Abdulmumuni Jibrin did well in espousing the merits and dousing the skepticism around the proposed tax bill... its worth looking at the document once again by all well meaning Nigerians...
If you are educated, enlightened, neutral and open-minded, you are very blessed with a wisdom of knowledge and leadership to be a good leader. For your kind information, I am very impressed and pleased whenever I happen to listen to Honourable. Abdul-Muimeen Jibrin a very respectful Honourable member of the House of Representative of Nigeria. Its high time for INEC to wake up in it's point of recruitment process for our political/recruitment process of politicians representing us, both in the local level and the highest level without any bias of ethnocentric bigotry, rather, based on empirically verifiable qualifications, integrity and quality of leadership. There's a bright future in Nigeria, but if well managed by the patriots, not "foreigners " claiming to be 'NIGERIANS '.
I said this before, what most Nigerians disagree with is probably the best thing for Nigeria. Most Nigerians are not progressive in nature, they dont like change for a better society, they just want the status quo..Shanty roadside shops, dirty roads and the rest.Anything or anyone that tries to change that will be resisted vehemently.😅This bill is the right thing to do for progress of Nigeria.Value added tax should be based on comsuption. The tax does not accrue in the first place if people dont buy/consume the goods or services.lf anything,it will encourage states to encourage busineses,it will encourage states to be more open for business, welcome people from other region, encourage security etc.Which the current tax system does not address. Thank you.
There are few among them that thinks independently and progressively irrespective of the region bias.. (more examples are Sen. Sani, El Rufai, Sanusi and few more) I am 100% sure those traditional leaders don't even have the bill and the majority of their representatives who even have it don't read it (e.g Ndume). Who is even shamelessly and disgustingly saying he doesn't have to read it.... Is that not foolishness at it's peak, and even a slap on the people he represents as a whole? I served in the north, and I am not surprised at all at what I am seeing, bcs it's part of the way their majority reasons. You will have issue with one of them, and without any enquiry of what actually happened by their friends and cohort between you two, they will just blindly and senselessly jump into the defense of their own, even start to threaten you immediately.... Tell me a community that reasons that way and grow... The North has extra numerous problems (not same in other parts of the country) within themselves that really need to be addressed.... And education is the backbone of it all.. Go and look for Sanusi Lamido Sanusi advise to the northern leaders in his first tenure as Emir, he enumirated few of the problems, but the bigger problem is even that, there selfish and slavery minded leaders don't want to listen to that..... Let's just go our separate ways by region... BIKO 🇳🇬 God Bless Nigeria 🇳🇬
If after national service all you've come to conclude is "lets go our separate ways" then your time in the "north" which I would believe was restricted to your area of service due to the prejudiced mindset you've of the area is unfortunate.😢😢
To reform taxes, you must first protect what happens to taxes after they're collected, that'spreventing leakages or misuse and thefts of our taxes collected. Would you fetch water with a basket? Why collect more taxes in a system where people like Tulumbu and wicked Wike would splurge with your taxes on yachts, jets, fur coats, and alcohol? The proposed new tax regime is a pipe that would feed Tulumbu's Alfa Beta business. He's given his nephew at Oando our oil wells, now it's time to steal our taxes.
You’re 100% correct. The govt. needs to show discipline 1st and due diligence. The EFCC, judiciary & executive have not given many Nigerians hope. Where is Yahaya Bello who allegedly used TAX money?
The bill isn’t about collecting more taxes or less but rather how it should be shared upon collection. It’s not a new tax. I hope you comprehend better with my layman explanation.
@ I truly hope that you comprehend that my comment is about prioritization. Moving money that will be stolen does not impress me. There’s so much the govt. can do if they’re truly interested in opening up Nigeria’s wealth.
A fool will always talk like a fool, you heard that it exempted low income earners and some sectors like health, etc Where did see collecting more taxes?
ASUU has kicked against it. This tax reform will replace TETFUND with loans. NO ! NO!! NO!!! This man is now being lectured by Charles. He, too, has not read the bill.
The interviewers should stop inviting experts to explain vital issues if they enjoy listening to themselves more and keeps interjecting more than the explanations. Much more time for questions than its answers.
I can tell this journalist hasnt read the bill. Journalists are so sub par in the country, they dont have an informed opinion they only want "gbas, gbos" why cant we move from "what is the bill -" to "how will the bill -".
@Tade734 my reading the bills is inconsequential as I can't vote for it's implementation nor am I employed to educate on the topic. You are a representation of the "gbas gbos" I was talking about. Folks like your are the reason journalists don't have to do better. You are their main audience.
Mr. Man, You are sitting there in the comfort of government tax payers revenue, talking about tax incremental and new tax processing for the poor to continue being in languish and poverty, but how much jobs and investment has your government generated for the poor or the citizens so that they earn some level of income to enable them pay taxes? All of you there at the so-called house of assembly are hypogrates, seeking for your self interest benefits and that of your family and allowing the poor to die of hunger on the street, but will be collecting from "Paul to pay Peter' You guys are evil doers and heartless for poor citizens in the country🇳🇬👹👎

Subjective! When you're all that you mentioned, they tends to be deceptively divisive in most cases and when they are, it's always catastrophical

@Tade734 English is obviously not your strength, return to Yoruba.
When a greedy man rules, he secured the nation wealth for himself and his family. Mere looking at him, you will know how greedy he is

This guy can't support anything that will not benefits his personal interest...so I would rather believe a mad man on the street of Kano than him...
Typical foolish ibo man.
What differentiate you from a mad man😅
Then you must be a mad man yourself. Birds of the same feather flock together init
Absolutely, his leader cannot say something and him saying otherwise. He is definitely upto something and its personal
You're right; it takes a mad man to believe a mad man. Reminds one of that boy that preferred the advise of ment men to run his state lol!
