100% agree about the "organized" flannel. I noticed something off as well. And yeah, it's just too perfect! Isn't that weird? The grey tank looks great paired with the hoodie. No to the jeans. No to the jean jacket. The maroon top with the flowers does not look grandma-y to me at all, it just looks your age... I know, I know we're in our mid-forties. And you know what? We're not 17 anymore..... We've come a long way though. Have you ever seen old tiny pictures of back in the 50s when women were in there 50s? I mean, they look like old Polish Grandmas is compared to what we look like now!
Two weeks ago we took a trip across the border (I’m Canadian) and at Scheels my husband found the absolute perfect flannel for him. The colours, the fit, the thickness, the cozy, all the best possible perfection…. It was $160usd 😅 It came home with us anyway because he said it felt like a fluffy cloud was cradling him in front of a warm fire, that he never felt so comforted and never wanted to take it off. He is now on a mission to find one for our preteen son so he can experience his joy lol
No to the maroon shirt, yes to your other picks I LOVE ❤ your fashion content bc it’s perfect for all of those in your audience that also feel like we don’t know fashion 😅 Going shopping feels like an ordeal, it’s either gonna be super fun or an absolute dread, it’s never an in between I usually only have fun if I go with friends or fam and it’s at thrift stores (which we stick to anyway ♻️🌎❤) Malls are crappier and crappier lately
I have to say that I 100% agree with your keeps vs returns, though I believe that the price for that camo hoodie is way too high, but if you’re loving the feeling of it, keep it!! ❤️
Aww darn, I think the green/gray heavier plaid shirt is wonderful. I really very much prefer when manufacturer's go to the effort of matching plaids from side to side. It's a sign of a quality garment.
I really like the maroon shirt! It’s something I’d pick for myself and I’m 36. 🤣 I don’t think it’s a grandma shirt at all. As for the services, I think Stitch Fix did a lot better. It helps that you’ve had their service for awhile. The stylist knows more about your likes and dislikes. The Wantable box seemed very haphazard and not as organized. Stitch Fix overall has a better price in the end, too.
I think you should trust your gut with your clothes, Jen! You’re only gonna wear what you love at the end of the day. The wantable olive shirt & the hoodie are cute, and the stitch fix flannel and dress are adorable! I think the floral top from stitch fix was cute, but it doesn’t seem like your style since you’re hesitating on it You’re adorable! Always love these videos ❤
I like brown shirt you wore at the end. I like the dress- it would be super cute with tights and tall boots or booties. The maroon shirt definitely looks better with the jeans. It isn’t grandma.
😂I’m old, the dark purple 3/4 sleeve is the only thing I kept from my last box and I wear it tucked into white jeans. My husband and children loved it but I’m usually much more casual. Loved the blue flannel on you, Jen! And you couldn’t look old if you tried😅
I say trust your gut on the maroon shirt! It’s a lovely color on you, but the sleeve length was on the short side. When I’m unsure about a piece of clothing, it usually ends up being one of those pieces that sits in my closet as an option, but never actually excites me to wear!
I am realizing, like you said, its about how you value your time/effort versus the cost of the item. For me, I slowly add things as I thrift or find pieces online (which costs me a lot of time vs cost of item) I also know I live in my $40 Old Navy jeans and book/fandom themed sweaters and tees--neither of which is in these style boxes😂
Love the flannel, dress, green top, and hoodie! Apparently baggy jeans are the style now but I refuse to join the trend, sticking with my skinnies and occasional boot/straight cut. I may be 26 but believe in comfort over fitting trends lol
Agree with all of your choices. Def try to get the sweatshirt in a diff size since you like it so much. The flowery shirt is nice too! I don't think it's too grandma-ish at all!
Return the purple shirt! Larger patterns like that is what makes it feel like it’s aging. If the print was much smaller, it would have been more flattering. Thanks for sharing this- always been curious about these companies!
