The Plane that Led D-Day | Behind the Wings

Join Wings' Curator Chuck Stout on a journey into the history of a twin-engine, military transport aircraft developed from the civilian DC-3 airliner - the Douglas C-47 Gooney Bird.
We’ll learn about this particular aircraft's incredible role in leading the airborne invasion on D-Day, walkaround the C-47 to learn about its unique design features, and yes, we are even going to fly this thing.
