You can't be taxing people who don't have jobs or those who are struggling to survive. In developed nations, government in recession help individuals and businesses to survive, why can't we do same? I think that's Ndume's point which I support 100%
@@kele2nv4u another person that hasn't read the bill. "Anyone earning less than 800k per year will not be affected by the bill" food is not taxed.

Nigeria government, should take what the senate president just say very serious, about the tax they are collecting from the drivers on the road. If you have in Edo, you can't use it in delta, you use it any others place in Nigeria. Government suppose to look into to that. Many agberu coming out to forstraite the driver on road. The one you get in worry can't use it cross River. The government should make it that anyone you buy in your state suppose to pass all the state of Nigerians.
That's our point
Do not take our VAT and give to lagos alone
You have to rule Nigeria like Good luck Jonathan
Great analysis, thank you! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
More consultation. more consultation. How much consultation is enough?
If a worker lives in Lagos and works offshore in Bayeslsa, his PAYE tax should go to lagos where he lives while the company income tax should go to Bayeslsa.
If a worker lives in Ogun and works in Lagos her PAYE tax should go to Ogun and the company tax should go to Lagos
If that worker buys phone in Lagos and recharge card in Ogun, sales tax on the phone should go to Lagos while the recharge card sales tax should go to Lagos.
Let him come to balyasa and leave.
He works in Bayelsa and should pay tax to Bayelsa
you cant live in lagos and work offshore in bayelsa..and then collect bayelsa salary to go pay lagos tax..make that make sense..its your problem if you want to live in lagos but you must pay your taxes to bayelsa who pays your salary..na lagos dey pay you when you wan take bayelsa money to pay eko tax.. you are paying so may indirect Taxes already by living in lagos. taxes from rent, through transportation to others,
just by living in lagos..where in the world
does your theory operate? am in. holland.. 24 yrs going to 25 years now. London na 45 mins boat ride .. not even Germany and all other western European countries that ard in our left, right and Middle.. so where in the modern world is this your theory applicable?
@@kestee3240 What I said is what applies all over the world including Holland. I can't vote or contest in Bayeslsa because I live in Lagos so Bayeslsa shouldn't tax me.
Bayeslsa doesn't provide services for me like roads, hospital, schools etc. Infact, oil workers work offshore where Bayeslsa government provides no infrastructure.
You can't tax people without giving them right to vote for their representatives in government or providing them with government services.
Bayeslsa should make their state safe and attractive for workers to live. In the meantime, Bayeslsa is entitled to taxes from all businesses in Bayeslsa, taxes on everything bought in Bayeslsa and the taxes from the residents of Bayeslsa
@obiflex are lagos companies paying taxes to bayelsa govt.? you talk like the offshore is a no mans land.. i live in the Hague but work near schiphol, Amsterdam, just by the airport. my taxes goes to the amsterdam state and has nothing to do with my state.. i pay other taxes in my state..dust bin/Street tax , house bill(light, water, internet) which comes with taxes..830euro for my flat and govt takes about 140euro as tax every month.. same thing nigerians are about to start paying ..... i buy cigarrete(malboro),for 12euro 50cent. the govt. takes 4eurotax. holland is heavily taxed .top3 in taxes..and i pay other indirect taxes.. but my monthly taxes goes to the State of Amsterdam, which in turn goes to the central.
its as simple as abc
So Tinubu isn't trying to favor Lagos? Northerners needs to be school
Tinubu’s tax reform bills not anti-North - Dogara
He said: ”I want to talk to my brothers in the North; I don’t think this is the time for us to condemn the president and on account that these bills are anti-north.” “I want to remind us that the president has done something that is significant and if he can pursue this to the end, then there is no Northern leader of my lifetime that has done what the president has done.
The tax policy is a good one. It is what Nigeria need but, my biggest fear is that, will the government of the day spend the taxes collected very well.
Udume has a point, you make amendments before you approve. Not the other way round.
Not true, amendment can be made at any point. "Amendment"
I don't blame anybody except our northern leaders if they utilise the opportunity they got before nobody will rise his voice against us but since they use our common wealth just for themselves and their family fine and good but let everyone knows that no condition is permanent and any leader starting from president down to councillor will know the value of North and our vote come 2027
Mr president your jeep is registered and no body will disturb since is having emblem
If that's the case, Nigeria is no longer one nation. In addition to that states that are producing oil should hold alone the money when oil is sold period.
The tax reform bill is a bill that every nationalist should support for the benefit of our nation to enhance regional and national growth
that's what he brought in from the France, l think the only way things it will work in Nigeria is to make every stat stand on his own, even that's what western does and they do don't want Africa to do that, come on let every stat stand on their own
Can't you use your brain like other people?
Engage intellectually!
This will help to go back to agriculture and other neglected resources in the economy.
Why not allow states collect and henceforth make contributions to the central.
When did the Government or National assembly enacted a law that accord traditional rulers a constitution role ?
Help me ask him, its just because their traditional rulers are milking federal government by collecting salaries and allocation which they know now it will stop
If u claimed that you produce for food for the entire Nigeria, why are you crying to pay taxe .if you produce the highest food in Nigeria, you suppose to have the highest taxe profit,so depend on your food production
Flying in oil workers in and out of Bayelsa has absolutely nothing to do with VAT ratherthe PAYEE
He is mixing up consumption tax with the income tax and company tax. The bone of contemption is the consumption tax where the states that consumed gets more, not where a state generates in 100 of billions but is being paid 10 of billions which is very unfair to such states.
Ali Ndume is trying to be mischievous.
