As my hair is thinning…I desperately like the hat style of that era!!
This was their world. No holidays in Spain, no issues with wifi dropping out, no particle filters clogging up, no air conditioning breaking down when you need it.
brilliant footage, true hard workers that built up Barrow from a village to the pinnacle of the nations nuclear deterrent builder.
The addition of color enhances the viewing experience and adds a greater sense of impact.

Strange to think, everyone in hats……..flat caps for the workers and the occasional Bowler-hatted bosses!
In London the top hats trumped the bowlers! A real 3 tier class system!
Foremen would wear bowlers. I suspect might be one boss passes in a taller bowler...

Trust these grinning cheeky little urchins to monkey about in front of the Camera, which must have been known to very few in 1901. They should have been at school, not labouring in a heavy metal factory. Photo Cameras, were known about, but a Movie Camera with the man winding the handle on the side ? not so much. There were NO, Cinema's then.

Those kids - they seem to be workers as well - in those days kids went to work early - how sad that most of them did not get to enjoy their childhood
