I can't wait for this movie, I'm Native American but not Osage. I'm Diné (Navajo) but my heart goes out to the Osage Nation, there is still so much generational trauma in tribes across the United States, but we remain resilient 🦅🧡🫂
I am was so glad to read your comment! I’m a white male, and was so disturbed by this book, but am nevertheless excited to see Martin Scorcesse’s adaptation. While I have enjoyed watching clips of all the press at Canne celebrating the Osage, I’ve wondered how other Native American’s felt about this story being told. I was glad to see at least one Diné perspective, and hope people from other tribes share their perspectives and stories as this movie comes out!
I love history, I study history, ancient, jazz age, doesn't matter. I hold a special place for native American history, the deep spirituality, the suffering and tragedy these people have endured. I'm glad this was made. Truth needs to be exposed.
Always been fascinated with the story of indigenous people. The more we are shedding light on it now, the more I’m realizing how it’s been systematically swept under the rug. They were the first and most connected to the land and the soul of the planet. It’s heartbreaking what’s been done to them. Lily seems like such a strong spirited woman and so calm and poised. Can’t wait to see this
Europeans will clap for anything, especially if the film is critical of something in American society. That amplifies the applause. When I see the same crowd of actors and directors there is something self-congratulatory about them. It’s smugness. It’s probably a great movie.
I cannot wait to share this film with my children. I want them to learn everything that SCHOOL doesn't teach. The facts and truth of our Native brothers and sisters.
I grew up in the Pacific Northwest. Some of our school history textbooks are written by Native American historians, and that’s what we learned from. This was in the early 2000’s- and I took this for granted. Now I am so grateful to have learned that history varies from version to version depending on who is telling it. And most often it’s told by the victor.

I do hope this film reverberates here in Brazil to help our native population in their quest for justice and their fight for the preservation of the Amazon Region against illegal exploration of our natural resouces.