I work in a laundromat and we mix our own stain remover into spray bottles. a little bit of water 1 cup ammonia 6 quirts of dawn (from the gigantic bottles with a pump) fill with water and shake In that order is important. It can create a bad gaseous form if not done right, from what I hear. It gets almost everything out. Spaghetti sauce, chocolate, blood, sweat stains, coffee. I'm not sure it would get out food coloring dye because it's not the greatest with ink but it might. If you spray a stain remover and it starts to lift you're golden. If not, you could try rubbing alcohol. Otherwise, you're looking at extremely expensive stain removers to do the job. It may just be worth it to replace the top.
So fun! I have entirely too much of EVERYTHING. From makeup to shoes. Having a 5 bedroom home 🏡 with just myself and 4 rescued huskies means A LOT of space to fill... I have started to purge heavily this summer. Who needs 221 pairs of shoes/boots/footwear!? That sweater looks AMAZINGLY good on you!!
😂😂😂😂 danggg lol I get it, though. I'm that way with eyeshadow palettes. I'm 35 years old and still don't know what I like to wear. Maybe that's why I don't spend a lot on fashion. Thank goodness for that, though, bc I definitely do on eyeshadow palettes & makeup in general
@ashesonmylashesheathereagl8961 haha.. I'm the first to admit it's entirely excessive. I have an entire room dedicated to my "beauty care" I have so many pallets that haven't even been swatched yet. Particularly 4 Natasha Danona, 3 Charlotte ones and 4 of the bigger Huda ones. Summer is short here on the island so far north, so once fall comes, I'm sure I will get my fingers into the "shelf of newness" At 45, no human babies, rescued Northern Labrador Huskies and owning both vehicles, my Discretionary Income has found it's way to good skin care and an effectively absurd amount of everything beauty. Haha. At least I'm honest with myself about it... 💜💜🇨🇦
Love the dress, and the green sweatshirt. Grey tank is just too pricey for what it is but does look nice under the camo zip up. Flannel just isn’t my thing so I’d say no to both. No to the shoes, jeans, hot pink shirt and denim skirt. The maroon floral shirt is cute! Style it tucked in with a pair of high waisted black pants for a comfy, stylish business casual look. Love you, Jen!
For jeans the trends seem to change pretty quickly. I'd say wear the cut you like. That's also what the style channels I watch would say. Trends are for experimenting, style is about authenticity. Do and wear what you love. I have learned to go with Lee or Levi for jeans. The quality is there and because of that it saves me money in the long run. They are expensive, but sales help. They don't wear out like cheaper jeans. Lee has a stretch fit available for the tummy that doesn't give frumpy vibes.
For the food coloring stain, I read from a mom influencer who does food coloring art projects all the time that you let the garment soak in water for a long time and it will just come out, no need to use stain stuff.
I have been wearing the same straight leg style jean my whole life, I'm not changing I like the way they fit and I can still find them instore so fuck trends.
Hi Jen 😊 I like the clothes that you picked up and I am a no with the flower maroon shirt. Truly adorable when you liked the cothes that are soft to the touch 😊 ❤
I laughed out loud when you asked if your feet get bigger when you get older because it happened to me! I swear I'm 1/4 to a 1/2 size larger these days. It makes online shoe shopping tough!
Love the blue flannel! The maroon shirt with flowers is very Pioneer Woman inspired. Love her, dislike the shirt. And a jean skirt is a... thing that exists.
Jen, you look so good in that skirt! The dress is adorable, definitely keep it. The brown sweater - omygosh keep it! Looks so soft and comfy :) No tot the grey tank top and a hoodie - they both look too ordinary.
