Often called 'the world's greatest drummer" by music critics, music lovers, fans, other drummers and, sometimes, even himself, Buddy Rich is universally recognized as a brilliant drummer with more than enough talent to back up the boast. Buddy could be provocative and opinionated but he was always authentic- consistently selling out tours, recording with leading musicians, appearing on popular TV shows and winning readers polls around the world. In 1980, Buddy was the first drummer of the modern era to be named to Modern Drummer's Hall Of Fame. No other drummer came close to Buddy's fame, accomplishments and drumming skills... and it's unlikely any ever will.

Buddy's band was something else!
I’m sure this is a Mandela Effect, but a good one. I could imagine if this show had run for five seasons, what an historical record it might have been. Most of the artists shown are no longer with us. This is a great find.
The sound quality of the drums is amazing . This is where you really could here what buddy does over all the earlier poor recordings. So much unreal drumming lost or missed because of that
This blows my brains!
Thank you🎧🥁🥁🥁🎧
Extraordinary DVD (can be purchased as streaming video on The Drum Channel website)-ANYONE serious about drums, music, or Buddy Rich absolutely should own this fantastic video-watching teasers and trailers is fun if you’re an amateur but seriously: buy this DVD-you’ll treasure it for the rest of your life. I don’t work for DC-I mean this from my heart.

The 🐐
Very cool, Thank You for sharing this gem..
Thank you for this!!! What a treat to see... And to see Buddy play behind his old friends like Lionel Hampton!
cool stuff indeed
LEGENDARY!!°
Superb. Millennials antidote
THE MASTER!
I have no words👍
Omg!
In one of these clips he has another drummer playing for him while he conducts....imagine being that guy? Imagine having to walk up there and play Buddy's drums while Buddy conducts?? The good news you are playing in top band, the bad news is that you are drummer following Buddy Rich...
Mad appreciate this upload, superb quality & extremely IMPORTANT for bands to see and comprehend that jazz & swing music is not background noise.
Deepest Respect, Drum Channel
_/ . .
The truth is Buddy still has the best hands still to this day April 4 2020....Every Famous drummer knows this and usually acknowledges it .
The great drummers or at least people with an ear and true understanding of drums and technique do understand. Anyone who doesn't is simply mediocre and that is total total fact
❤
ONE.....OF.......A.......KIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cool. Where can we find these newly rediscovered gems ?
Here is the link to the full show DVD: bit.ly/2QIuyq2

Having Buddy Drumming with all the Other Legends will be Worth the Price ofAdmission
This is Going to be AMAZING 😉
Who is the drummer filling in for Buddy when Mel Torme is singing ?
Donny Osborne, Mel's longtime drummer.
This has to be bought by PBS or other networks.... wow
It might you tell me which is the song name? Please 5:57
7:18 what is this song, or what does it sound like?
It's an arrangement of the standard "Greensleeves", but we're not sure who arranged it!
DrumChannel.com pretty sure it was Oliver Nelson’s arrangement
It'd be interesting to know what Network turned this down, and what if anything was aired in it's place.
If anyone has the link to a video on youtube I can no longer find, may be the best of him doing West Side Story, wearing a white suit, (in color& good quality) being filmed from his right side with full band. Coolest part of this solo I haven't seen in the videos currently on youtube, was buddy looking at his right cymbal and attacking it with a single strike.
Buddy Rich remains the baddest muthah fuckah to ever play drums. PERIOD.
