It really is! I remember when she hated singing this song in concerts. She did it as a surprise song once and the narrative around it for her morphed. This song has always been such a song of healing for us swifties.
This song is a true work of art. I never tire of hearing this, but I think it has such an impact when you watch her perform it. Her expressions are masterful.
There are very few songwriters who can write a 10 min song and kept you interested and engaged and not be repetitive. There is no auto-tune in this performance- it was not her best vocal performance actually, I have heard her do this better. But what she is authentic and I think that is part of her draw.
It's different singing to people in a small space right in front of you and in a huge stadium. She is honest enough to sing it raw, knowing people would jump on it and say "see? she's not perfect - she was a little tiny bit off key there" when that is what makes it so real.
The “movie” in the background is All Too Well The Short Film. You need to react to it. It really highlights Taylor’s talents as a director. There is a behind the scenes for the making of the film as well. The actors are Sadie Sink from Stranger Things and Dylan O’Brien from Maze Runner and Teen Wolf series.
I saw this live on Monday at Wembley at the Eras tour, on the barrier at the front of the diamond, she was so close we could almost touch her, it was the best night of my life. Hearing 92,000 people sing along with the acoustic songs gave me chills, Long Live made me cry. Was worth queueing from 5am with my 20 something daughters ❤️
She is first and foremost a poet. She takes her feelings & emotions and puts them into words, then into songs. Each one comes from her heart and her experiences. That's why they are all sung with such feeling. Because they ARE her feelings. She explained once that when she first wrote this song, she couldn't sing it in public at all because she would cry so bad every time. She thanked her fans for taking it in and turning it into something else. That it is only because of her fans making it what it is, that she was able to peeform it at all.
I used to be very indifferent to Taylor Swift's music. I knew some of her big songs like Love Story, Enchanted, etc. When Red came out I really fell in love with that album, but never knew about this song. At the end of last year, I rediscovered her music and actually listened to ALL of her songs. That's when I became a fan of her. This song perfectly shows why Taylor is as big as she is. She is more than a musician. Her lyrics are musical poetry. They are stories in musical form, modern ballads disguised as pop/country romance music. I don't care what anyone else says - if nothing else, she is at least one of the most talented songwriters in modern history.
I’m being so patient, but I’m ready for the day she puts out a rock album inspired by the music we listened to in HS in the aughts. If she puts out an album of things in the realm of Haunted, I’ll die dead. ☠️
Taylor Swift’s lyrics are profoundly amazing and the way she weaves them into her songs with her versatile voice always awes me. I’m not a swiftie, but I really admire her many talents. Plus, she is beautiful and genuinely nice. She is truly deserving of her many awards and accolades. You go, girl!

I have NEVER searched for a person who reacts to music. I searched you. You reaction to this absolutely epic music and lyrics is the best I have ever seen. You are insightful, and you understanding what passion means in a performance, Thank You John.
As others have said, the All Too Well short film is fantastic (written & directed by Taylor). There’s also a making of video that’s interesting to watch. I would LOVE her to write a full musical and direct it. There’s just nothing in this industry she can’t do.
She always amps it up for SNL. You can tell how she isn't quite over it by the way she sings the word well. As she sings it in the ERAs tour, she is stronger on the all too well phrases. Her pen 🖊 is wicked slick the more emotion she feels. The whole song is a lyrical masterpiece.
This particular performance is one of my favorites. However, she has been on SNL many times and all the performances are phenomenal. She directs most if not all of her performances. The lighting she uses in this performance as well as the short film help to tell the story. She’s amazing.
I love that she has worked on improving her vocals over the years, so that she's better now than back then. Usually, singers tend to maintain or deteriorate over time, not improve. Mostly because they don't work on it. She doesn't have her ego involved in this the way others do. "i am already famous like this, so i don't have to work harder." She always said that she's a songwriter who happens to sing, not a singer by trade. But she does her best with the voice she's got, and it's pretty damn good. Her range, power, and breath control have all improved since this performance, so check the Eras tour version of these songs you've already seen and notice the improvement. It's something i think you're uniquely placed to understand and respect as a performer in your own right.
Saw this from row 9 last year in Minneapolis, it was everything I ever wanted and more. Such a masterpiece!!! She sounds even better these days singing it too, and she sounds amazing here!!!