I like everything you liked. You made good choices. If you average 4 pieces of clothing 4 times a year =16 pieces in one year. Pretty low. You end with pieces you love and will wear. Most importantly, you save a lot of time. Thanks for sharing.😁
That last hot pink shirt reminds me of the 2008 “going out” top. I think the jeans looked great. I think the hoodie was too short. I personally don’t like that style of bootie. The tank looked comfy but more like a workout top! I feel like I watch a lot of these videos and most people seem disappointed in what they get 😅 I don’t love the maroon top bc it reminds me of church and I don’t personally love florals haha
Keep that burgundy flower top. It is a great color for you, and the print doesn't scream "grandma" to me. I'm 10 years older than you, though. I actually thought the denim skirt was cute, but it's all about what you're comfortable in. I wouldn't keep the green sweater you kept, but I don't like green. I love those booties.
I LOVE the burgundy shirt on you! I would only keep the camo hoodie if they let you exchange and it fits the way you want. It's SO expensive and if it doesn't feel like it fits well then you'll be less likely to wear it. I know you're not keeping it, but I actually liked the bright pink shirt on you. I think it would look cool under a structured jacket or blazer. And I believe you can wear any color you want at any time of the year. Sometimes brighter colors can help lift your mood in the darker months.
I like the floral shirt, but then again I turned 30 this year and am reveling in dressing "like a 30 year old". I've been phasing tshirts out of my wardrobe for years and love a casual blouse, so maybe our clothing philosophies are a bit different.
I totally relate with you on this! I just turned 31 and my preference in clothing has COMPLETELY matured! It’s weird because I was a tshirt and jeans type of person my whole life. But now I’m starting to get a collection of actual blouse shirts. Maybe something happens to us at 30 that changes our style preferences!
It is true that straight leg, boyfriend/dad fit, cargoes, and even flares are back in style. The good news for you is that so is low rise, which I know you prefer. The stitch-fix blouse did not look to grandma; it just needs to be tucked in. I'd wear it with some dark jeans and some boots or loafers. The jeans skirt would look nice with a sweater, tights, and boots. My favorite on you, however, was the dress!
These services work for you. I am happy ordering online, not going in store, but i have the shopping gene so it's fun to pick myself. Totally agree on your choices, and i vote no on flowered top. It doesnt do you justice. It's fine, but so many other things like the hoodie and dress are so gorgeous on you that you don't have to settle for "ok.". I love to watch these vids because it's interesting how different something looks on you compared to on the hanger. It shows it's worth waiting for "wow" instead of ok even for an everyday shirt. I think even if an older sister offered you the flower shirt as a few hand me down, that you could do better unless you have unlimited closet space
I think you made the right choices. That sweater from wantable was so cute! I think for the purple shirt, if you need something professional then keep it, otherwise for going out I think send it back. It definitely looked way better with the jeans than the denim skirt though! And okay I swear my feet have gotten bigger in the last year! I was always a 6.5 but I have been having to get more size 7's now. I don't think the shoes have any more padding than ones I usually get either. I told my husband and he just laughed at me haha, so I'm so glad someone else said this lol.
I do love the maroon top on you! I think it could be very flattering paired with a good pair of pants. Personally, I’ve let go of what’s “fashionable” and I’m just trying to dress for my body. I think more fitted pants are a better choice with flowy-er tops like that maroon one than the looser styles that are more “in fashion” right now. Looking classy, balanced, and flattering your body is NEVER out of style, in my opinion! Also I don’t think that hoodie is too short :)
Dress is very cute. Jean skirt is ok but not with that top. Girl those jeans looked GREAT on you! I am a big believer you wear what you like or what makes you happy. I used Stitch Fix for years and rebuilt my wardrobe. Thanks for sharing.
Loved your picks. (I'm new to your channel) I really liked the hot pink top on you too, it's great with your coloring, and it just looked sophisticated in a fun breezy way, so it would do well as a happy pop-of-color layer in the winter too (might be out of your comfort zone) But you could definitely pull it off, being adorable. Save your money on the maroon shirt... The boatneck sweater will look fantastic worn off one shoulder. Kinda sexy kinda carefree and still warm and cozy. Edit: Keep your eye out for a long, or midi-length slit denim skirt that is kinda made like jeans, you'll have fun wearing it with boots, booties, sandals or sneakers, and whatever you like on top, from a graphic tee to a great chunky sweater.
