This is a very cool type of fire extinguisher. US type fire extinguishers are incredibly rare in Germany but I finally got an Amerex 2,5 gallon on eBay. I will use it for my fireplace in my garden.
@@Fredengle Technically yes. They should be inspected monthly and hydro tested every 5-10 years to assure the integrity of the pressure vessel. However in most private home scenarios people tend to never hydrotest them and for the most part they don't run into issues. I would recommend people have them hydrotested at least once every 10 ys. In the days of the old "soda acid" types we had to fully discharge them, clean them, and refill them annually. Every 2-3 years the place I worked at would also hydro test them.
Thank you, i got a water can for knocking down wasp nests. Now I don't have to play a guessing game with how much water to put inside. Mine still has the water measuring insert.
Two things: 1. What do you think about using gas tank sealer inside the can body to keep the metal from potentially corroding? I use it in my Dietz lanterns to seal the tank so the kerosene can't make them rust. 2. Have you ever seen an Amerex 240 with a red can instead of stainless steel? I'm positive I've seen one before, but I can't find them anywhere.
I can never seem to remember, is it Badger or Buckeye that's the inferior brand of extinguisher? I ask because I discovered Buckeye makes a water can with a copper washed finish to the stainless steel tank, giving it a nice vintage/retro look.

The metal won’t corrode, you shouldn’t be concerned with that. They do make red water based units but those are generally foam extinguishers
What air compressor do you use?
It’s a generic tire pump but I now use a Porter cable 150 PSI compressor
Socially distance yourself from the fire extinguisher LOL 🤣🤣
These are great to knock down wasp nests.

Buckeyes aren’t great. I don’t love them, but I guess they’re better than some
@@FireAlarmDude5967 I guess the name should explain the difference. With a product names Buckeye, you should expect something fishy.
Great information to know and learn
Thanks! And also thanks for your purchase
