14:49. Probably the coolest shot in the whole video.Freeze frame and screen capture. Sick stuff coming from both drones. I’m definitely getting an Avata 2
Love seeing your videos, even sponsored ones like this. They are so much fun to watch/entertaining and you learn stuff too. Beautiful shots... so well done. Thank you ALL for another great vid. I had to watch it twice. If this video was 6 hours long I would have watched it twice. More please! There just aren't enough videos of this quality out there with honest people having fun with drones, loving what they do. Best shot: 12:13 and 14:32
Good job Kari! I looooved the evening scene with the Vegas strip in the background, Gene riding past in the desert, the Sphere doing it's thing...so good.
Seeing Frank nail those shots with the joystick and head tracking looked surprising practical. Also, best 3 minutes of flight time sounds right up the alley.
I used both the Avata and Air2 in the same business video. The image was very different. The Avata is a 9 of 10 on fun but 3 on image. The Air2S was 8 on image and 3 on fun. I dumped the Avata. I don't sell fun. I sell images. Clearly the DJI drones need ZOOM and not need to be so close.
Thank you for sharing. Have both Avata2 and Mavic 3. You are laying out the best of the best for each and how to clip them all together for the final cut. Remain humble and congrats Kari on the production. The best shot goes to the chest mounted angle for the acrobatic in air catch. Next best was the Air 3s for the cinematic side slide shot of the motorcross. Avata2 adds the in your face chase. So glad to see you shoot with all DJI and not cams mounted to fpv whoops for once. They all have their place for sure but you stayed within my wheelhouse with this video.
The trapeze footage was wonderful. I enjoy watching trapeze and this gave a great perspective. Don't get me wrong, the bike footage was very cool. Kari did a great job! And her laughter at Frank was fun.
Your outro was filmed on the Air 3s(?) were you using DJI mics as well...cutting out the drone noise? Talk to me about that, I wanna know how involved it is to remove the drone noise from the audio track. Like is it automated or a tedious frame by frame nightmare?
I had the dji mini 3 pro and picked up the DJI Avata 2 and I haven’t used my mini three pro since I got it. The. Avata 2 I use exactly for what you’re doing chasing ATVs and dirt bikes at Woods races and get some truly cool shots. I tried it at a motocross track and followed a couple riders around and got some nice up close dodging dust and rocks flying by. Don’t get me wrong. I like the cinematic video but that in your face chasing somebodyis my favorite. Now I just need to learn how to use the real controller instead of the motion controller so I can get more speed out of it. Great video.
I want to see a challenge where you fly a GPS drone as much like an FPV as possible and the opposite. There are so many FPV enthusiasts who could get the same shots but better IQ if they'd use a Mavic 3 at its limit, and conversely I want to see if I could get real estate flythroughs and the scenic neighborhood shots with an Avata 2.
Having tried to do just that with my Air2s a couple of years ago (before ultimately just getting an fpv drone) I will say… I think Gene could make it interesting but it’s really an excessive in frustration imo. You can certainly fly fast and close to things with a gps drone, and even put the gimbal in ‘fpv mode’. There will always be little course corrections in the controls that you just can’t get rid of, it’s just not as smooth as fpv. Plus you can’t dive at all, so that’s losing a big part of the look. In the end I think it’s a horses for courses thing: both good for their own specific use cases
@lights_camera_coffee for sure when it's the right tool it's the right tool. I'm just saying that I see so much FPV footage that I could easily do with my Air2s, I just wonder how well someone could do who was really trying and had free drones from DJI. I also think we get so much diving and gaps for no reason, so it would be cool to see a better image quality drone doing slightly less dynamic shots but done well by a pro to see if it's better to give up a tiny bit of that FPV look. I'm not trying to crap on FPV, I absolutely love flying, it's my mental health medication, but the Inspire 3 with dual ops could probably do drift cars even and as much as I love the drone footage in motocross lately there's nothing FPV about it. They flew through the finish line jump and immediately got told not to do that again. I think we all get excited about our FPV gear that we sometimes overlook that it's not the only tool.
I LOVE DRONES!!!!! Got a Pavo 20, Pavo 20 Pro and Air 3 myself. Love this vid. Im still thinking about the Avata 2 just for the ease of some of the shots but i like manual mode.
My preference anyway is for FPV drones these days because you can get a better view of the subject, with a cinematic drone then you can frame it nicely so that your subject passes by for example, but actually you do fly next to it with FPV, flying behind or sometimes even in front of it!
My goodness !! This is soooooo good and funny !! The avata2 is so tie fighter !! By the way, is A3s so civil aviation? Can you push A3s to be more vigorous and nimble ??
For having fun it seems the Avata is the obvious choice. You can get some decent "normal" shots out of it too of course. It would be nice if the camera was a little more capable, seems like a bit of an intentional cripple from DJI to protect the camera drones. For me, FPV shots are useless for almost anything with a narrative, they just clash too much next to "normal" shots. I could maybe see them fitting well into a Hardcore Henry or Crank type story, but past that they seem more appropriate for commercial/extreme type stuff like you mentioned. I just got the Specta Air, which is a rebranded Air3. Only flown once so far but loving the 70mm, I think I'll be using that about 90% of the time, over the 24mm. Everyone is tired of the wide/semi-wide drone look, its just been played out. Same thing happened with shooting wide on glidecam and then on gimbals, wide is easier to shoot and get coverage with but you need to go tighter to get the really interesting stuff.
Gene, Kari, I have a motorcycle videoblog recommendation for you both to get inspiration for your trips: C90 Adventures with Ed march. As a fellow adhder I absolutely watched the hell of those vids, fun as hell !
Great production!!! I think both drone have their purpose, I don't think there can be a winner in this. I would like to have both of these drones, in fact I plan on buying the Air 3S soon. Probably, this summer I'll have enough money to get the Avata 2. Thanks for a great video!!!
You can fly the 3s in sports mode and get the same effects as FPV, you have to turn on FPV for the camera to flow like a native FPV drone, and go to control and increase your YAW speed to make 0 degree turns and all.....
really good video, I would have liked it more when you would have compared a "real" fpv drone to but really good video overall. The spots and performers where great
It would be great if there was a tech stack to organize all the video and multipoint audio from the capture to create a surround sound like dolby atmos experience based on the pov. With the new AI tools and possible time codes maybe.
Lidar is the light/laser version of radar. Radar uses radio waves and stands for RAdio Detection And Ranging. Lidar uses light/lasers and stands for LIght Detection And Ranging. Camera focus systems are turning to lidar as an exciting development. Focus in the dark? No problem. DJI using it is a no-brainer for their detection.
Great job producing, Kari!
Kari cracking up and Frank is the SHOT
15:51 - the cinematic shots with Vegas in the background are dope!
14:49. Probably the coolest shot in the whole video.Freeze frame and screen capture. Sick stuff coming from both drones. I’m definitely getting an Avata 2
I am always happy when I see a new Potato Jet Upload. No matter what it is.