I do think the maroon shirt is a bit of a grandma shirt, but I think the camo hoody fits you really well and doesn’t look too short to me! I know the blue flannel is overpriced but it looked great, and I loved the dress! The bright pink didn’t look bad but I can see how it might not fit your personal style *Had to edit to add that I love the green sweater you picked too!
I like the floral maroon top on you. Especially with the jeans. Maybe try wearing it with bottoms you already own and like. And see if they go well with that.
Maroon shirt is a no in my opinion. It’s giving Grandma. I feel like most of these clothes are overpriced. You can definitely go to T.J.Maxx or target or a local boutique and get all these. Even AE or hollister for basics. Just my opinion. The green sweater was cute!! Keep that!! ❤
First of all, we are both Deep Winter! As soon as you said the bright pink was your color, I knew! Also the jean skirt looked CUTE. Wear it with a slightly fitted graphic tee that ends just above your hips (which you have SO MANY of). Also I have boots like those and they really repel staining and such.
I agree with your picks 100%, the maroon top is ok but not great. I really wish you would try the subscription box dailylook to see if it stacks up to these two. ❤❤❤
I absolutely loved the maroon shirt and skirt on you! I know your not keeping the skirt but wanted to throw that out there because you DID absolutely look fabulous!
Jen whenever I wear denim skirts I usually wear a form fitting bodysuit whether that be a tank, T, or long sleeves. Just my two cents, but I feel like that’s the best way to style a denim skirt!
Denim skirt, oversized black turtleneck sweater, black tights and black boots. With low heel, a feminine biker boot perhaps. A bag is a dark rich read or pewter. Done
I like the maroon shirt on you a lot. It could definitely be a way to dress up pair of jeans, but also be casual enough for daywear. But the bottom line is: Do YOU like it. I kind of disregard the idea of something aging you or making you look too young. It is really about how it makes you feel. Does it bring you joy? If so, then it's for you.
Hello Jen. The blue shirt -yes The black dress - yes. The maroon blouse maybe. Denim skirt - no. The green jumper - yes The grey tank top - no. The jeans - no. The hoodie - not sure . The grey shirt - no. The pink top - no. Hope this helps. Jane in New Zealand 🇬🇧
I liked the neon pink top on you. The cowl neck often detracts from areas that we’d like to hide. The grey flannel was a huge no. It’s very boxy; although I did like how well they matched the plaid on that! I sew, and matching stripes & plaids can be such a pain! The burgundy shirt is a pass. The sleeves are not well made & too short for you. The skirt was a huge no, as well as the jeans. I agree about the little boots. It’s a shame that the blue plaid shirt was so very thin. The dress was cute, though.
The skirt could have gone well with the sweater you're wearing in the outro or with the cowl neck fuschia top, even with the hoodie or plaid shirt with a tank or tee underneath. Overall, definitely agreed with your picks, which is apparently not suprising as we're close in age and very much love the comfy plaids and styles of the 90s. I am simultaneously thrilled with the resurgence in stores and amused at seeing the kids at my kids high school sporting similar clothes to what me and my friends wore when we were still in high school, lol. At least it's a good decade style wise to emulate. 😁
Yes, your feet keep growing. I wear a lot of Kut from the Kloth which is the blue flannel and I love them. Their stuff lasts forever. Boatneck sweater looks adorable. Black dress looks good and age appropriate which is good. Good dress to have in the closet because you can wear it whenever.
