One of the saddest extinctions to me is the flightless bird, the Great Auk, in the mid-19th century. The last two living Great Auks, a male and a female, were on an island off the coast of Iceland. The female had just laid an egg when sailors came onto the island. They smashed the egg with their boots and caught and strangled the two birds to sell the skins to a collector. I’m gonna visit these pages tho
What’s the background music called?
I learned about the first incident (Disneyland: America Sings Incident) before Wikipedia even existed, so..., I guess the reason for being a "Terrifying Wikipedia Page That You Should Never Click On" is "You probably already know about this so don't bother Wikipedia-ing it because it would be a waste of your time." (?) 🤔😏😁
Ya know what? This amendment edit is only to point out the obvious, I suppose, but here it is anyway: Not a single one of these entries has any real reference to any Wikipedia page, terrifying or not, and whether you should avoid or not is irrelevant. The details of the individual stories are, in general, interesting, but I suppose "The Infographics Show" isn't the first channel to bullsh*t a video title for whatever reason.
Aw RIP Tasmanian tigers! I apologize for humans causing your extinction 🥺
Wait a sec. The 2 northern white rhinos… 2 females still means you have source of eggs and the male death is still recent enough, that even dried blood in his marrow could be still viable. How are we not attempting to clone him right now to prevent this extinction?
It was a non usable source for my English assignments in college due to the fact anyone can edit the entries. So that begs the question of how many times each has been modified