Was so much fun hanging with you guys again! Can’t wait to plan our next shoot together!
Good job Kari! I looooved the evening scene with the Vegas strip in the background, Gene riding past in the desert, the Sphere doing it's thing...so good.
great job kari! oh and by the way, best shot is indeed from you: 12:29
i lost it in that moment 😂
Well done you guys, a real power couple with Kari producing and Gene doing... his thing. Love seeing what you guys can do
8:39 That looks, CINEMAAAAAAAAATIC.
Great ep. Kari
Fabulous Kari. Great producing.
that orbit shot at 14:46 was easily my favourite!
Amazing work kari, You to are the best duo ♾
Seeing Frank nail those shots with the joystick and head tracking looked surprising practical. Also, best 3 minutes of flight time sounds right up the alley.

Love the video Carrie a great job producing it and love that y’all are getting into dirt bikes, regular bikes, E bikes
The trapeze footage was wonderful. I enjoy watching trapeze and this gave a great perspective.
Don't get me wrong, the bike footage was very cool.
Kari did a great job! And her laughter at Frank was fun.
Thanks Gene, Kari and the rest of the guys for another great video 😁
dude those evening dessert shots are wild! what colors!❤
Great video! Potato jet videos i always watch till the end. Thank you.
I'm a simple man. I see a Potato Jet video, I click play. Never disappointed.
So was all of the Avata 2 footage shot at 4K 100fps? Doesn't look as jumpy when playing back on a 24fps video at regular speed.
17:20 What (spot)light set-up was that on the drone?
It’s the landing light on the bottom of the newer Mavics. It impressively lights up the area.
@GregKPerry Oh cool! Thanks!
I have absolutely no need for the Air 3S but I wants it. I wants it bad.
Well done Carrie.
First one!! Never pressed so fast on a video! Keep the good work up❤!!
Your outro was filmed on the Air 3s(?) were you using DJI mics as well...cutting out the drone noise? Talk to me about that, I wanna know how involved it is to remove the drone noise from the audio track. Like is it automated or a tedious frame by frame nightmare?
8:35 for sure
I'm so glad you are back!
PS Having both types of drones
Sooooo cool to see Kari doing production! 🎉
What a fun shoot and amazing to get some incredible trapeze footage from true Pros!
Kari's laugh 😂😂and Avata for the win!
Dude! Thank you for including all the Moto content!
Nice work Kari, great video! What was that portable drone light at 17:23 ?
Oh, you’re back let’s go🎉
Both have their place! Getting into FPV in March, though, I absolutely love an FPV challenge in my workflow!
Watched the whole episode for the conclusion I commented at the start, 17:12 is the best shot with you guys in the left
loved the power loop coming down on the bike.