So for the dress I would pull up your waist a little higher- stop pulling down. The higher the waist band the longer the legs look. Also anything with a tie around the neck, keep untied. Tying it makes it a little matronly and maybe a little stuffy. For the denim skirt if you want to try this season you’re going to want one that’s a little longer in length but preferably with a split up the front. That way it’s more streamline! For the maroon top I think it could work in a way that’s not “grandma, I think if you front tucked into a wide leg Jean with a pointy toe boot that’s going to elongate your legs but also keep you on trend. Loved the first plaid shirt- very versatile!!!! Ps your makeup looks so great in this video!! I’m a long time watcher but I never comment!! I work in the fashion industry at a boutique in Raleigh, NC for women in your age range! 😊
I'm with you on the skirt, I'm not a Jean Skirt Gal either. I love the dress on you and the flannel. The shoes are so cute, but I think they'll crease for sure. My favorites are in the second box, I love most of the tops in that one! I think the tank would be cute with the flannel. I'd ask for a size bigger on the zip-up because if you dry it, it's probably going to shrink I'm with you on the pink shirt too, I don't like the cut
Thanks for sharing. Spend what you want how you want!! I enjoy your clothing box videos. The Stitch Fix items just seem a little dated (out of fashion) IMO, but I can understand why some folks may find the items appealing. You look great in jeans, but keep in mind that denim with more stretch will end up dropping down more by the end of the day-maybe why you’re getting the “jeans drop.” Don’t sleep on LLBean flannels! Similar price point, probably, but nice and thick quality, totally 90s! The Wantable flannel that was itchy may have had some acrylic…totally itchy for a lot of folks. The camo hoodie is cute! Stay aware of fabric content-if it’s super soft (rayon, lyocell), it may pill easily. You’re doing fine with your fashion sense-give yourself some kind words!
Yes, your feet can get bigger, you can research the pregnancy hormones and read about it 😘. I love all the stuff from stitch fix. I get the whole idea of using your own time wisely ❤
9:56 Jen, please don’t ever feel like you need to explain what you’re spending money on. It is YOUR money and you can do with it what you want!
100% agree about the "organized" flannel. I noticed something off as well. And yeah, it's just too perfect! Isn't that weird? The grey tank looks great paired with the hoodie. No to the jeans. Maroon shirt is ok but sleeves are a little short... I'd say no
Forgot to say that! I knew I didn’t like it…
Love the camo hoodie
That boat neck sweater was definitely my favorite!! SUCH a pretty color on you, Jen ❤
Two weeks ago we took a trip across the border (I’m Canadian) and at Scheels my husband found the absolute perfect flannel for him. The colours, the fit, the thickness, the cozy, all the best possible perfection…. It was $160usd 😅

No to the maroon shirt, yes to your other picks
I LOVE ❤ your fashion content bc it’s perfect for all of those in your audience that also feel like we don’t know fashion 😅
Going shopping feels like an ordeal, it’s either gonna be super fun or an absolute dread, it’s never an in between
I usually only have fun if I go with friends or fam and it’s at thrift stores (which we stick to anyway ♻️🌎❤)
Malls are crappier and crappier lately
I think the maroon shirt is great, pair it with a dark jean & it will be perfect for fall 👌🏼 I say go for it!
I like the maroon shirt! It’s great for your color season and will look more “young” with some statement jewelry, dark jeans, and boots.
The dress looks amazing on you 🙌🏽 it does not age you ! It makes you look goooood!
Yes, the dress looks cute and flirty!
I really like the maroon shirt! It’s something I’d pick for myself and I’m 36. 🤣 I don’t think it’s a grandma shirt at all.

woman after my own heart! Before you even look at the item you have to loooove the feel of the fabric. Yes!
I love these videos so much! I love and agree with all your picks. I would personally pass on the maroon. I love that boat neck sweater, I want it! X
I personally think that burgundy shirt is pretty on you! I think it would look super cute tucked into some black jeans.

That's a lot of doll hairs for a few items of clothing 😱😱😱

Love the jeans and brown top wantable on you

Jen those jeans are soooo figure flattering on you I love where they hit your natural waist and the button fly is so cool.
Think the maroon shirt is a keeper too. Can wear it with jeans or black pants.
I loved the maroon shirt! It looked really good tucked into jeans! Yes!!
The olive sweater you liked has a boat neck!

Hi Jen! Definitely agree with your keeps and returns. My opinion is no on the maroon flower shirt.
