Well at 61 years old knee sleeves! I have good knees but having them nice and warm really helps. I ended up getting them when reading Dr. Sully and his recommendation. Glad I listened.
Thanks for a great video? I wouldn’t say that “pick a size down” is a general rule. For example, Adidas provides a measurement chart and the recommends to go a size UP in case of Powerlifts and Adipowers. Once you pick a brand and a model it’a a good idea to read comments on the manufacturera website and/or some forums on the web to get a better idea of the pros and cons, as well as sizing advice. BTW I am using Powerlifts 3.1 and they’re really nice :)
I have a pair of Adipowers, as a coach, it was the first purchase I made out of college with my tax returns :). I ordered them over the phone (back in 2012) and the people over at Adidas were so nice. My first question was the fitting, the lady told me and honestly I wear 11 in Reebok/Adidas and held true to the Adipower. I got them based on internships and being exposed to lifting shoes, then did my research because you can buy really cheap ones which will last but sometimes paying for something a little nicer is always helpful. The best part of it is yeah it could be upwards of $200, but they last for years, so I just used that rationale that it will essentially cost $10-$20 a year for a period of 5-10 years.
I bought a couple of lifting shoes almost a year back. I don’t always use them since I kind of think that at the moment necessarily “don’t need them”. Since I in my own mind want to reach around 286 lbs before I start to use them more regularly. But! since I saw this video I wasn’t way of when I bought them hehe
Y’all have a great playlist called “Never Lifted Weights Before?” Can you review it and re-order the videos? I’m sharing it with a lot of people but some fundamental videos are buried in the playlist.
If your low bar or wide squatting you don't want the raised heel. What they recommend is more for high bar closer stance squatters that have more knee travel. Experiment first with a 10lb plate under heels to see if you might want them.
@@hershdawgmusic Yes I have, but more importantly, do you understand my answer context as related to the poster? It doesn't appear so. Some low and wide squatters because of leverage differences may still prefer a heel.
Hi guys, What is your opininon on Reebok RCF aka Mark Bell´s Power shoes? I have been using them for squatting and deadlifting and I love them. PS: I have a long torso so my back angle in the squat is already very vertical.
Call me crazy, but I lift in an old pair of boxing shoes. There is no compression because the sole is very thin. I would love to get a pair of nice lifting shoes, but I barely have enough money for a gym membership.
bringing up that barefoot question again. There are many issues with today's running/tennis/whatever shoes, mainly that due to the (artificial) support of the foot arch the foot muscles are weakened and that due to walking/running over your heels the joint stress in knees, hips, lower back is increased and leads to problems in the long run (haha). Now, your perspective is a different angle, for squats a firm stance is required, so the heavy buffering of the heel in modern sports shoes is considered bad as it increases instability. Lifting with bare foot (or barefoot shoes) would address that, too. Now, in lifter shoes the heel is substantially raised compared to barefoot, the question is, can that be compensated with a different posture? Are there any other drawbacks of barefoot compared to lifting shoes? Greets from Germany
pfote65 the lifting show will provide a casing around your foot and prevent wiggle and instability. It will also increase the surface area of contact between you and the ground
Wear shoes in the gym. We’ve already addressed the stability issues. Don’t go barefoot around weight plates. Don’t walk around barefoot in a weight room. It’s un-hygienic.

John The Mighty I have been using them for a while now and they are really nice lifting shoes

Currently using Powerlift 3's, but I'm in the hunt for new old stock Power Perfect 2's. I keep finding it in every size except mine (8.5)
Getting lifting shoes were a game changer. Currently using Nike Romaleus 2 .
I love my Adidas Adipowers, Inzer forever belt and Stoic knee sleeves!
Wrist wraps. After several cut tendons and nerves they really help
Great video. Thanks a lot for the advice guys.
Thank YOU.
Chuck Taylor’s should do the job if you’re short on cash (make it your everyday shoe too) or you’re just starting out
I’ve got a pair of Nordic lifting shoes they seem pretty good to me.

How about a brand or a few different brands of belts you like? Or a belt video? Thanks!!
Hi Derek! We just released our belt video today: ua-cam.com/video/pbUIAgRAb3M/v-deo.html
Any good choices for the high arch foot?
I have a real hard time getting shoes even in stores with alot to try on?
Thanks for the direct info
Thanks for watching!
Why does Rip say only ppl with long femurs need flat sole shoes?

OF course - what are some of the videos you'd like earlier in the list (can change it)
What if I don't have a coach?
You have to coach yourself
Mmmm that power perfect velcro rip, gets me every time
I hear a lot of heavy powerlifters recommending flat soles, particularly Chuck Taylors or deadlift shoes.
Clearly, we disagree.

Please sir, what is your recommendation on the rogue leather wrist wrap?
Weightlifting shoes are unavailable in India. If i buy through import they will cost half of my salary.
Are formal shoes good for lifting?
Life Stalker buy RXN weightlifting shoes. 2500 rs

Damn these guys im positive they dont squat
Squatting in my metcons for now. I have no flexibility issues.
K-plus tunjevina squat shoes aren’t for “flexibility issues.”
But should you deadlift with those heels?
TayLybb yes. Train in shoes. Compete in slippers.
I fall forward if I deadlift in squat shoes. I deadlift in socks.
If you actually fall forward, that's not the shoes fault...
Barbell Logic I’ve always been told lifters are a no-no for deadlifts, but rather use flat shoes. No?
If there's a huge weight hanging off your front, something pushing up on your heels doesn't help balance.
I barefoot