Other than Frank’s drunken master stance . 14:40 has to be my favourite . Feels like watching a scene out of your favourite movie .
AMAZING JOB KARI!!
Great episode Kari!!!

Kari has learned so much! Love her laugh! 😊
It's good to see even the pros loop their bikes.
what chest mount is that for the gopro? magnets!!!
Where’s the link for that chest mount?
DJI Air 3S vs Avata 2, I need both of them. Great video, thanks for sharing.
I LOVE DRONES!!!!! Got a Pavo 20, Pavo 20 Pro and Air 3 myself. Love this vid. Im still thinking about the Avata 2 just for the ease of some of the shots but i like manual mode.
Avata 2 wins for sure, but just like what you said, you cant produce a whole film with it. Plus, the learning curve. Love from Philippines!
My preference anyway is for FPV drones these days because you can get a better view of the subject, with a cinematic drone then you can frame it nicely so that your subject passes by for example, but actually you do fly next to it with FPV, flying behind or sometimes even in front of it!
1:05 washout
See the big drone in the background @17:26 ??? Looks like one of the ones that have been invading New Jersey!
Pffft!
Very nice video, and good job to Kari. Thanks for sharing all your adventures
This episode was great!
When did timecodes disappear?
I thought this was standard on all or most things.
Wait did you catch the air 3s at 10:18?
Kari definitely got the best shot!
Please make a 3rd channel about mountain biking but still include some action camera stuff
What about putting the Air into sport or APV mode. I have a Air2 makes it a little bit of both being able to change into those modes.
My goodness !! This is soooooo good and funny !! The avata2 is so tie fighter !! By the way, is A3s so civil aviation? Can you push A3s to be more vigorous and nimble ??
man i love these videos, makes me want to learn to ride dirtbikes
do it!
FPV and dirtbikes, what morre could you want? Money shot is the T7 and Vegas in the back.
Well done Kari 👏🎬

Awesome job Kari!
Super fun video :) I'm of the camp that consider the VS part very dependant on the shot I want. I carry both (although I'm still sending a MA2, lol)
this was an awesome watch!!!!!!
Just awesome!
Gene, Kari, I have a motorcycle videoblog recommendation for you both to get inspiration for your trips: C90 Adventures with Ed march. As a fellow adhder I absolutely watched the hell of those vids, fun as hell !
Great Video ! You are a lucky man count your blessings you have a great wife who supports all your hobbies and activities! Happy Holidays!
Great video!! No idea someone else was producing :o
Great production!!! I think both drone have their purpose, I don't think there can be a winner in this. I would like to have both of these drones, in fact I plan on buying the Air 3S soon. Probably, this summer I'll have enough money to get the Avata 2. Thanks for a great video!!!

Love the Videos
Fun video! I still miss seeing Sam & Dillon! 😢
I loved this video, it was really funny at times :)
Two videos, one week. Life is good.
Well done Kari ❤
I can’t keep spending all of my money lol but tht air 3s tho
Jeeeesus you saved my today's yt session lol
really good video, I would have liked it more when you would have compared a "real" fpv drone to but really good video overall. The spots and performers where great

LOVE the idea of drones to have Timecode.
I have both lol they mix together soooooo well this video is a statement to that
Kari FTW!
love your videos ❤
We shoot this footage all the time….avata for close chase ….inspire for wide shots and a lot of tracking. Mostly for MAV TV
Sorry…the dirt bike shots

Potato Jet is back 👐
12:33 💀 this position lmfao.
