Wonderful, thank you
Je n'aime pas du tout sa cabalette " ah bello a me ritorna "
Une technique de chant précaire ,qui peut par moment donner de très beaux effets .Mais des sons souvent très discutables dans le registre aigu .
I had no idea that this performance existed live with Ms Scotto.
From Santiago of Chile

Please excuse a bit of clumsy production on this broadcast, cher public, because La Scotto and company are in BLAZING form!
Well she tried. The lyric coloratura aspect was still there just enough with her temperamental thrusts here and there. That said much of the role is under sung to get through. By the time she brought this to the MET it was getting awful and screamy however. Alexander still had a nice top but the middle was nasal and hectored.
When I saw her Norma at the Met--and I'm presuming you heard (or perhaps saw) one--she was awful in Act I, but sublime in the rest of the opera. It's a mistake to judge a singer in a role by one performance, but one we all make, since there's little incentive to return.
clumpsy=awkward and ungrateful
blazing= violent and frightening
clumsy = desmañado
blazing = apasionante (lleno de fuego)
