    WOW!!!! Not only a great playing demo, with excellent descriptions of the action/feel and response, but you also took the time to describe what external gear you were using and how you were interfacing everything. Super helpful and informative. EVERY UA-camr should take note. Don't just show off the gear, but take a moment to describe how you're hooking things up. I've been looking for something like this to interface to an iPad/iPhone and this seems just too perfect. I have a Wavestation I play live, and this and an iPad may just replace it. Easier to transport too. Many thanks!

    A video like this makes me think the r/piano subreddit is full of snobs because they talk about foldables like this one as if they're absolute garbage not worth the time. But this demonstration and others makes me think this one is pretty good for the price.
    My only issue is this model and ones like it seem to come from the same manufacturer in China and get sold under different brand names with slightly different button layouts and features and I don't know which one to get.

  • @mikeybaloney6211
    @mikeybaloney6211 Рік тому +3

    My suggestion to avoid chasing for that troublesome pedal is to have a customised platform build around it to provide a bigger surface area on the ground or if it does not have a rubber pad underneath the pedal, put four rubber pads on it, and you may add a rubber or wool mat below it for added friction/resistance and you can pin the other end of the mat underneath the chair you are sitting on to avoid getting dragged during use. Those are the things I did with the kick pedal of my electronic drum kit as I get a similar problem which happens to all contraptions that's being moved around on any instrument that doesn't have a sturdy support to latch on to.

    • @benjaminacargen7799

      I don't have problems anymore chasing those sustain pedals sliding or running away, those round or square thin silicone rubber pads for your hot pans and kettles in the kitchen are of great help, put one under your pedal and presto! . . . they don't run away anymore!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰

    I was waiting for the part that you talked about the bluetooth latency but you didn't go on with more informations.May I know if you were using the and testing the bluetooth function between the iPad and the keyboard all this while or it was via the cable ? Is the latency totally acceptable during performance ? Last question, is the music sheet holder really that insecure because I am using a 10.5" iPad and if drop on stage while performing from a standing keyboard stand height can spell disaster like a crack screen.Please help me with your answers.

Do you use the charging cable that comes with the piano, and connect it to a female USB adapter that you hook up to your tablet, where it works just like if you were going to use a midi ports or usb to host port? If possible I'd like to use it with Synthesia to learn songs, so currently charging my laptop to see if I can get that to work. But if I can do the same with my tablet that would be a lot easier.

    A travel piano with lithium-ion rechargeable battery can be taken on a flight. Don't want to put it in the overhead compartment even if there is room since many come with a soft case that won't take the stress from people shoving their luggage in. In a tight economy seat many of these can probably fit under the seat. I traveled with a violin in the overhead before. The case has enough padding to prevent damage from other carry-on bags.

    There's no debating the usefulness of the ipad for pianists and keyboardists, as much as we all want to stay off our screens!
    But most portable keyboards just leave out basic midi controls and master screen, to the point where midi control have just been delegated off the piano and onto the screens we already have -portable tablets. Or reserved for only for premium stage and studio instruments.

I travel all the time (internationally), but this time I want to take a music instrument with me. Once my laptop has been charged I'm gonna try and hook up the power cable that comes with it. Seeing if I can use Synthesia with it. If that works is it the same deal for hooking it up to a tablet or even a phone I just need to get an adapter cable?
    I also tried searching for the apps that you use to change what piano sound it makes and turns out android no longer supports ravenscroft and could not find pneuma either just a radio player with the same name. Do you have recommendations for other apps that I can try and see if there are android versions of? I'd love to be able to switch from grandpiano sound to an old-time western sound for when I learn how to play some ragtime songs again after not having played for over a decade.

    My mom bought that folding piano for me, I don't like sound output of the piano, we're returning because we wanted to take for outdoor playing and we know we wont be able to hear this in the park when cars are going by. We have iPad pro but we wont be taking that with us, and have it stolen. It was a nice try, but mom got the Roland GoKeys instead and that might work.

    1.) One also concern is - if you take this to your gigs - can you use a normal X piano stand to hold it in place while playing? or do you always do need a flat surface?
    2.) Changing that built-in battery how hard is it to replace? Is it easily replaceable in any battery shops?
