Let’s get real: Human nature being what it is + capitalism = it’s going to be real difficult if not impossible to hold BRK together post Buffett….the company is so big that even Warren’s returns have been waining…..the CEOs of the major business unit are going to want to go their own way, and tremendous new shareholder value could be created with well timed spin-offs, split-offs and sales to strategic buyers…..they’ll try and placate shareholders with a dividend at first but it won’t work…..ultimately, I bet even Greg will see the light.
Never pay dividends or cap gains!!! If shareholders believe they can do better with the capital they should sell their shares. It also violates Warrens idea that compounding is the eighth wonder of the world.
Great conversation thank you Conseulo and Lawrence.
Thanks!
Charlie and Warren's relationship would make a great read
It's strange how he describes Berkshire's successes in the past tense, as if it is no longer possible for Berkshire to be successful in the future...

Disappointed he recommended CAC. Both state of New York and the CFPB have filed lawsuits alleging unethical if not illegal practices.