Now these Senators are talking to ride on the back of the policy.
Good to go, let's see how every state get their IGR. they can't be working in other states and pay tax to Lagos state.
Every day some people will be shouting Lagos generates so much than other states.
Now they wouldn't be getting such money and taxes again.
This tax reform is good.
nice! didnt know this man is this sound. why is it the clowns in the senate that we see more often.anyone against this tax reforms is not well
You must fight it tooth and nail because it is your right. You were kind enough in the NigerDelta to allow your oil to be taken advantage of by other states without oil in Nigeria. The issue of tax if other states are grateful to you in the NigerDrlta is not something to raise an eyebrow about at all. Unless they want something else to happen like breaking up the country so that everyone can go separate ways. They should continue to make silly noise about this tax reform bill.
Senator Ndume made one thing clear
Increasing tax on the corporations is multiple times more burden on the poor
Is the only corporation that makes more than 50m profit annually that would pay 25per on their profit which is okay and that's how it done in advanced country.
@aaliwinni9959 that's the problem, in advanced countries they did not get to 25%
They increase it according to the confidence of the people in the system and quality of life, this way they can shoulder the impact
But imagine the jobs data in Nigeria, CPI and PPI numbers
There are no metrics to back up 25% tax, mind you 50m naira is only $30,000.
This Ndume is confused
What do you expect from an intellectual dwarf like Ndume. He does not have the capacity to read and understand the bill. This is why he is bringing sentiment. He is supposed to lead his constituency but instead his constituency is the leading him.
The minorities has been sleeping for too long, how are you people practicing democracy?here in Europe, the states get the share they generate, why is it that Nigeria democracy only favours the paliticians, all what you politicians has been doing has been for your pockets, let the bill pass.
Oga politician that makes no sense o, how do you discuss national issues without regional considerations or grassroots (3:20+)
The other state can’t make more revenue due to not thier fault for lack of industrialization not reaching them it’s not thier fault.
Why all of them always talk about taking their money to pay Lagos? Why not Abuja who doesn't even bring anything on the table but always talk about Lagos? Do they not Aware that Lagos generates the highest taxes in this country and not Balyesa? Do they not aware that Lagos can stand alone without Federal, or what's he saying
Let them move all the oil companies headquarters to oil producing state and pay their taxes there and not Lagos that produce no oil
That's what is right to say, because we are all in the south
@@gudenofjames8026 More reason why the tax reform wont work even though it is a very good development. When Lagos / Tinubu people hear Dickson argument, dem too go wan kill the bill. Cunny man die, cunny man bury am. Una wan do good in Nigeria, start from the root not half done
The question is who manages those taxes? Another proceeds for politicians to have enough to loot?
The oil in south, the goods that was imported to come in south south and sout East which is to be consumed in this sone , there tax is going to pay in Lagos. Hahahahaha. We can never get it right till we get it right.
Lagos State will cry If this law is passed, I'm sure Mr president did not ask questions before bringing it up
I don’t understand why you all are praising this senator’s and not TINUBU that is really fighting hard for the nation.
Why is senator dickson using Lagos state alone as example 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Investment in darkness and no safety,, no light..
YeYe dey smell o. New Lagos slave trade has begun...
the Tax talk about a third part collection...which is Tinubu ALfa beta collecting the money
Tax d pple more and enrich few wt d revenue generated.
That's exactly my fear, corruption will crawl it's way into this. Where the citizens do the hard work and some thieves with big stomach and bald head will sit and eat it up. I hope it doesn't end up being a case of monkey dey work baboo dey chop.
Abeg shup up, there's nothing great about Nigeria
Why are you still in Nigeria?
You pay your tax where you live .
Ndume u rant too much ooo ...
Let the northerners go and develop their state and stop teaching their people how to make baby
We go show the Yorubas and Tinubu it’s northern Nigeria that makes him the president when all the Yorubas and other southern people rejected him vehemently! Last last everyone will go their separate ways… it’s better for Nigeria to separate, nothing good about one nation as they said
So every one should go their ways just because the Tax Law is asking every region to sit uo ? Just asking
It about time, No more free lunch in Nigeria.
Funny you, remember you are landlocked
Many land locked countries are doing better than Nigeria.
What you are suggesting should have happened during Buhari's time, unfortunately it is already late. Nigeria must move forward ⏩
Tinubu will steal all this taxes
Look at another fool no sense 😂😂😂😂😂😊
Imagine what you're saying. Have u sat down to listen to the proposal. Stop being foolish.
Rubbish! What’s timing? Arrant Nonsense! Ndume is a lazy man!
Tinubu want all states tax be paid in Lagos why
How?
Lies
Go and read the bill, lazy people, what you consume is what you will get, you can't be feeding with other people sweat 😂😂😂
Better read the bill. You see headline and just talk. Do better.
Tinubu is saying Lagos should not collect all the money. He is saying the money should go to other states. So read the bill before displaying intellectual laziness
Very good move. Tinubu is happily reforming tax because Lagos has already been developed with money made from oil and gas-producing states as a capital territory then. He is very happy about the reform, but he doesn't want to approve a regional government. Tinubu is also planning to put his son as the governor. Meanwhile, Igbos are the highest taxpayers in Lagos.
U be mumu,go and read d bill
You guys are just too dense for my likening aje! You people's thinking or mentality are always petty, illogical, hilarious and clouded with tribal sentiments.
Won't it be better then if igbos will relocate to east to be able to pay their tax there
Big Mumu with an empty head good for nothing
Is not by force go back to ur state and pay ur taxes over there
