Personally i skip the .5 and 1.5 because i feel like they skip/miss hair a lot depending on the hair texture. I like consistency so i dont like using blending guards. 90% of my fades are done with just the #1 and #2 guards
@@DavidEscamilla153 yeah i learned it from guys like gesusthebarber, valentethebarber, larrysbarbercollege and then my own personal barber intructor in school. I feel its a lot more precise and the blends come out way more buttery. Takes a lot of practice though.
I don’t think so bro ! You might get the same length maybe if you don’t gap your clippers and you’re using something like a Jrl . Don’t quote me on this tho
The .5 guard closed actually cuts closer than the no guard open. The actual measurements are out there. But essentially the .5 guard closed is equal to the no guard open to the 4th notch. That’s why it’s considered a blending guard because of the overlap. Hope that helps some and isn’t too confusing.
Where are you guys from 🙏?
Brother❤️ love this fading method soo soo much . Please make more tutorials with this method.

Ty bro !!!
Question: is no guard open the same as .5guard closed
Yes and no
With a guard u cannot go close as no guard
U can actually take some more hair with no guard open
But theoretically they are the same
Depending on the clipper used. Also if it's like Wahl, factory they claim it opens to 1.2 or 1.3 mm while the 1/2guard is 1.5mm. So essentially yes
