I've seen in film festival and yes some scenes will definitely touch your heart. It's a beautiful story! You'll feel everything.. Happy, sad, confused, etc. The ending is heartwarming tbh.
The film “Close” is also a great example of this type of relationship and deals with it quite well. There are many moments for tears and tragedy as well.

Both film is reality, some relationship like that is either end up good or bad based from the social environment, stigma and support from your close ones. Both Close and Young Heart is completing each other. Like 2 different side of coins.
Their english is so cutee huhu and the movie is one of the best movie I've ever seen!! Their acting was so realistic and natural i almost cried at the scene where elias came out to his mom!! I'm looking forward for their acting career.
I saw it couple days ago and still can't stop thinking about it. The whole movie is just so relatable. I used to have all kinds of fantasies of falling in love with a young boy my age when I was like 14 and it's now kind of reignited by the movie. It's really sweet yet a bit unreal to me that everyone in the movie shows them love & support, cuz I never had the guts/didn't even think of coming out as an option when I was a teenager. And this really makes me regret not coming out as early as I can to at least have the chance to get a romantic relationship like that. So yeah, I'll say I enjoyed it more than Close and Monster(both good movies) cuz the whole movie is just like my teenage dream come true. Can't stop smiling throughout the movie, both actors are so great and adorable.
I relate with what u said! But this movie was set in modern times and being queer is not as bad as it was before and especially in Belgium where LGBTQ is very much accepted.
I have watched this movie. I cried a lot, it's not just about first love but more on "family uncondiotional love" . I cried so much when he had his moments with his grandpa and mom. ❤
This is a very nice interview. The host was so respectful in letting the boys answer the questions without interrupting them. They seem like the kind of boys you would like for neighbors. They fet comfortable and relaxed.
This is true and they are very natural. Casting for parts is an underrated talent and I have learned that characters who make a strong impression in a film are cast according to type. When I saw an interview with the two protagonists in _Call Me by Your Name_ I was disappointed by the way interviewers asked them if they were really gay. Can you imagine asking an actor if they are really hetero? It was disgraceful but worse was that those actors were adamant that they were _not_ gay. Another actor who was asked the same question refused to answer. Yet, the two boys in this interview volunteered the information that Marius De Saeger does identify as gay and Lou Goossens is really ambivalent about his sexuality, similar to the movie and they were very open about this in a charming way. So they are in real life like the characters and "almost best friends". Aww!.
If only......If only there were movies like this when I was 14 years old...... I look forward to seeing just how 'normal' I was when I get to see this movie....
I would recommend this film to anyone, and think Lou Goossens gave an incredible, naturalistic and nuanced performance that is Oscar worthy. The car scene where he comes out to his mother and brother is one of the most genuinely emotionally moving scenes I've ever seen in a movie. Goossen's performance showing such a complex range of emotions showing the exultation and heartbreak of first love is incredible for someone so young, and this is also a remarkable effort for first time writer/director Anthony Schatteman. Marius de Saegar was excellent as well. I look forward to seeing their next work.
Right? It felt so so real. The way he took little breaths as if he was going to say it but then those breaths were immediately snuffed out by his nervousness, it was incredibly accurate. Amazing
This movie is beautiful. It shows what many of us as young people had to go through and really struggle finding ourselves. It is the most representative depiction I have seen. Truly captivating, well made and such talent of these 2 actors. Amazing ❤
All of the "I wish I had a movie like this when I was 14" comments make me feel so grateful for all of these queer shows and movies like heartstopper, young royals and young hearts because I've at this point grown up with them in a special way and my teenage years have so far been so much brighter because of them
Yes, I watched the film today. For me it is three decades late, but I am happy for any kid today who can find guidance and hope in this movie today. I hope many 14-year-olds have the chance to watch this beautiful film.

I've watched this movie for 3 times (for now) and I cried in all of the 3 times that I've watched, I'm not kidding. This movie is a masterpiece and Lou and Marius was the best part of it.
Could not agree more! 4th times in a row now and the movie never failed to make my eyes bawled especially the scene where Elias finally mustered up thr courage to tell his mom about his identity and who he truly loves. That scene has pierced through my heart and his acting alone-chef’s kiss! Oscar worthy!

Belgium cinema is exceptionally good at producing these kind of films. This film follows on from a similar film `Close` North Sea Texas is also another extremely good film. Both boys in this latest film are very photogenic.
North Sea Texas was excellent. I'm from California, halfway around the world, and a different generation but I found it very realistic. The kid actors came off as Real Kids not Actors.

Although the movie has it's shortcoming, mainly the lack of screen time for Alex (Marius), where director could actually cut some of the not too important scene and better portrayed Alex emotion about his feeling. Nevertheless, the movie is almost perfect. Lou Goossens has one of the most beautiful blue eyes I ever see. And he has good job in portrayed his feeling and emotion in the movie. I still give it 10 out of 10 recommended to watch.
This is entirely how I feel! XD Alexandre seems to have such a backstory and I would've loved to see how he was dealing with all the turmoil, especially after his fight with Elias. The fact that everyone just accepted Elias once he came back (while super sweet and heartwarming), felt like the ending was just a tad bit rushed because we didn't really see Elias apologize and work to get the others' trust back. But I agree the film is visually stunning and so sweet I love it! :)
@anthonyortiz2128 to be honest, many of the singing scene can be cut out. Also the part in the farm in the beginning with grandpa could be shortened. Give enough time for Alex's story and be more fulfilling. ending

Sounds like the excellent 2022 film 'CLOSE', but with a different outcome. It should be noted that Lucas Dhont is also involved with this film as one of the producers which helps to convince me that I should watch this film as the Oscar nominated 'CLOSE' was so brilliantly done by all involved, particularly by the two main starring actors, Eden Dambrine and Gustav De Waele.

No es algo que ni en el 20% ocurriría en la vida real, recibir tanto apoyo incluso de la ex. Pero que se vea tan genuino y auténtico, tan natural y cálido te hace pensar en lo bonito que pudo ser si todos de chicos hubiéramos dado el mismo paso. Debo decir que la película en su tipo es un 10/10 excelente actores principales, excelente fotografia y buena dirección e interpretación

I don’t think this movie will be in theaters here in the US… Maybe in lgbt cinema festivals or something like that, I watched it on telegram, in Europe it looks like this movie will get more attention.
I haven't seen this yet, but it seems like it could literally be the first film in history that accurately captures same-sex adolescent affection/love/lust between two males. We have literally told every other possible permutation of the human experience on film except for this one.

There's something else I don't understand. I saw a video on UA-cam, "behind the scenes" of the Spiderman movie, where Tom Holland kisses a girl, but he didn't actually kiss her. It was "edited" by computers using "green screen movie making".
So if even adult boys don't really kiss, are they letting little boys like this kiss? Even if it's just for a fake shoot. Do their parents let them do that? I believe that true love has no age... but always i don't understand, Do their parents let them kiss like that, Even if it's just for a fake shoot.?

I don’t think this movie will be in theaters here in the US… Maybe in lgbt cinema festivals or something like that, I watched it on telegram, in Europe it looks like this movie will get more attention.

I haven't seen this yet, but it seems like it could literally be the first film in history that accurately captures same-sex adolescent affection/love/lust between two males. We have literally told every other possible permutation of the human experience on film except for this one.
