  • A traditional Orcadian folk song sung by Maz O'Connor from her album, This Willowed light. I have added a backing video featuring some of the grey seals we filmed on various dives including the German wrecks of Scapa Flow, The wreck of the Tapti off Coll and of course the Farne Isles. The footage was shot by Hinotony & myself.
A Selkie or Silkie or Sylkie or Selchie or Kelpie is a supernatural seal who remove their pelts to transform into a man or woman while on land. Sule skerry is a rocky outcrop in the Atlantic 25 miles to the west of Orkney.

Glad you enjoyed it. I am always amazed by how friendly seals are even when they have had little contact with humans

iciclediver sounds like a good way of doing it, I'm just starting to get into the underwater videography and the video editing 😬

OK here goes------If you have the Battery capacity & enough storage keep the camera recording throughout the dive so if something turns up ie dolphins, sharks, seals ect the camera is ready. I have lost tons of footage because the camera takes so long to turn on & then focus. Keep the camera still almost like taking a photo, make each shot at least 10 seconds then edit out the best bit. Learn to control your Buoyancy with your breathing so you don't need to take your hands off the camera. Edit the footage to tell a story.