@JohnReavesLive, you picked up on the same line that gets me every single time. "You kept me like a secret but I kept you like an oath" hits so incredibly hard. And the rawness of this performance is just heartbreaking. You can see at the end when the audience cheers: her singers are happy and carefree, she looks emotionally drained and relieved she managed to finish. Also, I love your positive energy - subscribed immediately and will check out more of your reactions. I'm a metal native myself (big four 1980s trash metal and some more obscure stuff from that time) but completely in awe of Taylor, so I guess I've come to the right place!

I feel like universities could do classes about her lyricism. It’s not just catchy, it’s poetry; the mastery that it takes to tell the story of a whole relationship in one song, but make it feel like she’s not telling you, she’s showing you, and it’s somehow something you already know in your own soul and she’s just helping you remember... It’s genius. Pure artistic genius.

Love This!! Seen it before but it was special to have your commentary!! I Think She is one of the most talented artist..she writes all her own songs words and music and then performs them. I dont think any solo artist has put on a World Tour for over a year of sold out audiences. She is simply AMAZING!!
Glad I found your channel! You're so excited for the music and I love seeing people as excited as I was the first time I heard it. My boyfriend likes this song. He's a n00b when it comes to Swift. lol His favorites are Exile and Fortnight. He's a musician/producer and he gets so into the genius of Taylor's music. She's just so good. I've written lyrics to songs before, filled journals with poetry, I wish I had just an ounce of Taylor's talent for wordsmithing.
❤ “All to Well” is lyrical poetry that takes 10 minutes to perform, but took less than 10 minutes to write!! 💋 👍 ❤️🩹 🥂. . FYI: MOST LED ZEPPELIN SONGS ARE OVER 10 MINUTES & ALSO AMAZING!!
I’m a proud 65 yo Swiftie. I started listening to her about 2 years ago. This is the song that captured my heart. I can’t believe all that I’ve missed since she arrived on the scene. ❤
They cut out one of the best short film parts. Sadie Sink and Dylan O’Brien were given TONS of “notes” regarding the relationship. Taylor is such a great director that she allowed them to make a run through of the spoken part of the film, ad-libbed and they nailed it in one uncut scene. It’s PHENOMENALLY performed. It makes you feel like you’re eavesdropping on a bad fight about each of their opinions on how they night with his friends went. Sadie and Dylan were both perfectly casted and were the same ages as Taylor and Jake were in their relationship. It was cute during the premiere where Sadie and Dylan were in attendance, Dylan was sunken into his seat because the audience were clearly not liking Jake. He was loving the film but didn’t want people watching to realize he is DYLAN and not Jake. Hahaha. The BTS of the making of the short film shows just how involved Taylor is with her projects. Her IQ is 160, so she’s in the top 0.5% of people; which makes sense considering how talented and accomplished she is. I think she can play 8-10 different instruments? Just insanely talented and dedicated to constantly improving her craft. I give her so much respect for where she is in the industry because she made it happen for herself; despite the medias constant attacks, not having ANY privacy regarding her relationships, her masters being sold despite her verbally stating that she wanted to buy them - and to be sold to a person who was actively harassing and abusing her along with Kanye/Kim and Justin. Justin used to be her friend but he chose Scooter over Taylor. She doesn’t choose fame over any friends. After she’s in your corner, you have a friend for life. Ed Sheeran and Taylor have been friends for 15+ years now. Even though he’s currently touring and exhausted, he just showed up to Wembley Stadium for N4 in London for Taylor. They performed a phenomenal mashup of 3 songs and they looked like they were having so much fun. She said that she loves him like a 2nd brother and is still one of her best friends. She’s just a really NICE person who loves to help and support other people. When her recent shows were cancelled due to bomb threats, she took her entire staff out for the whole night and rented tons of vans to make sure everyone got there and back safely. It’s a family for her; not just work. If you still want to hang around the people that you’ve just spent the whole day working with, you’re doing something right. 🥰❤️ Vote for Taylor on MTV until the end of August. Each category she’s nominated in can get 10 votes. Vote all 10 for Taylor (she has the most nominations of any MTV nominee). 🏆🌙
You DEFINITELY need to watch the All Too Well Short Film - written and directed by Taylor Swift 👏AND the Behind the Scenes / Making of Documentary - DOUBLE REACTION! 👏👏
If I recall, she loops the "well" into the "him." She's a great singer. She doesn't use vibrato, so it's even more impressive that she's able to sustain correct pitch as well as she does. Definitely listen to Don't Blame Me and Maroon for the sexiest sad song you'll ever hear. Would've, Could've, Should've is another great one. It's a Midnights vault track, but feels more Red to me.
You should watch one of the live performances of her singing Out of the Woods from the 1989 Tour. she goes OFF at the end!!! It's my absolute favorite song she did on that tour.
This song is a MASTERPIECE. 💞 We’ve all been through this story at some point in our lives and that makes it so relatable. It’s so beautifully written. If you listen to the Red album the others songs tell more of the story. Better Man is another amazing one… I don’t think I have listened to a Taylor song that hasn’t touched me in some way, they all tell a story!! She’s a lyrical genius. 🎵

