Sitting here in limbo, like a bird without a song
Sitting here in limbo, but I know it won't be long
Well, they're putting up resistance
But I know my faith will lead me on
Sitting here in limbo waiting for the tide to flow
Sitting here in limbo, knowing that I have to go
Well, they're putting up resistance
But I know my faith will lead me on
I don't know what life will show me
But I know what I've seen
I can't see where life will lead me
But I know where I've been
Tried my hand at love and friendship
But all that is passed and gone
This little boy is moving on
Sitting here in limbo, waiting for the dice to roll
Sitting here in limbo, got some time to search my soul
Well, they're putting up resistance
But I know my faith will lead me on
I don't know what life will show me
But I know what I've seen
I can't see where life will lead me
But I know where I've been
Tried my hand at love and friendship
But all that is passed and gone
This little boy is moving on
Sitting here in limbo, waiting for the dice to roll
Sitting here in limbo, got some time to search my soul
Well, they're putting up resistance
But I know my faith will lead me on
Well, they're putting up resistance
But I know my faith will lead me on
This is another Jerry Garcia masterpiece.
Beautiful 🌹🖤🌹
This song always seems to help at certain times in life...
Jerry helped me ask why instead of judge myself today and every weight just lifted off my chest!! Stopped crying just like a baby, bless this music
Yeah. Like right now.
PhuryousOne Amen dude!
You sound beautiful Jerry. Guitar, voice, energy... everything. I love you.
came here to deal with my heartache...thank you Jerry. You always help. RIP CC Rider.

been there
Three years later and same..
Same. Lit some incense, picked up some pics of someone missed & played this. Then saw your comment. Hope it helped friend.
Jerry, somehow you still know how to make a day better!
jj Seapro that is so true.
After thinking at 1st how sad it is Jerry is no longer on this plain of existence, after further contemplation, I was lucky to share the 10 yrs I did have have with him and the Dead. Grateful to the core,I do truly miss this beautiful human being and his talents. Love and LIGHT to all.❤✌
Jerry really did this justice over the years. The Ron Tutt, Nicky Hopkins lineup is mind blowing.
John M I agree however in this instance this is Johnny D Fonseca on drums just a young kid that unfortunately died the same year in a car crash.. I guess he was related to someone that was working on Mickeys house so they say.. here is a link to the video of this same show showing him on Drumz one of my favorite shows of all time right near where I grew up my first concert was there one year later seeing JGB in in 1981 November 6th There are always two separate shows at the Capitol theater back then for Jerry at least early and the late show this song here sitting in limbo is from the first early show.. Enjoy

whoah, yeah man. The 'thats what love will make you do' on the 'let it rock' album is seriously some of the finest blues ever recorded. Ron Tutt is seriously damn good. But some of JGBs stuff with the fonseca/ahlers lineup.Love the Dead, but the expresstrain to the dizzying heights is JGB
You are so right on my friend. That is probably my favorite three cars that played with Jerry.
@@jonasch2494same. They were by far the best musicians he had in JGB. It’s a damn shame Hopkins couldn’t deal with his Crohn’s disease & went to alcohol. You know it was bad when Jerry & The Rolling Stones couldn’t handle it. They were all using heavy amounts of drugs at the time even Mick despite people claiming he was sober - he was using as much cocaine as anyone. My personal theory is he denies it because it wasn’t as obvious as everyone else in the band’s heroin use. In Manhattan he was one of the main & most frequent participants in coke fueled orgies at Studio 54 with his wife. He was so bombed out of his mind he was fooling around with David freaking Bowie…
Following the boys for 12 years but never with jerry. First time I heard this one I found out I’d be a dad. My son sat in limbo 9 months and right now he sits in my arm❤️ A new head born and an old head sets the pace
Awesome Jerry never left. The music never stopped 🥰🥰🥰😥😎
Quarantined with Covid 19. Hope that “my faith will lead mo on.”
Thank you Jerry & what a great line up gone but never forgotten
Jerry always helps. Always with us.
Gorgeous!

One of my favorite tunes, it really resonates with me.
Yah, Jerry was great! We all remember n miss him but we all still love him in our hearts. Live on Deadheads..........................................
Sitting here in limbo; on a beautiful summer morning, got some time to search my soul....for this I am grateful. 😌
Prolly one of Jerry's best cover, and seeing WSMFP play 6or7songs w/Jimi Cliff
Nice Jimmy Cliff cover...Great song.
Jerry is a gift.
33 people having a bad trip or something. God bless all ✌️♥️
waiting on my laundry to finish washing itself!!🍄🍳
Im a 25 yr "deadhead" but recently found the fruits of jgb. Jerry's sweet voice is more pronounced and easier to hear (weir is great but I'm a Jer bear)...
This music brings me great peace and pleasure. Quite a few jgb songs have a religious or spiritual feel or undertone... guess I'm babbling on, love ya Jer!
You found the sacred writ in music
They closed my first show with this tune way back in 1984 or so. give it a listen ua-cam.com/video/FGaEXqrubO4/v-deo.html
Better musicians than in the Dead many say.
Sure does feel that way at the moment brother ♥️

Hey youtube.....when you place 2 commercials in THE MIDDLE OF A GREAT SONG........I will automatically boycott the company who places the ad......put it at the beginning whatever.....but in the middle?
yo
Who's playing that ....keyboard, is it, here? Amazingly graceful version!
Probably Melvin
Ozzie A was there in 1980 and Melvin played later in the winter that year.

What is the band lineup on this?

Anyone know the story/history/meaning of the lyrics, that sound like they're from an old folk song pre-WW2....I do not mean the most obvious 'interpretation' which I don't need, which is the subjective, personal relationship with the pain from their problems, and how this song can do that with 1000 interpretations...I just figure it is a story about some guy in war-time who could and would do anything for who he loves... and already has been fighting alot, though at the moment, he has to wait which he finds as close to hell as he finds himself close to heaven...(not close to heaven, but the faith is there). His waiting has enacted an inner war the singer finds almost too painful and difficult too continue let alone put to words...so it may have been Robert Hunter who wrote it, but if not, mabye it is an old folk song from some old war?
Reggae great Jimmy Cliff wrote it. Google his version.
@@mrvootie1 that's cool to know, I'll have to look him up an check out it's journey to America...mabye by Garcia, I'll check it out
@@mrvootie1 thanks
10 thumbs down 👎 = shame on you bastards🤷♂️are you kidding me? Only a true sodomite could hate something this good⚡️I love Jerry Garcia and everything and everyone part of G⚡️D (all members of band) also= this message is for haters of this!
I’m gonna give a thumbs down 👎 on my own comment
Let that flaith lead you on’
...well, you know how the Sodomites fared, after all. It seems soo easy to put down something one can't even attempt. Karma'll rule .
while he uses a mixing machine lmao
I hated this guy when i was young. Why, oh, why was i so stupid? O_o good medicine, this.
I was there
This was all new & counter culture when I was young. My 10 year old brain absorbed 'Live Dead' like a sponge. I hated people like Pat Boone, the Carpenters, the Archie's and Nixon, etc. Still don't like 'em, but have grown to dig Sinatra.
@@johnm3152 Garcia is timeless. So is Sinatra. Miles Davis was influenced by Sinatra, and Garcia was influenced by Miles. You'll hearJerry do a few Miles songs with JGB. Like "So What" and "Milestones".
