Why is Bloc Quebec the only party not in favor of this motion? Because they will be able to check, research and monitor systemic racism within the RCMP. If such a motion is passed, it will open door to one day research and monitor Quebec's systemic racism. It's my opinion that he's gotta be the most honest of all of them. They kicked him out for speaking some truth. Through this whole pandemic he's been the one to actually ask for actions that would legitimately help Canadians while the liberals tried to seek extra powers, the conservatives demanded to impose penalties and stop spending, and the others just kinda stood there listening to the banter between the 3 vocal parties.
I said he's gotta be the MOST honest out of ALL of them. He is a politician now, so I'm not saying he is 100% honest. At least He seems to be there for Canadians while the others look like they are there for themselves.

At 2:48 Mr Singh presents an argument that is responding to tone. At 14:04 Mr Singh suggests arguments responding to tone are used on the other side of the issue. Indeed, his removal from the House of Commons was due to use of ad hominem that, if left unchecked, would degrade debate to the point of futility. These are rhetorically weak communication patterns that don't address the core issues at hand.

Each rep had their degree of passion, tolerance re: issues. It's the hashing out of what they SEE, BELIEVE. Life experience weighs in, we see deep anguish in Singh s response..has seen damages to lives up close. He doesn't forget the faces, losses. Singh is taking politics way too emotionally, will he be acting up like this each time he hears "No". Moreover, the way he acted in the house of commons is also unprecedented. I am saying this as visible minority...he needs to stop hiding behind the "'racist" card. There have been several bills and motions which have been rejected, other MPs have the right to dismiss ideas, just as Singh has the right to bring them up. There are ways that politicians govern themselves and act within the house of commons. With the way he acted he seemed like a high-schooler, who disagreed with the debate of his class mate....

As an Asian, I complete agree with his anger. Canada needs to change. We need to realize that systemic racism is an issue in Canada as well, and that we aren't better than our neighbours to the south (and west, I see you, Alaskans). But...
He deserved what he got for being very unprofessional in a parliamentary setting. Given parliamentary immunity (which does indeed apply here), I wouldn't call his remarks defamatory, but it is unacceptable to call someone a racist based on how they voted on a motion. It is very understandable that he made that remark, but he should have apologized when asked. For the benefit of the doubt, I do not assume malice on his part, but if a federal party leader is unable to control his temper after 6 years of service in a provincial legislature, almost 3 years as a federal party leader and 1 year as an MP in the House, then I am not sure I could support his character.

Jagmeet Singh is taking things too far and I do not think that he has the support from the Canadian public that he thinks he has. A few incidents with officers does not represent an entire organization having systemic racism. I appreciate efforts to improve accountability and implementing things like body cams to add additional evidence to situations that arise. The RCMP as a whole has had a long tradition of striving for high standards of law enforcement. Canada expanded westward in a much more peaceful manner compared to the western expansion of the United States. That was mostly due to the relatively peaceful conduct of the RCMP. As someone raised in Canada, Jagmeet Singh should respect Canadian history more.
He knows what he's talking about because you haven't gone through what racialized Canadians has experienced. Walk - in his shoes and you will know how does it feel.

Parliament’s first order of business should be concentrating on Canada’s staggering economy. All other matters need to be put on the back burner.
