Kyra Knox I'm so glad you touched on the importance of matching one's foundation with their neck. I am so tired of seeing these so called makeup artists on UA-cam putting foundation all over their necks so that their necks will match the foundation on their faces. Excuse my language, but that is a**-backwards lol! The foundation should - if at all possible - match your neck. I never will forget one time I went to a prestigious makeup boutique at a mall in the Dallas area and by the time that girl finished applying really dark makeup all over my face and neck (my face tends to be half a shade to a whole shade darker than my neck so she made the mistake of trying to match the foundation only to my face) - OMG, she had me looking like some sort of weird grizzly bear! LOL!

I am a beauty consultant who has very little makeup skills. You videos have become invaluable tools in educating me how to make my personal look more professional (me: foundation, concealer, lipstick, occasional eye color, out the door 🙄). I can now then educate my customers. Thank you ever so much!!!

Mattifying primers does not keep the skin from producing oils. Oil combats oil, so if you’re giving your skin something it doesn’t recognize, that’ll make it produce more of that. Notice your skin doesn’t stop producing oils because of a primer, it actually does the same thing and more. Oily skin doesn’t only mean that there’s an over reproduction of sebum, it can also be a sign of dehydration. I’m an Esthetician, I used to think the same thing. Water based moisturizers are really good. They absorb into the skin better than a cream does.

Kenya Hollins ...I always wondered why my t-zone would still look oily after using a primer. I discontinued using it because I felt that it was not working...now I know why. I do agree that a water based moisturizer works best. I switched over to a water based moisturizer and absolutely love it. Thanks for the information.

Kenya Hollins may I ask which is the best cleanser n moisturizer for an oily face ? I also tend to break out frequently n then the breakouts leave dark spots...my face is now full of dark spots on one side. I tried proactiv kit for few years n it worked but now its not effective at all. kindly help. thanks.

Thank you sooooooooo much for this video. This was the EXACT kind of makeup for beginners series I needed. I have looked high and low for months, but most so-called beginner videos are simply demonstrations of makeup application with absolutely no (or no useful) commentary explaining the “why” as well as the “what” and “how.” I usually wouldn’t even bother watching a video that’s over five minutes long because most lengthy YT videos are a complete waste of time - with people droaning on and on about nonsense and interjecting random comments in an attempt at forced humor. But whAt I appreciate about your video was that it was not only incredibly thorough and detailed and actually beginner-friendly - but also not a single minute was wasted with mindless chatter or useless filler. I am about to watch your entire series, and I’ve already shared all your MFB series videos on a level-up femininity group on Facebook that I’m in. Thank you sooo much for taking the time to create such an awesome video. I know I’m going to learn a lot for you, and I can’t wait to watch all the rest of this series (and any more you add to it)!

Also, when I was learning colors and warm tones/cool tones for hair when I was going blonde. I was taught to look at my veins (if you can see them . If they are more green-blue ish then that would be yellow undertones. If they are more blue not so much greenish then that is cool undertones. That sometimes helps

Wow! I really learned so much. I now know I was putting to much color corrector, leading to me looking orange in the end. I also finally understand buying and mixing foundations! So much knowledge you shared. Thank you!! If you are taking suggestions, could you do a video on the different types of color correctors? You touched on green and orange, but when do you use the others?

I just found your channel and subscribed. I need your video in my life . I am wanting to learn the correct way to apply makeup. I use to color correct then add concealer then foundation. I am in my early 50’s with large pores. I use the Becca primer but until recently I thought it was a pore filler . My younger friend told me better and also bought me the Nyx pore Filler. What I did not know however is that you can use both at the same time , thank you for that demonstration. Because of my large pores I stay away from blushes and contouring. I do bronzers . I would like to learn how to do eyeshadows. Thank you so much for these videos.
