I love this one. In my mind the Black Dog is related to this situation, but comes before Clean. “6 weeks of breathing clean air, but I still miss the smoke.” The Black Dog is when you are still sad and angry after a break up. Clean is acceptance and healing.

I took the meaning as addicted to someone and you know they are bad for you, so you have to cut it off. "Just because you're clean don't mean you don't miss it", and "now that I'm clean, I'm never gonna risk it" - because even a small lapse of letting them in can mean you're back, all in.

AB, you were starting to do so well with responding and respecting our comments on your videos. Now I see you have gone down to one like, no responses and this was days ago. Other channels are responding to our comments and that feels amazing. It doesn’t feel like you want to interact with us and that’s hurtful. You often ASK for information and comments but you never respond back. It’s a mixed message and idk how to feel.

This song is about the lawsuit she won in Colorado when she visited a radio station and the DJ groped her during a photo shoot. She complained to the radio station, they investigated and the DJ was fired. He sued her for millions and she countersued for one dollar. She won, but it was a long battle and was emotionally draining.
Interesting theory, but the lawsuit was in 2017. 1989 album with this song on it was released 3 years prior to that.
