You can find runners around Lima golf in San Isidro, Near to the happines park in San Borja, en el Malecon de Costa Verde, and Sundays in Arequipa avenue.
We were there for 10 days, 3 of us. My friends were determined to see Machu Pichu so they spent 3 days on that. Such a hassle getting there from Lima and back. They looked like zombies when they returned lol. The wife was so exhausted when they got to Machu she just sat on a stone wall and waited for her husband to come back. I was on my own for 3 days and walked all over Miraflores and loved it. Every day went to Kennedy Park to visit my friends the cats. Food in Lima is fantastic. We even went to Astrid y Gaston for dinner one night (top 50 restaurant in the world). Too pricy for me. I want to go back to Lima. Keep up the videos. I just watched the one on Auschwitz (sp?). Glad I saw it. I did visit Dachau in 1995 since we accidentally bumped into it while driving, we were lost and there it was so we went in. It was winter and we were almost the only people there. Scary places. Steve Bayer Philly
oww that sounds like it hurt a fair but! It's a long slog to Machu Pichu!! But it seems like the more money you spend, the easier it is to get there. You can pretty much get a train from Cusco all the way there now if you wanted to! But 3 days is still a bit rough! haha! We were in Cusco for around 3 weeks, it's a great city! It's as nice as Miraflores or Barranco, perhaps nicer, but without the high price tag (and lack of ocean, but you do have the mountains). I definitely recommend visiting next time around! Huaraz is really nice too, it's not too far from Lima... Ica has some interesting scenery too! Thanks for watching the videos! :) Was it similar to Dachau? I was curious because a friend told me that the wwii museums in Germany are a little softer than those in Poland or Hungary for example, but I haven't visited any.
Yes, Dachau was way way less scary than Auschwitz, virtually all the barracks were torn down so it was a vast field of gravel. This was 30 years, when we went it was deserted. Still educational without the horror. I'm trying to get my friends to go with me back to Lima. We'll see.
Lima Central you say? Depends on your aura haha! If you are small, shy, you look lost or you're female or its late in the day, then I don't recommend it, no.
@@cipher7548 Yes I think you would be fine! Especially in Miraflores for example. Even with the camera out. Lima Central is usually fine in the daytime too. At night is where things tend to change rapidly. I would still be careful in Lima Central though, the police do little to punish theft, so a lot of people do it. If you're aware of your surroundings at all times, I think you will be ok. I'm sure you already know, but, always look people in the eye with confidence if your spider senses are tingling and also try not to look lost. I hope you have a good trip!
Damn it ! They're going destroying those beautiful chalette-style & English/Tudor houses just to build boring buildings :/ It was nice walking or riding bike by that avenue stareing the Belle Epoque architecture, now they're demolishing everything :( BTW, You run by Lince District, the famous point of Punk in Latinoamerica... Lince was called "The Little Liverpool" because it was a nest of garage and rock amateur bands in 60s, the band LOS SAICOS is considered a Proto-Punk band, considered ahead of time even before Punk was born in the mid of 70s and is famous worldwide, nowadays. Runners by least in Lima city, usually run on weekdays, specially before or at the end of the workday, I mean very early at 5 or 6am even 4:30am, Or at 6 or 7pm for avoinding the chaotic vehicular traffic of Lima, not only in Barranco District, for example in the suburbs of the North of Lima, near the Airport it usually see runners from Callao or suburbs surround.
My friend Diego took me to the birthplace of punk on my first day here, but it was so long ago, I forgot where it was. That's good to hear it was in old Lince! ahh that's interesting to know. I see a lot of runners in Barranco, San Borja etc for casual running, but I don't see it as a method of commuting, which I thought was interesting. but I never see runners on this road in the week at anytime of the time, which is weird because it connects Miraflores to Lima Central.
Lima city is repeating the same mistakes from the past without a planning process for a future, but now they are doing big buildings, but tearing down the old vintages houses in all different Districts and the million questions is, where are the responsible Authorities for this situation? Big buildings should be in specific areas but not anywhere, and mistakes continue without looking for the future with more than ten million populations like Lima itself.

Europeans, unlike Americans, have a better vision and respect for South American countries, they better understand their idiosyncrasies and customs. Is it because they don't think they are superior?
haha! 😆 Perhaps! I think it's more to do with understanding what culture actually is. I have lived on both continents for a long time, so I have a good understanding of why that is. For the most part, America is a giant bubble where it's not uncommon to believe they have everything and they are the best. This is coupled with the fact that international geography is seldom taught in schools. So when some leave their country, most of them are disappointed about many things, but usually food options (lack of bacon, big cups for big drinks and whatnot)... However, most don't leave at all. I dunno, I could write a book on it, but its just a general observation ive made over the years. Of course, exceptions always apply
Lima is an immense city, and the protests did not mobilize the majority of Peruvians, as the media would have us believe. It was a group of professional agitators who managed to convince people who typically stay out of political matters. However, the majority of Peruvians already know that communists are the worst for our country.
