Durango fire department celebrates arrival of new engine

The Durango Fire Protection District purchased this new Type-1 engine for $700,000. The fire department held a push-in ceremony Monday, Feb. 5, 2024, to honor a long tradition in the fire services when receiving major pieces of new equipment. About a dozen people, including men, women and children, pushed the 54,000-pound engine into the fire station bay in Bodo Industrial Park in Durango. (Video by Shane Benjamin/Durango Herald)