No on the big floral print. No on the pink cowl neck shirt. Hoodie looks good. You made good choices 👍🏽
I love the clothes you picked! I thought the purple floral shirt looked so cute on you and I vote to keep it!! 💜

I like what you picked. To me the maroon top is old lady style. Ty for the video 😀💜
You look amazing in those jeans and that sweater top. The maroon shirt looked good!
I love the maroon floral shirt, with the jeans and the skirt actually
That bright red top, I just had a flash; you would look exactly like Meg White from the White Stripes!
That black dress is so cute and doesn’t age you at all! Denim skirt is cute too but if you don’t feel confident or enjoy wearing it then it’s a “no”.
Maroon shirt looks great. Less relaxed and a little fancier but cute.
I think a jean a-line skirt (shorter too 😉) would be cuter. I don't think that one would look great on anyone. The maroon top is very cute!
The red floral shirt is giving school teacher vibes.
I do think the maroon shirt is a bit of a grandma shirt, but I think the camo hoody fits you really well and doesn’t look too short to me!
I know the blue flannel is overpriced but it looked great, and I loved the dress!
The bright pink didn’t look bad but I can see how it might not fit your personal style
*Had to edit to add that I love the green sweater you picked too!
I like the floral maroon top on you. Especially with the jeans. Maybe try wearing it with bottoms you already own and like. And see if they go well with that.
I love the blue flannel but I do agree the price is a lil up there. Maroon shirt I also thought was cute!
I liked everything except the skirt, the pink thing and the tank!
Keep that!! ❤
I think the burgundy shirt looks so good on you !! Yes keep it ..
The purple blouse is a no, no. The dress is beautiful. The blue flannel looks very comfy. 😊
I love these fashion videos. I like your choices, but I would send back the maroon shirt
I love the videos! They are one of my favorites. I don’t like ether of these boxes for you. The flannel in the 2nd box is my fav
Done
I absolutely love this video, love seeing your reactions 😊
I don’t love clothing subscriptions, but I love the videos you make about it, thank you and keep them coming. ❤️
That dress is wonderful for fall and super youthful and hot IF YOU add knee high boots and some tights maybe, but definitely with knee high boots
I am not a fan of the way the marron blouse sits on you, I would return it. I agree with you with the flannels, the blue looks so cool on you.
Jen! When you tucked the top into the skirt, the skirt itself looked way cute!! I think this is a keeper and tuck ❤❤ the fit was lovely!
Hello Jen. The blue shirt -yes
The black dress - yes.
The maroon blouse maybe.
Denim skirt - no.
The green jumper - yes
The grey tank top - no.
The jeans - no.
The hoodie - not sure .
The grey shirt - no.
The pink top - no. Hope this helps. Jane in New Zealand 🇬🇧
The skirt is adorable and needs a graphic Tee.
Yesss extra video!! 🥰❤️ you are amazing!!
Yes to the flower shirt!!
My 2 cents: try the maroon shirt tucked in just a bit at the front. Try the heavy flannel open maybe over the brown sweater.
Also love the olive green type sweater!
Grab the olive sweater the blue flannel and the camo. I bet that Jean skirt, with the camo hoodie might be cute?
I'm with you on the skirt, I'm not a Jean Skirt Gal either. I love the dress on you and the flannel. The shoes are so cute, but I think they'll crease for sure.
My favorites are in the second box, I love most of the tops in that one! I think the tank would be cute with the flannel. I'd ask for a size bigger on the zip-up because if you dry it, it's probably going to shrink
I'm with you on the pink shirt too, I don't like the cut
Flower shirt is good for slightly more dressy occasions like church or a school event. You have an amazing figure and all of them like good.
I loved the flannel. I personally love floral print but the cut of the maroon shirt was off. I love the dress ❤
Yes, your feet can get bigger, you can research the pregnancy hormones and read about it 😘. I love all the stuff from stitch fix. I get the whole idea of using your own time wisely ❤
