your comments! My focus was mainly on making the montage as cinematic as I could. I’m still trying to find a set up for my studio shots and haven’t settled on what I like yet. Next video might be a dark studio🤣🤣

      Hey! Was just wondering if you had a chance to give my new video ‘Photography Basics in 10 Minutes’ a quick look? Would appreciate your thoughts on the lighting in the studio? My own opinion is I need to diffuse the key light a bit more but I felt it was a step in the right direction!😊🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

    Loved the video and thank you for taking the time to make this, and for the helpful tips. I’m a “newbie” but recently purchased the Osmo Pocket 3 and have no clue how to use it yet but I’m excited to learn.

    I didn't have high hopes for the footage because you are sitting in your over saturated yellow-red room, but it turns out the footage was really beautiful! Why the washed out yellow & red in your room?

      Hey Ficktao!
      Thank you for your honest and kind comments!! I’m glad you liked the footage!!😁
      I’m still messing about with the studio at home and can’t find a place with enough space to set it up the way I would like. This was an experiment in trying to use a brighter set but I am not keen on it either. Will probably see a different, darker set if you stick around for a future video? Would love your feedback again my friend!

      I’m currently using a GoPro window mount and I HATE it!! It just never seems to want to point in the right direction. Why they never made it with a ball head will forever perplex me!!! I’ve bought a small rig extension arm and clamp which I am hoping will be better!!!🤣🤣😳🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

    When im filming in a car driving in a curve to the left the gimal goes to the right in all settings even when locking gimbal by holding joystick pressed down. And the opisit curve to the left. Should it be like this or and how do you getting it to lock or follow the road?

    • @davidmuirphotography
      @davidmuirphotography  7 місяців тому

      I have had similar problems but the best workaround I’ve found is to set the gimbal to tilt-locked, change the focus mode to single and then tap to focus on the middle of the road. It still moves a bit, but not as bad.
      I’m fairly sure DJI will release a firmware update to add a fixed mode!
      😊😊😊🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

    • @laurentschauls
      @laurentschauls 7 місяців тому +1

      I think it’s normal because the gimbal uses a sort of gyroscope and I guess because of the G-Forces it tries to counteract these

    I’m still getting to grips with FPS and having to use ND filters to keep the exposure down!
    My earlier drone footage was sometimes shot at north of 2000 fps and that’s when I first noticed it!
    I definitely prefer doing UA-cam at 30 fps, probably because the math is easier compared to 24 fps eg 30, 60, 90 and 120!!😂😂😂

      @Experternas 7 місяців тому

      start with your skin tone in the vid, its blowing up. highly saturated and digitally over exposed. don't you agree? of course you can call it a creative choice but you mentioned cinematic and even tho that's a vague term this grading is not that.@@davidmuirphotography

    • @davidmuirphotography
      @davidmuirphotography  7 місяців тому

      Is this for both parts? Studio and outside? I know my studio lighting was very harsh and I was trying something new. Didn’t like it and my video I posted a day or so ago went the other direction. Perhaps TOO far the other way!🤣
      I’ll not pretend to be good at grading and in fact I find it quite difficult. It’s something I want to focus on more but I’ve been spending a lot of time on fps, shutter speed, etc. I’m a stills photographer by nature and just starting to learn all the nuances of video and cinematography. That said, I am absolutely loving the journey and to my eye, each one gets a little better!
      Really appreciate your comments!

      @davidmuirphotography yeah I mean it's a fun thing to have but it's not something I'd consider to be professional. More like a fun movie camera on a trip. Better than a phone for sure.

    • @davidmuirphotography
      @davidmuirphotography  6 місяців тому

      I think for my style of videos it’s perfect. I use my Canon R5 for shots I want to be extra special and the DJI Air 3 does a great job too! Mixed together they look great. I got the new iPhone 14 Pro Max but it seems like a faff to use properly. I do t know if it’s just me but mobile phone cameras just don’t immerse me in the moment and I don’t feel like I’m truly shooting proper video. Does that make sense?😊🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

    Sorry but the dynamic range out of the d-log is rubbish, with normal color profile it works way better, tested and proven, not sure why all UA-camr say the same statement

    • @davidmuirphotography
      @davidmuirphotography  7 місяців тому

      Hey!!!
      Thanks for the comment my friend. Normal colour profile definitely looks better straight out of camera but my understanding is that there is less flexibility and the image can fall apart when you start to edit it and play around with shadows, highlights and colours. Because the normal profile has the colour baked in, it limits your possibilities to create your own personalised look.
      I am however intrigued by your comment and think I will try shooting a video in the normal colour profile to see what I can achieve!
      Have a great weekend and thanks for reaching out!!
