So glad to find this review. There video reviews of so many other Procon boy models on youtube but not this specific one. This airbrush moved near the top of my list when I found a US seller but to find out that it is better than the comparable Iwata which I can't find for nearly the same price and comparable in quality to the much more expensive Harder and Steenbecks, I will definitely be getting this when I buy a second airbrush.
Always enjoy your reviews. Good information and detailed review. I bought this air brush recently and was hard press to find a good review. Your's knocked it out of the park.
FLOREY gave a raving review which persuaded me to purchase one. This review just confirms everything that FLOREY Models said. Mine is hopefully on its way from AMAZON. Cheers👍🏻🍻🇦🇺Mate.
Procon Boy PS270, PS289, PS770. Just fantastic airbrushes. I prefer them to my H&S Infintiy and my Iwata HP-B Plus. And they were cheaper. Most under rated airbrushes on the market.
Thank you for this video. I currently use a Harder&Steenbeck Evolution airbrush but I'm having problems with it; it is very, very finicky in how it works, splatters easily if the pain thickness and/or air pressure is just off. I am looking at this PS270 and hoping it might be a better airbrush than the Evolution. Would you mind giving me some advice? (I already replaced the spring, nozzle and needle of the Evo: to no avail).
This airbrush is definitely much friendlier and forgiving when compared to the H&S (Evo, Infinity). The one major downside of this airbrush is its small nozzle, dropped it once and it had me crawling looking for it for who knows how long >.
wipes the floor with the H+s initially cr that's for sure! alot cheaper to! I wish I tried this one first before my H+s that just sits in the rack now never used! the ps 268 is good to 0.2 the cup inside is like ammos airviper I bought to try it's actually very good! nothing sticks to the cup inside either so easy cleaned think that copper looking coating has something to do with making it really nice to use
Great review! I'm shopping for my first two airbrushes right now and this was a big help (Need a 0.2 mm and standard 0.3 mm). Any other specific airbrushes you would recommend to beginners?
Not going to put this down at all! Plus if you need finer detail you can pop the Creos PS-770 head and .18 needle (PS-770) on it! Also the Badger Sotar and Iwata HP-CH Hi-Line or if you have large hands the Paasche Talon, Bit more expensive But the Harder & Steenbeck Infinity CR or Evolution will also do the job!
No quibbles with your favorable review - I like the brush a lot. However, if you look at the instructions, they advise you not to remove the needle and to clean it by back flow. You can buy a special kit for taking off the tip, but it's very delicate. It's hard to believe Creos is right here, but I've been following their recommendation and the brush appears to be in perfect working order. I think the seals are very good - when you remove the needle, there's almost no sign of paint behind the tip - so maybe Creos is right. Harder Steenbeck brushes are usually coated with paint on their needles - but they are easy to clean - they just don't work as well as the Japanese competition in my view. And I've bought three of them.
Greetings Mitko! Thank you very much for the detailed review.Could you please help me with the following situation? I'm looking for a good airbrush currently and opted for H&S Infinity. I have funds to buy it of course, but still I find its price a bit too high, so I decided to find a possible alternative. Some people also say that you have to be extremely careful with it, as its nozzle and needle (especially 0,15 mm) are quite fragile and may be easily damaged. So I can't make a definite opinion. After I found out about this particular model, I consider it as an option too. Moreover, I use Mr.Color (mostly) and Hobby color paints mainly. There are several things however I'd like to clarify: what kind of seals does it have and how does it perform when dealing with agressive solvents? I work with 72 and 48 scales and have experience with rather cheap copies of Iwata and Fengda airbrushes, so the design is quite familiar to me. All fellow modellers feel free to give your comments and recomendations as well. Any info and experience would be valuable. Thanks in advance.
I wouldn't worry about the seals. This as well as 770 are very good airbrushes. I don't like h&s in general due to flimsy triggers. Its either this, sparmax or iwata for me
Some people overlook these airbrushes and go for Iwata or Harder and Steenbeck. They shouldn't, these are actually better brushes and a lot cheaper, if you know where to buy them 😉
Mitko Nikitov and all other modeling colleagues who read this, I wanted to buy this PS270 or PS770 for precision work but what size of nozzle you recommend for general purpose like gloss and flat coats, primers etc, for that less precise work, 0.3 or 0.5 for example?
Dear Mitko Your airbrush reviews and videos are just wonderful !!!! It also would be great to make a video about how is the proper way to clean after airbrushing the PS-270 or the PS-770 , because GSI Creos suggests never to dissmandle the nozzle or to remove the needle !!!!! Just to spray cleaner and to backflash !!!!!! I beleive you can propose an alternative to that as expert you are. Best regards
I am by no means an expert, but to be honest I do prefer not do remove the nozzle too. It's too risky. And id you flush with couple of cups of cleaner you should be fine. But yeah. In general a video about proper cleaning will be in order.
Bought in 2015 directly in Japan during a trip and it's a killer for the price (i bought it 52€) and stand the comparison with the iwata HI line CH. And the replacement parts are very cheap (but available only in japan i'm afraid...)!
Thank you very much for the review . i have just bought the 0.2mm procon boy platinum . I know Japanese airbrushes are very good , I have Tamiya Spraywork HGIII 0.2mm I had this tamiya for over 3-4years , both airbrushes tamiya and procon is made by BB RICH same factory that making Iwata . I have iwata myself . Thank you again . Now I only wait for the postman :-) :-) regards , 55year old modeller .
Beautiful review! Such a professional comments. I admire your ability of reviewing this little airbrush !
I have this airbrush and it is amazing, fine cammo work is really easy and it will still paint bigger areas...
+Ian Miller it is truly a very versatile tool.
i realize it's kind of off topic but do anybody know of a good site to stream new tv shows online?
@Desmond Samuel Flixportal
@Kabir Cameron Thanks, I signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there =) I appreciate it !!
@Desmond Samuel glad I could help xD

