How to Create a Shortcut to a Website on Your Mac's Dock

This quick demo shows step-by-step how to create a shortcut to a frequently visited website directly on your Mac's docking station. In this example we create a LinkedIn Recruiter shortcut and update the icon's image.

I have the same issue and more other related issue. When I get info and copy and paste the saved image, say yahoo mail, the bookmark image turns into JPEG instead of the image. Please help. Thanks.

I think that with apples new updates, deleting the link that is on your desktop will also kill the icon link in your doc... I would've loved to have all my links through safari, but ended up going with google chrome apps on my mac instead, plus theyre able to be arranged on the left side of the doc

Except when I put the link in the trash from my desktop and empty the trash, I can no longer use the shortcut bc the file was deleted. So a separate file would have to be made somewhere to store these shortcuts in order to actually use them without the icon being on your desktop.

If you try this with a Safari bookmark, Safari just deletes the entire bookmark. This works great with Chrome.

Thanks for the info. I did that and it worked. Then about a week later I logged back in and my doc has questions marks on all the applications like UA-cam and Amazon. Do I have to do it all over again and why did this happen?