@@evacody1249 ummm…SNL history. Just as I stated
You should watch “Out Of The Woods” live and “we are never ever getting back together” live from 1989 tour! THATS when her voice really lets go!!
She’s amazing!
Thanks for appreciating her and this song!! This is how you react to this performance!
Keep shining dude✨
This just gold❤. She so good.
Shades of American Pie type of song. Memorable
Me, too but I fell in love with her with her song "15" years ago
My favorite song. Performed live you feel what she felt.
This is the first time I've watched this performance on SNL .It's actually my favorite of her 10 minute performances. ❤Stay safe
You really need to react to Don’t Blame Me live from Reputation Tour!!
And I Did Something Bad performed on the American Music Awards. One of my favorites.
in everyone's life there will that 'one' you will remember all to well .. no matter how much time has passed ...
Loved this reaction!!! 👏 👏 👏
Definitely one of my favorite reviews!!❤
Vote for Taylor on MTV until the end of August. Each category she’s nominated in can get 10 votes. Vote all 10 for Taylor (she has the most nominations of any MTV nominee). 🏆🌙
That was my fav part too
Such a GREAT performance! Tks for the video!
You DEFINITELY need to watch the All Too Well Short Film - written and directed by Taylor Swift 👏AND the Behind the Scenes / Making of Documentary - DOUBLE REACTION! 👏👏
Yeah...this is my fave song, of hers!!
Genius.
I know! omg man! This SNL Show is another of her masterpieces.
She did amazing on this performance..❤
My favorite version of this!
Great reaction ❤
Have you watched 'Cornelia Street' live in Paris? Also, ''Death by a Thousand Cuts' live in Paris?
Amazing performance, I love every second of it!
You should watch one of the live performances of her singing Out of the Woods from the 1989 Tour. she goes OFF at the end!!! It's my absolute favorite song she did on that tour.
This song is a MASTERPIECE. 💞
We’ve all been through this story at some point in our lives and that makes it so relatable. It’s so beautifully written. If you listen to the Red album the others songs tell more of the story. Better Man is another amazing one… I don’t think I have listened to a Taylor song that hasn’t touched me in some way, they all tell a story!!
She’s a lyrical genius. 🎵
New subscriber… love this song and your reaction!
I think she great🎉
The whole performance is incredible. You don’t have to be a Taylor fan to be mesmerized by this. Although I’m a huge fan ❤️
I'm used to metal songs with 10 minutes or more, but pop song? Like what? You know since the first time ever I heard this song I loved it. My first time was the 10 minute version, I mean, I can't listen to the usual version, the edited version. It really feels like there's something missing... This original version is perfect. 💙
You must react to I Bet You Think About Me... It's the reverse version of ATW.
You need to watch the Eras Tour live streams from Canada when she does them if you haven’t already caught them. It’s magical and I didn’t even get do see it in person. There are several TikTokers who will live stream as well as some on UA-cam. You will be hooked.
love this thanks
I love all the variations of "i remember it", "you remember it", "i was there", "you were there". All addressing the gaslighting that went on. No, you were there, I know you remember it, don't tell me it didnt happen!
