Tying Our Own Jigs: the Minnow Jig

Normally we jig, jigs. Right? Well, the idea behind the minnow jig is for it to have the option to be swum in a straight retrieve as well as jigged. It's based on my Weamer series of flies that combines a marabou body with a bucktail wing. The marabou has excellent movement so it will look alive and enticing on a straight retrieve. When fishing rivers, it even can be swung like a fly.