I've just got one of these. Not used it yet but the instructions say not to remove the nozzle or needle to clean it.
Thank you for the review. I'm quite surprised by the lack of residue behind the cup which quite often happens in my H&S

True that!
I've been looking to up-grade my airbrush and this was most helpful. Looks like my new brush is chosen. Thanks my friend for an excellent vid.
Excellent tool Mitko. This is another one made by B.B. Rich which is the same company that OEM's Iwata and Tamiya. A quality product for sure.
Very pleasant to work with Andy! I loved it. The trigger is silk-smooth. Absolutely loved it!

Donde puedo conseguir repuestos para este aerografo y se envíen a México? Gracias
Is it versitile? Can this 270 as shown do base coat & primer etc in say 32nd scale aircraft or 350 ship kits?
Detail apps look supurb!🤗
Absolutely.
Does the trigger provide proportional air flow, or do you have to use the forward pressure regulator?
Trigger is enough
@@DNModels Thanks!

What compressor did you use?
Hello! what is the diference FWA and WA ? Thanks! ;)
Hey,
Nice vid
I noticed that there is a fwa version and a wa version can someone tell me if there is a difference?
Great review! I'm shopping for my first two airbrushes right now and this was a big help (Need a 0.2 mm and standard 0.3 mm). Any other specific airbrushes you would recommend to beginners?
Sparmax have cheap options

Is it worth to give 30€ more to buy the PS-270 (160€ in Greece) instead of PS-267 ?
Worth a look the PS 270, Great reveiw, Mitko.
Superb review✌️😊
How easy is it to remove the nozzle and airhead for cleaning?🤔✌️👍
Excuse me, that airbrush has PTFE seals, I can't find the specification.

Great video, thank you. One point: drying tip is the paint surely? I never have that MRP paint.
can i use 0.3 needle from PS289 for PS270?

@@DNModels I've found the info about those seals. It's made of teflon and this is really good! Thanks.
@@DNModels Help with the choice! I need an airbrush for small details, choose between Creos PS270 or Sparmax SP-20X. Which is better?

I like single action Sparmax or Iwata.
This video helped convince me to buy one. Thanks! Just got mine today!
Great review! if you had to choose only one. 0.2 or 0.3...which would you recommend? I can only afford one.
Always the middle number. Probably .3
Great review. Thanks for sharing Mitko

I think you can get spares rather easily. But that might not be a fact for everybody. Depending on where you are located.

Hahaha true!
