Nice work , you are a real artist and supremely talented. Very modest as well, I think you should give yourself some more credit. Not everyone can be a technician ( and a good one, like you). I have been a dental tech for a long time and I can tell that your skill level is very high. I want to ask you about your build up liquid, which brand do you recommend ? Greetings from Canada! :))
Aww, I’ve never gotten such high praise before, I don’t even know what to say… I will do my best to keep the bar high😊 As for the buildup liquid, I think it’s by Initial for MC. I’ll make sure to show it in my next video
Beautiful work! As a user of Vita porcelain I always fight with shrinkage and tearing of the porcelain, especially on bigger bridges as this one. Is there a technique you use to combat this, or do you think the build up liquid is helping alleviate that problem? :)
Hi, Brian! Yes, Vita porcelain is quite challenging when it comes to tearing and I have to deal with it quite often. In case of a bridge like this I scoop out porcelain between the crowns with my brush, but I never cut the porcelain to separate crowns. Little tearing still happens and I fill it in with dentine porcelain during glaze. Then I polish embrasures with thin green rubber diamond disc (Attritor or Cera work best) and diamond paste to finish. Some technicians recommended to make bridges in 2 bakes yet I try to get it done in one - it works better for me. As for buildup liquid - I use Initial MC or Vita for buildup and I think that Initial is a little bit better even for Vita porcelain
I honestly am not very sure about this particular case cause I myself don’t do metal or even apply opaque. I know that our lab uses semi precious high noble metal that is called “Euro”: 40% gold 39% palladium 10% silver you can make bridges up to 6 units out of it. We also use chrome cobalt and other metals that have abbreviations like P metal and L metal, I don’t know what that means. I hope this was helpful
I'm oposite..it does not matter if it is a single crown or full mouth bridge I always do 3 bakes ..on Denton gingival cases more.. first bake is core( chroma)( luminary, opaq dentine).. second is hue(shade)(a prescribed shade transpa dentin + effects) and 3-rd bake is for controlling value( luminosity)(with pigmented enamel eg u add transpa dentine to control value).. btw clinical work and experience helps allot during our work especially in hard classes when we need to chose right material for that case to get best results...knowing the materials is our job.we need to be masters of materials not vice versa ..in your case knowing the metal on which you put porculain is always good..bcz we want to play with CTE problems..I understand you work in a bigger lab where one person doing model work another is responsible for construction eg wax or cad ..third applies opaquer and so on....that phase work is ok for some but for some who are truly into dental technology isn't enough( I'm now on holidays so do have time to check UA-cam insta etc..I found you yesterday while looking for something else..and you said our work is technical and does not require talent..well yes in a way that's true but same could be said for painters yet it's just one Picasso..you are humble but the way you do the morfology it shows me that you are quite talented and that you invested in studying too....I personally never worked in such big factory labs but I have been in a visit of few of such labs and I'm not fan of some of the practices they do..
Hi! I used regular water soluble markers. I have a video about it: “how to add colors to your buildup” Don’t use permanent markers though - they are not suitable for mixing with porcelain. If you’re trying it for the First time I would recommend to mix a small amount and bake it to see what comes out, just to be safe
Hi! I just used water soluble markers in this video, but food coloring works well too. Mix a little with buildup liquid and add your porcelain, then bake a small amount to make sure it comes out as usual😊🙌Just don’t use permanent markers for your buildup, they make porcelain white after bake
Hi! I usually don’t clean my brushes - I just wipe them with a paper tissue and regular water. After they dry up I dip them in water again to start building crowns. If you have natural brushes they become fluffy after they dry and some hairs split - that can be avoided by keeping them in water after you are done working: just put on protective plastic tube over the brush and put it in a glass of water and keep them like that every time you are not using them. Or just use synthetic brushes like me, they are much better and don’t need any maintenance😉😊

Please mam you or someone here reading this comment. Give me the trick/ formula to keep/maintain the material in good playing condition while doing build up for big bridges . Because it's some times getting dry again and we cannot add ideally the other layer smoothly after some time
Hi! I think that the best solution is to use buildup liquid with a drop of glaze liquid for your porcelain mix as well as keep adding moisture by picking up liquid with your brush and applying it to your bridge from time to time to the parts that are drying out

Para ti cuál es la mejor cerámica para metal?
I think “Initial GC” is the best for metal and “Initial Lisi” for zirconia and Emax. “Creation” is also a good system, but too expensive…
